I opened my eyes, and I was in my room. So, it was all a dream. It felt too realistic for a dream.
I was drenched in sweat. That was one hell of a dream. I swear, I had never experienced a dream that horrible. The looks on the faces of the people while dying—I could see them vividly.
My alarm went off. It was time for me to go to college.
I got up from my bed, cleaned it, set it properly, and went down to get ready.
First, I need to go to the bathroom.
It seems it is occupied. Now what should I do?
Brush my teeth. Okay, what else can I do now? Every day is hell—waking up and getting ready to go to college. I fucking hate this shit.
Is the bathroom vacant?
"I need to use it!" I shouted while putting my brush and cleaner in the toothbrush stand.
Then my little brother shouted, "I came out a long time ago."
"Then you should have said it when you came out, you dumb piece of shit!" I shouted.
I went into the bathroom, took a bath, and came out. Breakfast was ready.
I ate it in peace while my brother went to take a shower.
Breakfast was bread with an egg.
After completing it, I went back to my room and got dressed.
I came down, took my lunch, and headed to the main door of our house. I took my sneakers out.
While I was putting on my socks, my mom told me that my father asked me to come to our shop early without roaming around.
For which I said, with a serious look on my face, "I never went roaming late to the shop," which I did a hundred percent.
I came out of my house and took the 8-1 TOEI bus to THE UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO, which arrives at eight twenty-two.
It stops at Matsuokamon, Tadai Hospital, and Tadai Konai.
I took the International Business and Supply Chain Management course.
I forgot to introduce myself.
I am FUJIWARA SATORU.
My dad is Japanese, and my mom is Indian.
Well, it is as I am saying. My dad has a shop in Nihonbashi. To be exact, it's a good business that was handed down as a family business, and I am said to be the next head. That is why I took this business course.
I want to open new stores in other prefectures of Japan and in other countries as well.
Our shop is well known all over Japan and other countries. Our business is ranked in forty-fifth place all over the world and first place in Japan.
We ranked forty-fifth because we have only one shop.
So, in order to make it number one in the world, I need to take over the business and open new stores.
I suggested to my father that we open new stores in other prefectures first, but he said he is not interested in that and that I can open new stores when I become the new head of our business.
So, to manage business and multiple stores, I took this course.
We finally arrived at the university.
I see this every day. This is THE UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO.
Well, this place is nice to roam around, but it is hell to stay in for study. A lot of students skip their classes, but I have a goal and a dream to achieve.
So, to achieve it, I need to tolerate it.
Here comes our class hero.
He is my best friend from middle school. His father and my father are also friends.
To describe his face.
He has long and narrow, smooth but defined contours that give him an elegant, almost aristocratic look.
His face rarely appears soft, even at rest, it feels composed and deliberate, narrow, heavy-lidded eyes that often look half released, half judging.
His father also has a business which is a family business handed down through generations, just like ours. So, he is the next head of his family business.
His name is KIMURA KENJI.
Here he comes, walking like a hero.
Unlike me, he is a pure Japanese.
He has an undercut hairstyle and is taller than me. He has a slim, muscular body and an older twin sister who is two minutes older than him, and a younger sister who is two years younger, just like my brother.
His older sister is a beauty.
All of our seniors and juniors in our branch and other branches proposed to her or asked her out, but she rejected all of them.
She is also close to my younger brother. Both of them talk a lot when we meet and text each other often, and she even visits our house with Kenji and just chats with my brother.
To describe her face.
Slim oval to slightly heart shaped face with a narrow jawline and soft chin.
Very fair complexion.
Large almond shaped eyes with a sharp outer corner, the iris are light violet to grey-purple, glossy and highly reflective, giving a calm but intense look.
Long upper lashes, thinner lower lashes.
Generally calm, reserved and lightly distant.
The gaze feels composed with a mature, composed aura.
She has long black hair and fine body proportions. She is the same height as her brother, and her face has a glow which is hard to describe.
Her name is KIMURA KEIKO.
"Hey, shithole, what's up? You are looking gloomy in the morning even before class started," said Kenji.
"Didn't you sleep well last night?" Keiko asked.
"Well, not really," I replied.
"What happened?" he asked.
"I got one hell of a nightmare. It was terrifying as fuck," I said.
"Well, nightmares like that come once in a while. Just take it lightly and forget it," he said in a cheerful voice.
Well, he has been like that since we met in middle school.
But Keiko has always been a silent mouth.
"Okay, the class is going to start soon. Shall we go?" Kenji said, then continued, "Shall we go out to hangout and have something tasty after the day is finished?"
Keiko replied, "Yes, we should go. It's been a long time since the three of us went out."
For which Kenji replied, "Uh-uh, not three—four. You are forgetting one more person. And here she comes."
Yes, here she comes—YAMANASHI AKIKO.
She has a small, rounded face, fair and smooth skin, very large round eyes, tiny nose, small and wide mouth.
Always happy, energetic and playful.
Overall, she's cute, bubbly, and highly friendly, which I don't like.
She is Kenji's girlfriend.
According to university sources, she is the second most beautiful girl after Keiko, and Kenji is the most handsome boy in the university. As for me, I live a life that is away from spotlight.
"What are you talking about without me? Are you talking about me behind my back?" Akiko said.
"No, baby. We were thinking about going out to eat after the completion of the day. What do you say?" said Kenji acting all cute.
"Yes, we should totally go, the four of us. It's been so long. Is it since our first year after the exams were completed?" said Akiko with her cheerful and energetic tone.
"Yeah. Even if we wanted to meet, this guy would not come and wouldn't even reply to messages. Today is the start of our second year, so I thought we should go out to have a party."
"Let me clear the misunderstanding. I was working in my dad's shop, so I couldn't come," I said.
"At least you could have sent a message that you were working, right?" said Akiko.
"Yes, totally agreed," said Kenji.
"I am not coming. You three enjoy yourselves. I got work to do at my dad's shop," I said.
"Ew, what a bummer, Satoru. You totally spoiled the mood, man," Kenji said.
"Yeah, he told me this morning. What can I do?"
"Dude, let me also come with you. I want to see you doing work. It's been a while since I last saw you doing work."
"No, don't come. You won't work and won't let me work."
"Satoru, please let me come. I won't disturb you, please."
He started to cling onto me and behave like a baby.
"Okay, fine. Don't cling onto me."
"Yay! I knew you wouldn't say no to me," Kenji said, smiling.
"We will also come along with you," said both the girls.
"It looks like I don't have any other options. Fine, you two also tag along," I said.
