Chapter 118 - Ch95- Confrontation and Healing...

Chapter 95 — Confrontation and Healing

The hospital room was alive with tension. Monitors beeped steadily, but the sound felt deafening in the midst of human chaos. Daisy lay propped on her bed, wrapped in blankets, her eyes red and swollen from crying, her hair slightly mussed, her usual composed façade gone. The room smelled faintly of antiseptic and medicine. Outside, the mansion staff had cleared the hallways, allowing the group to assemble without interference.

Cole leaned against the wall, arms crossed, jaw tight. "She's fragile right now. But she's awake. We can't let her push everyone away."

Care hovered near Daisy's bed, her hand lightly resting on Daisy's arm. "She's scared, Cole. She feels alone. We'll fix this, but gently."

Nova and Ben flanked Cole, silent but vigilant, watching every subtle movement Daisy made. The four owners of Trinity Hospital—Cole, Nova, Ben, and Care—exchanged serious glances, their minds already running through strategies.

The Group Convenes

Kiefer paced near the doorway. JJ stood by his side, arms crossed, shaking her head slightly. "This is what happens when you ignore mental health for appearances," she muttered. Percy and Honey whispered back and forth near the foot of the bed, nervously checking Daisy's vitals with exaggerated concern.

Rakhi, serene but firm, crossed her arms. "She's not just our friend. She's family. And family doesn't break alone."

Freya leaned against the wall, smirking slightly but her eyes betraying worry. "Joong better be prepared. We're not letting him get away with this."

Alex and Lyra stood close together, discussing quietly how to manage the logistics if Daisy refused to speak. "We can't let this escalate," Lyra said softly. "We survived worse, and we can survive this too."

Ella and Aries whispered jokes to calm themselves, but their eyes flickered constantly to Daisy, monitoring every reaction.

The Call to Joong

Care took a deep breath, picking up her phone. "Joong… it's urgent. Daisy… she's… we need you here. Immediately."

Minutes later, Joong's face appeared on the hospital screen, video call. His eyes were wide, hands trembling. "Daisy… I—"

Cole cut in, voice firm. "Save it for when you get here. We're not doing lectures over video."

Within an hour, Joong arrived, still disheveled from the flight from Seoul, guilt etched in every line of his face. He barely made it to the door before Kiefer intercepted him.

"You better have a damn good explanation," Kiefer growled, gripping Joong's shoulder. "She nearly died, and you were gone. You hear me?"

"I—I didn't know… I didn't—" Joong stammered, voice cracking.

JJ's hand landed on Kiefer's arm. "Calm down. He's here. That's step one. Now we fix this without pushing her away further."

The Initial Confrontation

Daisy's eyes flicked open as Joong entered. For a moment, there was silence. Then, she sat upright, voice shaking but loud.

"I don't want to see you!" she shouted. "I don't want your apologies. I… I wanted to be gone, and you weren't even here!"

Joong's face crumpled. "Daisy… I… I'm so sorry. I—"

Cole stepped forward, hand raised to calm both. "Daisy, breathe. Joong… don't interrupt. Let her speak."

Care placed a hand on Daisy's shoulder. "We're here. You're not alone anymore."

Daisy's face twisted, tears spilling freely. "You left me, Joong! Seven months, and I smiled every day… every day I pretended to be happy, and you weren't here. You weren't even… noticing!"

Nova's voice was steady but firm. "Daisy… your life matters more than appearances. You don't have to do this alone."

Ben added, "We all care. We're not letting this slide. Not her, not now."

Joong stepped closer, tears in his eyes. "I know I failed. I… I'll never let this happen again. I swear to you."

Daisy's hands shook. "I… I want… I don't know… maybe… maybe divorce. I can't… I can't do this…"

Group Chaos and Mediation

Kiefer stepped forward, voice low but deadly serious. "Divorce? Not on my watch." He pointed a finger at Joong. "You took your wife for granted. You stay, you fix this. Got it?"

JJ nodded sharply. "You're not walking out again without facing the consequences. Daisy isn't leaving."

Percy muttered sarcastically, "I didn't survive a jungle collapse to watch a friend give up on life because of some absent husband."

Honey grabbed his arm. "Percy! Not helping with sarcasm right now!"

Rakhi and Cin moved to stand by Daisy. "She's family. And family doesn't leave each other without a fight… or without talking."

Alex spoke quietly to Lyra. "We need to let her vent. Let Joong take the hit—but gently."

Lyra nodded. "Yes, let her speak. This is therapy in chaos."

Freya, arms crossed, muttered, "I'll physically strangle him if he says one wrong thing."

Ella and Aries exchanged tense smiles. "We survived weddings, almost-deaths… this is nothing compared to what she's going through inside."

Daisy's Revelation

Daisy sobbed openly, body shaking. "I… I felt empty. Alone. Even when everything looked perfect… I was dying inside every day. I wanted to be strong… I wanted to smile… but I couldn't."

Care's voice was soft, almost a whisper, but filled with conviction. "You don't have to pretend anymore. You don't have to be strong for everyone else. We're here."

Cole knelt beside her bed, gently holding her hand. "We're not letting you fall again. You're not alone. Not ever."

Joong's voice was trembling. "I… I realize how much I failed. I promise… I'll never leave you like this again. I'll be present. I'll do everything to make this right."

Daisy's eyes glistened, looking at him but still distant. "It's not enough. You weren't there when I needed you most."

Group Support and Emotional Moments

Care, Cole, Nova, and Ben created a semi-circle around Daisy, shielding her emotionally while she spoke.

Kiefer whispered to Joong, "Fix this. Or else… I don't care how rich you are. I will personally haunt you for life."

JJ added, smirking, "You're in the big leagues now, darling. Don't mess this up."

Percy leaned against the wall, muttering under his breath, "I swear, one more emotional breakdown and I'm handing out chocolates and threats simultaneously."

Honey laughed quietly, brushing Daisy's hair back. "You're safe. That's what matters."

Rakhi added, "Mental health isn't optional. You're important. And you're loved."

Freya whispered to Ella, "I think I may have cried more than Daisy… no offense."

Ella chuckled, holding Aries' hand. "I think we all have, in our own ways."

Joong's First Steps Toward Healing

Joong took a deep breath. "Daisy… I'll be here every moment. I'll attend every hospital round, every research meeting, every day you're awake. I'll be present. No excuses. You are my life."

Daisy blinked, tears streaming, conflicted between anger and longing.

Care whispered from the side, "Let her feel safe. Let her see he's truly here."

Cole nodded subtly. "I'll be here too. She's family. Don't forget that."

Nova smiled faintly, monitoring Daisy's vitals. "We've stabilized her physically. Emotionally… that's the next step. You two need to show her that presence is constant."

Ben nodded. "She's strong. She will heal—but she needs you both. And the group will make sure of it."

Small Steps of Reconciliation

Care arranged for Joong to sit beside Daisy's bed. He offered her water; she took it silently, hands trembling.

Joong said softly, "I'm not leaving your side. Please… just let me be here."

Daisy didn't reply, tears streaming silently. But the smallest nod was progress.

Cole caught Care's eye. "We'll get there. One step at a time."

Outside, the group breathed a collective sigh of relief. They stayed present, some pacing, some quietly watching the monitors, some whispering encouragement to each other.

Percy muttered, "I never thought I'd see a grown woman so brilliant… crumble. But… we're all here now. That's what counts."

Honey nodded. "Together. That's what matters."

Rakhi smiled faintly. "We survived everything. This… this is just another storm. And we're the anchor."

By the end of the night, Daisy allowed Joong to hold her hand. Small gestures—her letting him brush her hair back, him helping her sit upright, them sharing a quiet, trembling smile—marked the first real signs of reconciliation.

Care and Cole exchanged a private glance across the room, satisfied but cautious. Ash and Lyra whispered about how far they'd come since the weddings. Kiefer and JJ teased Percy and Honey gently, Freya joked with Ella and Aries, all the while keeping the focus on Daisy.

The chaos had calmed, but the emotional aftermath lingered in every corner of the hospital room. Daisy's journey to healing had officially begun, with the entire group surrounding her, making sure she was never alone again.
