Tony Stark glared at Stephen Strange with thinly veiled disdain. The two men were fundamentally incompatible, their massive egos and conflicting worldviews—science versus mysticism—clashing every single time they occupied the same room.
Strange, as always, completely ignored the arrogant billionaire. The Sorcerer Supreme simply stated his findings with objective, chilling absolute certainty.
"The Eye of Agamotto has revealed the branching possibilities of our future," Strange announced, his voice echoing in the quiet laboratory. "Spider-Man's conclusion is not just a theory. It is the singular, isolated timeline in which we survive."
"Is that right?" Tony scoffed, crossing his arms. "And did your magic glowing eyeball happen to show you how we survive this?"
Strange shot Tony a cold, unblinking glare, but offered no further retort. The tactical reality was set.
The plan was a logistical nightmare. Once the molecular stabilizer was injected into Grendel's biomass, Venom had to physically overpower and devour a mythical space dragon—alive—within a strict three-minute window. All of this had to be accomplished while simultaneously holding off an army of symbiote-infected superheroes.
It was a virtually impossible task. But "virtually impossible" still meant there was a fraction of hope.
"We can't just provide air support; we need boots on the ground to run interference for Spider-Man," Hank Pym stated, bringing the room back to the grim reality of their roster. "Iceman and the White Queen have been overwhelmed. Ghost is MIA. Living Lightning has fallen."
Hank looked around the lab. "The Human Torch, Jack of Hearts, Thor, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, Tony, Spider-Man, Silk, and myself. That is the entirety of our remaining combat force."
"And we are going up against a corrupted army made almost entirely of our own super-powered friends and enemies," Kitty Pryde chimed in softly.
At the sound of her voice, the room's attention finally snapped to the teenager. The Avengers and Fantastic Four had initially assumed she was just a random civilian Peter had pulled from the rubble—a classic Spider-Man rescue. But now, they realized this kid wasn't a bystander. She was the lynchpin of the entire operation.
"This is Kitty," Peter introduced her, resting a hand on her shoulder. "She's a newly awakened mutant. Her X-gene allows her to phase her body—and anything she's touching—through solid matter. The symbiotes literally cannot touch her." Peter paused for dramatic effect. "Oh, and she's the one who just help free Hulk."
Reed Richards and Tony Stark exchanged a rapid, wide-eyed look. They immediately turned to the glowing canister of molecular stabilizer resting on the workbench.
"Wait," Reed breathed, the scientific permutations aligning in his genius brain. "If she can completely bypass the symbiote's physical threat and phase through matter... she can manually deliver the molecular stabilizer directly into Grendel's core!"
"And if she carries the Pym Particles with her," Tony finished, a wild grin spreading across his face, "she can shrink the dragon from the inside out! Our delivery problem is solved!"
"No, the delivery is solved," Reed corrected, his scientific realism reigning in the excitement. "The biggest problem remains: how do we inflict enough physical damage to keep Grendel distracted, while ensuring Spider-Man is the one who delivers the final, fatal blow without Knull realizing the trap?"
The scientists exchanged a tense look, ultimately turning their gazes toward the Sorcerer Supreme.
A few hours later, the modifications were complete. Hank Pym handed Peter a specialized, rod-shaped Pym Particle activation device, giving the teenager strict instructions on its modified yield.
Back at the Sanctum Sanctorum, the battlefield had shifted. Knull, having learned a valuable tactical lesson from Riot's stolen Codex, had dispersed Grendel. The dragon was no longer holding its aerial form; it had melted into a massive, sprawling lake of black liquid, merging with the greater symbiote frenzy engulfing the building to mitigate the risk of being targeted.
However, these lesser symbiotes were not Riot. They lacked his unique immunity to extreme energy.
High above the Manhattan skyline, endless dark storm clouds gathered violently. Thor hovered in the stratosphere, raising Mjolnir high. He didn't strike the ground. Instead, he unleashed a terrifying, continuous barrage of ambient thunderclaps. The concussive acoustic shockwaves rolled across the city, tormenting the sprawling black lake.
The liquid abyss shrieked. Unable to maintain its dispersed, liquid form under the agonizing sonic pressure, the biomass was forced to violently contract and solidify, revealing its true shape.
With a deafening roar, Grendel rose from the ruins of the Sanctum. Having assimilated massive amounts of ambient matter, the dragon had swelled to nearly ten times its original size. It reared its massive head, spewing black fire at the Thunder God. Thor effortlessly deflected the flames with lightning, maintaining his aerial restraint. He was strictly on distraction duty; Grendel had to be left for Venom.
High above the beast, a golden Sling Ring portal snapped open.
Kitty Pryde took a deep breath and leaped out of the portal, free-falling directly toward the fifty-story monster. She clutched two canisters to her chest. As she plummeted, she phased seamlessly through the dragon's thick, armored hide, plunging deep into its internal biomass.
She triggered the first canister. The blue, gaseous molecular stabilizer instantly evaporated into Grendel's core. The wildly unstable, shifting symbiote cells locked violently into place, solidifying the dragon's molecular structure.
Kitty kept falling, passing straight through the bottom of the dragon's chest cavity. As she exited the beast, she slammed the button on the second canister.
The Pym Particles deployed. A massive surge of red energy washed over Grendel. With its molecular structure locked by Reed's chemical, the dragon couldn't resist the physics-altering particles. The colossal beast violently shrank, condensing back down to its base thirty-meter length and fifty-meter wingspan.
"Now!" Peter yelled.
Standing on an adjacent rooftop, Peter raised the rod-shaped Pym Particle container high above his head and triggered the release.
Black sludge violently erupted from Peter's skin. Venom took control, bathed in the enlarging blue energy of the Pym Particles. The symbiote's mass exponentially multiplied. Venom skyrocketed in size, transforming into a colossal, forty-meter-tall giant.
In a moment of pure, unabashed nerd glory, Giant-Venom struck the iconic, crossed-arm combat stance of the original Japanese Ultraman. The towering black behemoth stared down the thirty-meter dragon.
Hovering nearby in his Silver Centurion armor—currently glowing with protective mystical wards cast by Doctor Strange—Tony Stark couldn't help but laugh.
"Alright, boys and girls of the Earth Defense Force!" Tony broadcasted over the comms, fully leaning into Peter's pop-culture reference. "Help our Ultraman take down the Kaiju!"
Tony and the Hulk flanked the dragon, unleashing a devastating, synchronized barrage of repulsor missiles and gamma-powered debris directly at Grendel's wings to pin it down.
Grendel roared in fury. In response, the corrupted army of symbiote-infected superheroes and villains surged forward, clashing violently with the remaining Avengers on the ground.
"My God, folks, it looks like the Avengers have laid all their cards on the table!" J. Jonah Jameson yelled into his camera, his hair wildly disheveled but his journalistic spirit unbroken. He stood dangerously close to the frontline, broadcasting the clash of the titans. "This is it! This is the moment that will decide the fate of Manhattan!"
Inside the massive, forty-meter symbiote, Peter's HUD flashed red.
Timer: 3 Minutes. Objective: Devour Grendel.
Operation: Begin.
PS: Because Venom has bonded with Peter Parker for an extended period of time in this universe, the symbiote has perfectly replicated and permanently absorbed Spider-Man's genetic powers! This means Venom now possesses super strength, enhanced agility, wall-crawling, organic web generation, active camouflage (invisibility), and bio-electric venom blasts! For Peter, the suit just feels stronger, but the symbiote itself has essentially evolved into a perfect, apex predator!
