Nayeon woke up and her mind felt blank, as if she had been brainwashed. Minju was right beside her on the bed and it looked like she had fallen asleep. Haerin was on a chair, also sleeping. Nayeon tried to remember their names but failed.
"What? Why can't I remember their names?" Nayeon said to herself.
A young looking nurse suddenly walked into the room. She smiled brightly at Nayeon.
"Ah, I see you're awake." She spoke gently.
Haerin and Minju woke up when they heard the nurse speak.
"Oh, nurse." Haerin began. "You're here."
"I need to examine her a little." The nurse said. "My name is Bora."
Nurse Bora went closer to Nayeon and asked her, "How are you feeling?"
"I-i don't remember anything..." Nayeon spoke.
Haerin and Minju were shocked.
"What? What do you mean you don't remember anything?" Minju said in a panicked tone.
"Yes, what are you saying!?" Haerin asked.
"I mean that, Nayeon lost consciousness during that fight as you said, because of a shock. And upon hearing she was fired, triggered a panic attack which caused her to loose consciousness again. Therefore, she also lost her memory and has slight amnesia." Nurse Bora explained briefly.
"Amnesia?" Haerin said confused.
"No way..." Minju spoke.
"She needs to be taken care of properly. You can help her regain her memory since it's not a big thing." Nurse Bora suggested.
"Oh, dear. I have to help Nayeon in some way... I must get a job no matter what." Minju said determined..
"Nayeon can stay with me for the time being. At least until she regains her memories." Haerin spoke.
"Alright." Minju agreed.
"Great, it's all sorted then. I must get back to work, now." Nurse Bora left the room after saying so.
Nayeon looked as confused as ever. She stared at Haerin and Minju.
"I am Minju Park. You're elder sister." Minju spoke.
"And I'm Haerin Park. You're elder cousin." Haerin said.
Nayeon nodded in agreement, but still looked lost.
"Can you remember anything at all?" Haerin asked.
"No. I don't think I can." Nayeon replied.
"Oh... okay." Haerin said.
"Do you remember your niece?" Minju asked. "Her name is Ariyana."
"I don't remember her." Nayeon said.
Haerin and Minju were disappointed that Nayeon lost her memories. They decided to do everything in their power to help her regain them.
Heeseung later came back with Ariyana, after getting her some ice cream.
"Thank you, Heeseung." Minju said.
"No problem." Heeseung gave Minju a smile. Minju smiled back.
"Okay, okay, back to Nayeon, you guys." Haerin interrupted.
"What happened to aunt Nayeon?" Ariyana asked.
"I think it's time for you to go home, sweetheart." Minju said to Ariyana gently.
"Aw, i wanted to stay some more!" Ariyana pouted.
"We'll start leaving soon." Minju said.
"Okay." Ariyana replied sadly.
"So what happened to her?" Heeseung anxiously asked them.
"Amnesia." Haerin said to him.
"Oh..." Heeseung was disappointed.
"What's Amnesia?" Ariyana looked at her Minju who didn't even answer her.
"Is it very bad? Or permanent?" Heeseung asked eagerly.
"Nope. Nurse Bora said it isn't." Minju told him.
"Oh, thank goodness." Heeseung was relieved. "So what now?"
"We try to help her with her memories." Haerin said.
"When will she be discharged?" Heeseung asked.
"Today, but later." Haerin replied.
"Okay. Well, I have work to do right now, so let me just say bye to Nayeon for now." Heeseung said and walked to Nayeon's bedside.
"Hey, Nayeon. I'm sure you don't remember me but I'm your friend and colleague from Amazing water." He said.
"I know your face, but not your identity." Nayeon said to him.
"Alright. Recover soon. I'm already missing you." Heeseung said and left.
After a while, Nayeon was discharged. They went back to Nayeon's house to try and make her remember some things.
"This is your house, that you bought with your own money." Haerin spoke.
"You worked hard Nayeon. And even went far from this place to speak to me and convince me to come here." Minju said.
"Hmmmm..." Nayeon was thinking.
Nayeon suddenly remembered when she and Minju fought for a brief moment.
"Did we get into a fight when I came to see you?" Nayeon asked.
Minju was embarrassed.
"Yes, hehehe... sorry about that." Minju said shyly.
"Wow, you're memory's are coming back, I suppose." Haerin said in awe.
"I want to regain all of them back." Nayeon said.
"No problem. We'll help you." Minju said. "Now get some rest, please "
Nayeon did as she was told, because even she needed time to think and process everything that had happened or what she knew so far. When she went into her room, she remembered when she made a wish on her bed at night. Nayeon smiled to herself. She went into the bathroom and saw her reflection in the mirror.
"Is this me?" She said to herself. She fidget her hair with her hands.
"How did all this even happen?" Nayeon said to herself. "Let me go and sleep now. I'm quite tired."
Nayeon cuddled up into bed and slept.
