Courtyard...
I stared blankly at everyone in the courtyard doing regular stretches and then the instructor spoke.
" Okay, enough messing around and calling it training. I see new faces so I want to test your speed. You," the instructor pointed at the pretty girl from earlier," come here. What's your name?"
The girl strolled lazily to the instructor.
" Carmen Ashenville." She said.
"Okay, since she's a PB vampire, should I give her male or female?" The instructor asked.
" Male." Someone said.
" Killian." The instructor called and a guy with white hair walked to the tracks. He smiled and stretched his hand to shake her but she just smiled back very eerily.
" Alright, you will see a demarcation, you get there and come back. Racers on your tracks, get set and...go!" Then they took off and yes it looked extremely fast.
" If Killian beats her she'll have to go through extreme training." Azazel said sitting on the grass beside me. I turned to Claude out of instinct and he seemed to be doing just fine with Loothgate.
Suddenly, the girl came back.
"Wow, impressive." The instructor said.
" I jogged, literally." The girl didn't even break a sweat.
Few minutes after, Killian pulled up.
" She's so fast." He said panting.
" And you're so shameless." The instructor said making everyone burst out laughing.
" Hey, I'm just a werewolf, don't blame me. It's not my fault, I'm just a guy." Killian pouted.
" A slow one." Carmen added laughing.
" Why don't you try someone your own size?" Lilith stepped to the tracks.
" You mind?" Lilith asked.
" Of course not." Carmen satanic smile returned as she shook hands with Lilith .
" Hey, you didn't shake hands with me." Killian fussed and she just chuckled.
" You might need to run this time." Lilith said.
" Threatening." Carmen smiled again.
" Racers on your tracks, same location, get set and...go!"
The take off was worse than before. Dust from no where rose and they moved with speed of light, literally. A minute or less later, Carmen pulled up and Lilith five seconds after.
Lilith smiled ," gave you the benefits of the doubt," she said.
" That's what they all say." Carmen said walking back and I guessed everybody knew the air hung even after their race was over.
" You," the instructor pointed to Claude," come forward darling, let's see what you've got."
" He's probably just finding himself so is he going male or female?"
" Give him Raphael." Azazel yelled and some very spotless looking dude came forward.
" That's Raphael?" I asked.
" Yup. Angel. The dude is so fucking unexplainably beautiful and clean." Azazel said.
" Racers on your tracks, get set and go!"
Then the race begun. Deep down I actually wanted Claude to win. I had zero idea how much speed clean freak Raphael had.
Minutes later they both pulled up. It was a tie. Better than nothing.
" Oh, nice." The instructor said.
" He's pretty much a smooth runner." Raphael said in a very much expected British accent.
" Now it's your turn." I was pointed out and I went to the tracks low-key terrified.
" I'll handle it." Deimos rang in my head and we'll I regained all confidence.
" Let's give him..."
" I'll handle this one." Cairo Ricardo came forward. The guy from earlier.
" You want to race Ricardo?" The instructor lowered her voice.
" What did I just say? I dunno, is old age obstructing your hearing? I want to race with the newbie, nitwit." The guy said.
" Sorry. Racers on your tracks,"
For some reason, I wanted to win. His arrogance stung me," same location, get set and, go!" The instructor called.
The take off was massive and even I myself didn't believe I could do such he turned to me, mid race and flashed me the most ridiculous smile. I boiled realising he was a step ahead of me.
Unfortunately, I got back a second late. A second after him.
" Sorry," he smirked and I felt my insides burn with a sudden found hate.
I tried not to show my anger but I guess it was obvious to him because his smirk grey wider. He winked and left. Just like that.
" Your really, really fast, kid." The instructor barely muttered staring blankly at me, so was everyone. I walked back to Azazel and sat beside her .
" That was extreme." She said.
" I was a second late." I muttered.
" Yeah, no one has ever been they close to Ricardo before. He's super fast so no one tries and when they do, they end up crying their eyes out, depressed or jumping off a bridge, still depressed." She laughed.
" But this isn't good," she said after a while," it means you're a challenge to Cairo every wise. Cairo is beautiful, intelligent, experienced, strong and a mother fucking son of a bitch genius and well, so are you, sort of. But he's arrogant as hell so he isn't letting you go."
My anger grew wilder . So he thought he was untouchable, nice imaginations.
