Power System and Rankings

In Eternal Academy, people are born into one of two paths. Mage or Sword User.

There's no in-between.

Your body either accepts mana… or it rejects it completely.

_Mages_

Mages are those who can use mana, the energy that fuels all magic.

Each mage is born with something called a Mana Core. It determines how much mana they can hold, how fast it recovers, and how far they can grow.

But no one has infinite mana.

Every mage has a limit—a natural cap they can't easily surpass. Push beyond it, and the consequences aren't pretty. At best, you collapse. At worst… you die.

Mages are generally divided into three types:

1) [Elemental Users]

Elemental users control natural elements..fire, water, earth, wind, light, darkness, and others.

Most people can only use one element.

If someone can use two, they're considered rare.

If they can use three… they're monsters, even prodigies.

Of course, having more elements doesn't mean instant mastery. The more you have, the harder it is to control.

2) [Spirit Magic Users]

Spirit users gain power by forming contracts with Spirits.

Spirits are strange beings –often taking the form of animals. Some say they're remnants of powerful mages from the past, their souls lingering in another form.

Each spirit has a rank, and the stronger the spirit, the more power it grants.

But contracts come with limits.

A person can only form up to three contracts in their lifetime. And higher-ranked spirits aren't easy to deal with. They can drain your mana, affect your mind… sometimes even turn on you.

Power always comes with a cost.

3) [Sorcerers]

Sorcerers rely on spells and incantations.

Unlike elemental users, they aren't limited to one type of magic. Instead, their strength depends on how many spells they know, how fast they can cast them, and how well they manage their mana.

They're versatile. Dangerous, even.

But they have one weakness. Casting takes time. And in a real fight, that time can get you killed.

_Sword Users_

Sword users are the opposite of mages.

Their bodies reject mana entirely. They can't use magic, no matter what.

Instead, they rely on physical ability—and something called an Innate Skill.

Every sword user is born with one.

It's unique to them. No two are exactly the same.

That skill defines how they fight, and how strong they can become. Like mages, it also has a limit. But through training and real combat, it can grow… sometimes even evolve.

A sword user's strength comes down to:

How well they use their skill

Their physical condition

Their experience in battle

They don't run out of mana. They don't collapse from overuse.

But if they're outmatched… there's nothing to fall back on.

_Ranking System_

Strength is measured using a simple ranking system:

F → E → D → C → B → A → S → SS → SSS

F Rank – Beginners

E Rank – Slightly trained

D Rank – Average fighters

C Rank – Skilled and reliable

B Rank – Elite level

A Rank – Among the strongest

S Rank – Rare, exceptional individuals

SS Rank – Beyond normal standards

SSS Rank – Legends

This applies to everyone, mages, sword users, even spirits.

In the end, it doesn't matter which path you're born into.

Magic or blade.

What matters… is how far you can take it.
