Arc 3 chapter 44
The city was chaotic, loud and full of blood of the innocent. The soldiers that were on Gaari's side were killing every non-elven citizen who they came across to except for the adventurers who most of them were leaving the city to not get involved in political wars of Lotus.
Sion and Lik were about to face off at the streets amidst the chaos. Sion knew he was in a disadvantage against Lik since he has Leo and Rio to watch out for and his opponent is an elf who looks like is good with daggers since Lik has a dagger at both hands and has taken a battle stance fit for a slasher and Lik's aura was not above Sion but it was plenty, in comparison Lik is about D rank if was an adventurer.
A good enough D rank would surely put Sion in a tough spot if they were to fight in a situation he was in.
Lik: prepare yourself! (charges straight at Sion)
Sion: (for now he doesn't know I have more mana than him, but he doesn't that, I'll just have to find a to make an advantage of that)
Sion charged at him as well with the two boys on him and dodged Lik's attack and head butted him on the stomach. Lik quickly recovered from the blow and tried to attack Sion at the back, but Sion managed to dodge the slashing attack and leaped some few steps away.
Sion: (take out an artifact and started pouring mana on it) I think it's my chances will increase if I use this.
Leo: that's the gift papa gave you right?
Rio: I bet it's gonna be cool!
Sion: as cool as things get!
The artifact glow brighter as the light started to envelop Sion's entire body and glowed brighter and brighter until it disappeared. After the white light dissappeared, Sion was wearing different clothes from the casual one from before. He was wearing a battle like robe with a hood, and holding a silver staff with a blue ball shaped crystal on it.
The battle robe went well with Sion since it was white and had black stripes at the arms and torso, the robe was made with a magic frabic that can with stand four basic elements which Sion specialized in. Now Sion truly looked like a true battle mage.
Rio: wow! You looked cool before, but now you look cooler!
Leo: yeah what he said!
Sion: told you it was gonna be cooler than you thought!
Lik:.... Are you done impressing the kids? Cuz if you are then let's get back at business, though I'm impressed you can equipt the White guardian equipment. It means there's more to you than I thought, but that won't help you.
Sion used a teleportation grimore to teleport the kids to a nearby open cage to face Lik full power.
Without much of a warning Sion charged at Lik in almost the speed of sound and threw a [lightning kick LV4] at him, knocking Lik away, but he quickly recovered and threw a big rubble at Sion which was quickly evaded and countered with a [lighting strike barrage LV2] making a lot of electrical currents find themselves on top of Lik, making him scream in pain.
Lik got up again and covered his blades with aura, making runes appear on them and they grew a little bigger.
Lik: ok! Now it's my turn.
Sion braced himself for the upcoming attack as Lik quickly closed the distance and before Sion could react, Lik digged two of his blades inside Sion. Blood stained itself in Sion's white fabric and even he could not understand what just happened.
Lik removed his daggers from Sion's stomach area, making Sion fall down only for a moment before he leaped backwards while covering his wounds.
Leo: SION!!!
Rio: NO!!!
Sion: (coughs out blood)... what the hell just... happened? I was sure... I dodged your attack.
Lik: (laughs) yeah I'm sure you did, but you were just too predictable.
Sion: (uses his staff to amplify his magic abilities) [water Canon LV5]
Sion threw his attack as fast as he could, but Lik easily got through it and tried to stab Sion with his blades, but Sion dodged them in time and leaped back to get some distance, but Lik easily closed the distance punched Sion at the chest, making him fly to the nearby rubble and crash in it, but it was not over as Lik closed the distance again and used [swordsmanship LV7] to cut Sion multiple times until his body is filled with wounds and blood.
Sion: (vomits out a lot of blood)... How...
Lik: (scoffs) are you asking how am I so fast?
Sion:...
Lik: it's just in your eyes kid. (steps on his wounds)
Sion: (screams in pain) gaaaaah!
Lik: well to tell you the truth, It's in my unique ability Universal Frames.
Sion:...?!
Universal Frames is Lik's unique ability which allows him to predict and control motions of the world around him by replacing the natural movements with frames, making him control the law of motion to a specific area or object. With this ability Lik can frame a person's movements to a total of 60FPS( sixty frames per second) and he can remove any number of frames from motion up to 59FPS, making him able to predict a person's movements or make them faster out of their own will and attack at the right moment, this is Lik's ability Universal Frames.
Lik: now you understand why I said it's just in your eyes? To simplify it, my ability makes you look slower in my eyes and makes me look faster in your eyes.
Sion: so basically speed doesn't matter? No matter how fast I go or how slow. (shit! How am I suppose to deal with that?)
Lik: you understood that pretty well for a lowly human, but yes that's how it works a bit. Anyways it's time for you and the kids to die!
Sion: if you touch them I'll—
Lik: you'll what? Incase you didn't notice you're down for the count... Now say goodbye! HAHAHA!
Lik slowly raised one of his daggers and tried to stab Sion to death, but he started to feel hot at his back and stomach... When he looked behind him, there was a tall green headed elf behind him wearing a black robe and just digged his sword inside Lik until it came out his stomach.
Lik: (coughs out blood)... La... Lazark?... Why... Are you here?
Lazark: all three of me are the same person, meaning when you killed the one at the castle, I felt that to the last second until I died. Now I just want to go on a rampage and kill every single one of you scum.
Lik:... (shit! If I can just use Universal Frames real quick I can—)
Lazark quickly sliced Lik upwards making his stomach and head split in two and his brains and intestines gush out and blood sprayed on the floor.
Lazark quickly healed Sion after Lik's body dropped on the ground. Rio and Leo quickly ran to Sion crying and begging Lazark to make sure he lives.
Leo: (crying) please uncle Larky heal Sion!
Lazark: that's what I'm doing already! [Recovery LV15]
Sion's wounds started closing, and Sion was healed in no time since his wounds were not that fatal since Lik did not hit any vital organs and Lazark was a high ranking healer... At least one of his three biengs is. Sion was unconscious when Lazark completely healed him. Lazark carried Sion on his back and told the kids to follow him.
Lazark: Sion Grey huh? You defendend my friend's kids with your life and with that I shall take you to a safe place underground where I shall explain everything to you.
Leo: how about home?
Lazark: your home is not safe, for now we go somewhere safe.
Lazark took Sion and the twins to the underground hideout where his family were hiding from the war happening above ground. A shadow like figure appeared behind Lazark and vanished, after they finally reached the place where his family and a bunch of rescued innocent people were, Lazark placed Sion down and his children ran to hug him and then went to play with Rio and Leo.
Lazark's wife prepared food for the kids and Sion for when he wakes up and placed it close to where he was sleeping.
After a few hours, Sion finally woke up and when he did, Lazark who was sitting next to stopped what he was doing to help him get up since he was still beat up pretty bad.
Sion: (drinks some water and sat up straight) thank you for saving me back then Mr uhh....
Lazark: it's director Lazark, but you can just call me Lazark or add a nickname if you want.
Sion: the director! There's no way I can commit such disrespect!
Lazark: it's ok, I don't mind... But anyways there's something I gotta tell you and I would like to get straight to the point. Is that alright.
Sion: (nods)
Lazark: though you may already know this, but there's something I gotta tell you about the Red Hand.
Sion: (starts remembering Drogo and Anos)... I'm listening.
