Looking into the distance, Evangeline muttered unconsciously.
"A storm…"
Indeed. Far into the distance, they could see thick, dark clouds. The wind had grown fiercer and colder, and there was an eerie stillness to the sea's atmosphere.
The signs were clear: a storm was coming.
She turned to Adrian and asked tensely.
"Adi, is this gonna be something bad?"
She didn't really know much about the sea, but in pirate movies she had watched back on Earth, storms were always shown as a huge problem.
It was Xion who answered.
"No need to worry, Miss Evangeline, a measly storm isn't going to sink this ship. In fact, I can hardly think of anything that can sink a ship like this easily."
But as he was speaking, the captain of the ship—a middle-aged man—arrived near them and looked into the distance with a tense expression.
He gritted his teeth.
"Shit, just my luck. I shouldn't have eaten breakfast."
Adrian and Xion furrowed their brows as they heard him curse.
