"Selene!, it's time to eat", her mother shouted. "Help me prepare the table dear!".
Selene snap out of her dazed state, and answer her mother mother's call. " I'll be right there mom".
"The time passed by quickly, I was only daze for a moment. But forty eight minutes have already passed by".
Selene walked out to her room and entered the dinning room. She then started preparing dinner by placing the utensils on the table.
After she's done she entered the kitchen to help her mother.
"Mom let me help you bring the soup to the table"
Selenes mother answered in a concerned tone "Alright dear just be careful the bowl is hot"
Selene nonded her head slightly"Alright mom".
They slowly brought the food to the dinning room. Selene then placed the bowl slowly on the table, to prevent the soup from spilling.
"Mom, is dad already back from work?"
Her mother smiled slightly, "Yes dear your father just got back, he's just changing his clothes. He'll come out and eat with us after his done".
A deep voice suddenly inserted itself
into the conversation."I already finished changing clothes, let's start our dinner".
Selene noded "Alright, dad"
They all walked to the table and and sat down. Selene's father is seated in the head sit, while her mother is seated in the right side of her father. On the other hand, Selene is seated in the left side of her father.
They all started their dinner, it started a a silence.
Selenes father looked at her "How was your day dear, did you encounter any problems?".
Selenes lips curved into a smile "0h, my day was just fine dad!".
Her father looked at her skepticaly"Really?".
Selene nodded slightly"Yes".
Her father answered in a skeptical tone "Your mother told me that you don't look well everytime you got home...".
"Yes, you seems to be down". Her mother chimed in with a concerned tone.
Selene felt touch by the concern her parents shows to her.
She smiled wrighly and looked at her parents" I'm really just fine mom and dad, I was just tired all I need is a little rest, so please don't worry about me".
"Alright dear, but if you need anything your dad and I are always here for you". Her mother still looked at her concernly.
Her father nodded in agreement with
her mother." Your mother is right, were always by your side so don't be afraid to ask for our help"
Selene feeling touched smiled brightly to her parents. "Alright mom and dad, if I ever need anything I'll come to you".
With this conversation Selene seemed to forget her worries, about the her fear
of the countdown on her wrist.
They all continued their dinner happily, after their dinner Selene stand up and reached for the plates on the table.
Yet her mother stoped her from cleaning the table. " You should go to your room and rest dear, I'll do the cleaning".
Selene smiled, "Alright mom".
Selene walked towards her room and lock the door, she than sighed heavily.
She walked to her bed and sat heavily, she suddenly lay down flat on her bed looking at the celling in a daze.
Selene moved her wrist infront of her face, and looked at the remaining time 03:13:05.
"What's going to happen to me ones the timer is done?"
"Is it a sign for the end of the world?, just like in the novels I read".
"0r do I time travel?".
"No it might be worst..., since I kept on dreaming and seeing ghost because of that incident"
Selene could not fall asleep because of the thoughts inside her head. So she contemplated about her experiences that happened after the incident.
"This all started because of that incident. The book I touched in the church must have been a type of medium that connects me to see those creatures".
"Since that book had the symbol of an eye, the same symbol tattood unto my wrist. That bright light that shot onto my eyes must be the trigger that started to let me see those creatures".
"Yet there's no use of overthinking things now. It already happened and the timer is almost over".
"I'll be honest the first time I saw those creatures I felt afraid because those creatures looked uncanny. But I've sometimes gotten used to them for the past 3 months, yet I still felt afraid of them. They all just appeared as if they're just an illusion of the mind, but they also felt real. It made me feel as if I've gone insane".
"As I gaze at the timer, I thought it was just a timer for something that might appear like a zombie apocalypse. Yet there's this feeling inside of me, that the timer is somehow connected to those creatures".
"So I felt the dread of the unknown outcome, once the timer is up".
