Arc 3 chapter 40
1000 years ago travelers of the sea like tour ships, cargo ships, pirates and sailors of all different kinds were all sailing the seas with pride and adventure since the sea was big, vast and full of wonderful possibilities... Yes they were possibilities but some of them were not wonderful and the one thing that contributed to the unwonderful was a calamity that was asleep under the deepest parts of the sea and waiting for the right moment to take away the sailors love for the sea... The Kraken!
The Kraken, a calamity level monster that roames the sea and destroys anyone who dare comes near it's territory. This monster is about as huge as mountain and looks like a giant squid... Well it is a giant squid with a perfect control over the water element and anyone who has ever come across it never lived to tell the tale, until one day a hero went to the sea on his own to look for the Kraken since his kingdom which was found near the ocean would lose its trade routes and source of income if nothing was done.
The hero fought the monster at the sea where it should had every advantage. The battle was fierce but in the end the hero came out on top and the Kraken defeated, but after that the hero dissappeared along with the monster and no one has ever heard of them since...
Milly: they tried searching everywhere for the hero or the remains of the Kraken, but was never found.
Kali:... And now you're saying that there's a possibility that the monster inside Martha is the Kraken?!
Milly: well the great beast seal only works on calamity level monsters and the only calamity monster with tentacles that I know of is...
Kali: the Kraken?... Fuck! Things just got complicated.
Milly: and out of hand.
Milly and Kali were already back at the mansion and they were currently waiting for Rachel and Martha to wake up. Though Sion and Alga finished before them it looks like they were not around and their portal was closed which means Milly knew they got out and they left with the one year olds.
Milly: for now let's just wait for Alga to come back with the kids.
Kali: aren't you afraid for your babies safety?
Milly: Alga yes, but I heard Sion's is good with kids.
Kali: well yeah I heard he was an assistant of the care taker at the Ember clan kindergarten.
Milly: so yeah I'm not worried much. But I'm kinda worried about Alex.
Kali: huh? Why?
Milly: because I felt Albert's and Alex mana starting to leak through their portal... That usually doesn't happen.
Kali: then I'm guessing it's a warzone there.
Milly: I just hope Albert doesn't take it too far.
Kali: I think he knows what he's doing.
Milly: well anyways I guess you're the only one who passed my training soo congrats, though I wish it was in different circumstances.
Kali: don't worry about it and precise, that deep mana control is cool as hell!
Milly: well it's not fully complete but keep using it often and you'll master it like a pro.
Kali: I can't wait then!
Milly and Kali continued their conversation while waiting for Alga to come and Alex to finish training. At the other hand the was a meeting at the castle of the director at the meeting hall. The director invited important nobles of Lotus City to discuss the death of two important figures of the justice guild.
When the nobles arrived Lazark the elven director of the city pointed out that they should take a sit and he had an intense look in his face that suggested that this was serious.
Lazark: I assume that you all know why I called you here?
Lik: is it about those guys who were found dead today?
Gaari: have some respect! Those "guys" were useful people in this city and they achieve far more than you contributed head of the commercial guild Lik!
Lik: I swear you always take things seriously and it's boring.
Dagen: that's because this matter is serious.
Nalik: every time we're here you two start arguing and it's annoying.
Taaro: let them be children, I don't care either ways.
Lazark: all of you quiet! Anyways where's Alga?
Alga showed up looking like he was out of breath. He sat on the chair which was unoccupied.
Alga: sorry I'm late... It's just that leaving this guy I was with with my kids was a bit difficult.
Gaari: then you shouldn't have come since you usually don't come anyways.
Lazark: well he's here anyways. I'm gonna get straight to the point. Two high ranking members Pason and Veel of the justice guild were found dead today by Dagen over there and I believe one of you here did it.
Alga: what?! How could anyone kill those two?!
Lazark: that's why I suspect one of us here, because not anyone can just take these guys out.
Gaari: but some of us can't even fight.
Nalik: yeah and none of us benefits from their deaths.
Lazark: I'm not so sure about that. Not to long ago I asked Veel to look into some suspicious case of the financial records that didn't make sense, because I requested money to be sent to community service under a certified name but it was not mine. The money was sent but it was not what I requested and when I reported it, the financial guild claimed it was occupied, but when I checked the records as a director I didn't see any occupation... Can you tell me about that Gaari?
Gaari: it was probably a small mistake my workers did, I'll fix it.
Lazark: this happened eight times.
Gaari:...
Lazark: and when I got Pason and Veel to look it up, guess what happened? They got killed.
Gaari: listen I don't know what happened but I swear it's not me!
Dagen: sorry to butt in but I just had a meeting with Gaari when I found the bodies.
Alga: what were you doing there?
Dagen: I was borrowing money from the financial guild. It's in the records you can check it.
Lazark: (a shadow like figure appeared near Lazark and then disappeared and came back) it looks like you're telling the truth, but why did you borrow money? For someone in your position.
Dagen: I forgot it at home and I kinda needed it at the spot.
Lazark: I see... Then it looks like this is gonna take longer than I thought.
Nalik: where's Tommy anyways? He's the head of the justice guild isn't he supposed to be here?
Taaro: it looks like he fell ill and he's at home right now.
Nalik: that's super suspicious.
Taaro: actually it's savere. He can't move much from his bed, if I had to guess it's probably poison.
Nalik:.... Wow I can't believe you assholes would stoop so low!
Alga: hey careful, we're not sure if it's even one of us here.
Lazark: oh and it doesn't end there!
Alga: what?!
Lazark: apparently a bunch of people in the slums disappeared out of nowhere.
Lik: people dissappear there everytime.
Lazark: they dissappeared at the same time.
Nalik: so we have a serial killer now? What the heck!
Alga:... If this killer is strong enough to do in Pason and Veel and probably connected to a noble of this city, then we gotta deal with this problem and fast!
Dagen: (poor them, they have no clue of what's going on and at this rate... Well I do feel shame a bit, but it's survival of the fittest)
Gaari: (you fools... You don't even know it's your last day today and Alga... I feel just as bad for you.)
While this meeting was taking place, something bad was about to happen as Edwick just reached Alga's mansion with a seal in his hand that is meant to destroy barriers which was given to him by Gaari.
Edwick: well its about time... Drogo... I don't know what the hell you're doing, but do not regret it later.
