Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Rhythm of Malice and the Blade of the Void

In the depths of the Void Dimension, where shadow merges with existence and the fabric of time dissolves, Akira, the Supreme Commander of Echoes, stood before the Blade Phantom. Akira's eyes glowed with a faint red hue, reflecting a holographic screen displaying Eiji's recent combat data. The numbers shifted rapidly, forming a complex pattern of the "Pulse Arsenal" transformations Eiji had unleashed at the palace.

Akira (with cold malice): "The Guardian is evolving faster than projected. His new ability, 'Temporal Weaponry Mastery', has made his rhythm unpredictable. He nearly unmasked me in the last fight. He is no longer a child playing with sand; he has become a true threat to our designs."

Blade Phantom (in a low, hissing voice): "His growth disturbs the timelines and destabilizes the dimension itself. We must send an entity capable of absolute temporal manipulation—a being that cannot be stopped by mere speed or swordplay. We have chosen 'Zero' for you."

Akira (with cautious appreciation): "Zero... a pure temporal entity, trackless, and capable of distorting time itself. He is stronger than any Echo we've released so far. But that is not enough. He must be accompanied by an emotional trigger—something to shatter the Guardian's rhythm from within."

Blade Phantom (wickedly): "Exactly. We will use the 'Void Rhythm' again, this time to incite hatred and revenge. Find a target with deep-seated malice against the Etherion Kingdom—someone who sees them as the cause of all their tragedies."

The next morning, in the physical world, golden sunlight filtered through the window of Eiji's house. Eiji sat with his parents, Miyoko and Akira. The atmosphere seemed calm on the surface, but Eiji felt a mysterious chill emanating from his father—a coldness that did not belong to this world.

Akira (with a suspicious, fake smile): "Eiji, you look exhausted lately. Are you staying up too late studying? And what do you do in your free time? I see you wearing a strange ring on your left hand—I haven't seen it before."

Eiji (with steady calm): "Father, I've just been practicing a new sport that requires a lot of focus and physical effort. And this ring? Just a simple gift from an old friend, nothing more."

Akira (Internal Thought): "A good liar. But his heartbeat quickens when he lies, and his Mark dims slightly. He is still hiding something, and that ring is no mere gift."

Akira (in a veiled warning tone): "Remember, son... strong emotions like anger and malice weaken a person's focus and make them easy prey for instability. Stay calm always; that is the key to true power."

Eiji (with cautious compliance): "I'll remember that, Father."

After Akira left for his work at the museum, Eiji and Miyoko sat together. Miyoko looked at her son with overflowing tenderness, trying to hold onto the childhood that was slipping away into the weight of dimensional responsibilities.

Miyoko (with deep affection): "Eiji, tell me about your adventures. What did you learn from your grandfather, Taiso? Tell me everything about the dimensions and how the palace looked."

Eiji relaxed in his mother's embrace, finding the safety he craved. He shared details of his training—how the sand obeyed him and his visions of other realms. "It was scary, Mother, but I feel a power I can't describe. Grandfather taught me to control the sand not just with strength, but with the rhythm of my soul."

In that moment, Eiji's Eternal Mark glowed faintly, and the voice of Grandmother Elara echoed from the depths of memory through the Mark.

Elara (nostalgically): "Ah, my daughter... I remember when you were small, trying to mimic the 'Time Jump' incantation. You always fell so clumsily!"

Miyoko (with a shy, youthful laugh): "Mother! Don't bring that up! Father was so strict during training; he'd get so angry when I didn't master it quickly."

Elara (warmly yet sadly): "Taiso loved you, Miyoko. He saw in you the rhythm of time we lost, and he feared your heart would break amidst these wars."

At the museum, Akira was leading a tour, explaining ancient history with practiced falsehood. Suddenly, a sharp headache struck him—thousands of needles piercing his skull from the pressure of the Void energy.

Akira (Internal Thought): "The pressure is mounting... the Void's power grows sharper the further it is from its home dimension. The Guardian's rhythm is jamming the timelines."

Excusing himself, Akira rushed to a secluded restroom and locked the door. The voice of the Blade Phantom echoed in his mind: "Return immediately, Commander. Zero is ready. It is time to plant the Void Rhythm in your target."

With a swift gesture of his secret ring, Akira opened a small portal and vanished from the real world.

Deep in the Void Dimension, a man bound by black energy chains named Karto stood trembling. He was a simple villager from the outskirts of Etherion whose life was destroyed by a massive flood while the rulers were preoccupied with war. Akira approached him.

Karto (in desperate rage): "Why am I here? Let me go! I've lost everything, isn't that enough?"

Akira (with terrifying calm): "I am here to give you what the Rulers denied you, Karto. Power to take revenge on those who ignored your cries while your family drowned."

Karto (bitterly): "They left us to die... Sekai and Hoshimi never looked back."

Akira (manipulatively): "Exactly. The malice you feel is the truest rhythm in existence. I will make you the 'Shadow of Vengeance.' I will give you Zero's power to tear their fabric apart just as they tore your life."

Akira placed his hand on Karto's forehead, and a dense black aura flowed into the villager's consciousness. Karto let out a scream that shook the Void, his form merging with the entity "Zero."

Akira (with cold victory): "Zero, you will handle the direct temporal combat—tear the fabric of time around the Guardian. And you, Karto, will be the shadow that strikes him with memories of failure and pain. Let us see how the Guardian fights two villains at once: one representing the chaos of time, and the other representing the never-ending malice of mankind."

The black aura surged from the Void toward the Etherion Kingdom, carrying the new threat.
