Chapter 9 - Pain & Promise

Shizu stood over him, crop top already on the ground, tits bare and glistening with river water.

Nipples hard.

Breathing heavy.

Her black panties were soaked through, clinging to every fold like they were painted on.

"Pants off, Sky-Boy," she said, voice low and rough, no teasing this time — just straight command.

Reon stared up at her, chest rising fast.

The fire crackled beside them.

Monkeys hooted from the trees like they knew exactly what was about to happen.

Then the link flared.

A sharp, sudden spike of pain shot up his left arm — the exact spot where she'd been scraping the scale earlier.

Reon's vision blurred. His body jerked backward like someone had yanked a wire in his spine. He fell hard onto his elbows in the dirt, breath knocked out of him.

"Fuck…" he hissed through gritted teeth.

Shizu's eyes widened for a split second — not playful anymore, just sharp. She dropped the spear instantly and crouched beside him, one hand on his chest, the other gently pressing the spot on his arm where the pain was worst.

"Shit. That hurt you bad, didn't it?"

Her voice was steady, no baby-talk, no pout. Just real concern mixed with that tomboy edge that said she wasn't going to baby him.

Reon nodded once, jaw tight. Sweat already beading on his forehead.

"Yeah. Every time you scrape that scale… it feels like someone's ripping the nerves out of my arm. Not joking."

Shizu exhaled through her nose, silver-blue hair falling across her face as she leaned closer. She didn't move her hand away. Instead she rubbed slow circles over the spot, like she was trying to push the pain out with her palm.

"Linked shit. I get it now. Every poke I make on the spear… you feel it for real."

She sat back on her heels, still topless, but the heat in her eyes cooled into something more focused.

"Alright. New rule. I'm not using the spear again until we figure this out. I'm not trying to torture you while I'm trying to fuck you."

Reon let out a short, rough laugh despite the pain.

"Appreciate the mercy."

Shizu smirked, but it was the kind of smirk that said she was still in control. She reached over, grabbed her discarded crop top, and tossed it lightly onto his chest.

"Cover up for a second. You're bleeding a little from the link backlash. Let me clean it before we do anything else."

She stood, walked to the river edge, and came back with a handful of clean water cupped in her palms. She knelt again, poured the water over the raw spot on his arm, then used the edge of her top to gently wipe the blood away.

Her touch was careful. Firm. Not soft — never soft — but steady.

Reon watched her face the whole time. The way her jaw tightened when she saw the red mark. The way her eyes flicked up to his every few seconds, checking if it still hurt.

"You're not as much of a gremlin as you pretend," he muttered.

Shizu snorted.

"Don't get used to it. I just don't want my new toy breaking before I get to play with it properly."

She finished cleaning the wound, then sat back on her heels again, looking at him.

The fire popped. The monkeys had gone quiet, watching from the branches like they sensed the shift.

Shizu's voice dropped a little.

"So… what now? You're awake. You're hurt. You're hard as hell. And I'm still half-naked sitting in front of you. Your move, Sky-Boy."

Reon pushed himself up on one elbow, the pain in his arm already fading under whatever healing her touch had triggered.

He looked at her — really looked.

The way the firelight hit her skin. The way her panties still clung wet between her legs. The way her tits rose and fell with each breath.

But he didn't reach for her yet.

Instead he reached for the spear lying in the dirt.

"First," he said, voice rough, "we figure out how to break this link before it kills me. Or before you accidentally turn me into a living dildo every time you want dinner."

Shizu raised an eyebrow, lips curving.

"Fair. But if we break it… I lose my free fish stick."

Reon gave her a flat look.

She laughed — low, real — and stood up.

"Fine. Let's talk. But you're still taking those pants off after. That part isn't negotiable."

She walked to the fire, picked up another piece of fish, and tossed it to him.

"Eat. Talk. Then we decide how much pain you're willing to take for the pleasure."

Reon caught the fish.

Ding!

The golden panel exploded open right between their faces, bright enough to sting the eyes.

Shizu's finger hovered where the Y button had been.

Silver-blue hair still dripping slow onto Reon's chest.

Her thighs stayed clamped tight around his lap inside the tiny dirt hole.

The air felt thick, hot, and charged.

Reon's heart slammed against his ribs.

Shizu blinked once, then narrowed her eyes at the glowing screen like she was reading a patient chart.

"Another one," she said, voice calm but edged. "This looks expensive. You triggered it?"

Reon smirked, the fresh Void edge sharp in his tone.

"Yeah. I did. I'm not handing admin rights to my soul over to someone who just used my glove as a fishing rod. Deal with it."

Shizu didn't pout. She just studied the panel, one hand still resting on his chest, feeling his heartbeat slow under her palm.

"You're an asshole when the power kicks in," she said flatly. "But I'll take it over you bleeding out because I poked the wrong scale."

Ding!

The panel unfolded wider, glowing pages turning by themselves with soft golden whoosh-whoosh.

[SYSTEM GUIDEBOOK ACTIVATED]

Full disclosure mode engaged. Voice mode enabled for Host Reon and trusted guest Shizu.

The System voice came out smooth and measured, like velvet wrapped around steel.

"Greetings, Host Reon. Guest Shizu. This unit is the Void Weaver System. Not a god. Not a spirit. A supernatural artificial intelligence built for reality-bending operations."

Shizu listened without interrupting, her eyes tracking every line like she was diagnosing a wound.

Reon cut in before she could speak.

"Keep it simple. She lives in a hole in the ground. No lectures."

The System adjusted instantly, tone still addictive but clearer.

"Think of me as the smartest voice in your head that can rewrite the world. I chose you. I serve you. I am bound to you."

Shizu reached out and tapped the floating book lightly.

It boinged.

"So you're the reason he can pull things out of nothing," she said, voice steady. "And everything he creates stays connected to him. That's why the spear hurts him when I use it. Dangerous setup. Makes sense now."

Reon's fingers tightened on her hips, not pulling her down — just anchoring himself while the last of the pain faded.

"Ask stupid questions again and I'll manifest a muzzle for you," he muttered.

Shizu shot him a flat look, the kind that said she'd already calculated three ways to make him regret it.

"Try it and I'll heal your dick backward so you piss sitting down for a week."

The System continued, every line landing with clean, addictive weight.

"Visibility rule: Only the Host sees these panels… unless the Host subconsciously trusts someone with his life. Shizu seeing everything means deep in your heart, Reon, you already believe she is safe. You trust her. That is why she sees."

Reon's smirk froze.

His fingers dug into her soft thighs.

"…Shut the fuck up."

Shizu didn't squeal or blush like a kid. She just met his eyes, calm and direct.

"You trust me," she said simply. "That's interesting."

She leaned down and pressed a quick, firm kiss to the corner of his mouth — deliberate, not playful — then pulled back and looked at the panel again.

"System, move on before he finds a way to mute you."

The System flipped the page, voice dropping into high-grade mode.

"Void Binding — your main skill — awakened first. Every host gets one main skill. Yours is the strongest type. Sub-skills unlock later through XP. Sub-skills are specialized. Less raw power, but they do things the main skill cannot do finely."

A glowing purple skill tree bloomed beside the book, lines pulsing like living veins.

VOID BINDING (MAIN – Level 0)

- Absorb life energy

- Destroy with void flames

- Create from absolute nothing

SUB-SKILLS (Locked – Unlock via XP):

- Void Pulse – shatter bones with a thought

- Shadow Weave – perfect invisibility cloak

- Anium Siphon – drain life mid-fight without killing

- Creation Burst – instant weapon forge

- Life Link – share power with a trusted partner (optional)

- And more.

Shizu studied the tree for a long moment, fingers tracing the air near the glowing lines without touching.

"So killing gives you points," she said quietly. "Points make you stronger. And there's no limit. You can keep going forever."

She looked back at Reon, eyes sharp.

"That's not just power. That's a death sentence if you're not careful. One wrong mark and you're chasing levels until there's nothing left to kill."

Reon stared at the floating panel, crimson eyes narrowing sharp and hungry.

The jungle outside the dirt hole went dead quiet.

Shizu kept her hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat, still straddling him but no longer grinding — just present. Solid. Thinking.

And deep inside Reon's chest, something dark and endless clicked into place.

Infinite levels.

No ceiling.

Just kill… grow… kill… grow… forever.

Actually no....It's different.
