The silence that followed the fall of the two beasts did not last long.
The guard knight who had stopped Maxwell earlier stepped forward again, his expression unchanged, as if everything that had just happened was nothing more than routine.
"You see?"
His voice was calm.
"It is easy."
Maxwell turned to him slowly.
"Easy…?"
The word felt strange coming out of his mouth.
The guard knight nodded.
"There is no need for your group to intervene."
He gestured toward the fallen beasts.
"This place is already under control."
Maxwell stared at the corpses.
The blood.
The destruction.
The sheer force that had just been displayed.
Then back at the guard knight.
"And you expect me to believe that this is normal?"
The guard knight met his gaze.
"It is normal here."
Maxwell's eyes narrowed.
"What changed?"
The guard knight answered without hesitation.
"Senior Borzoi is here."
The name hung in the air.
Maxwell frowned.
"Senior… Borzoi?"
