Chapter 1 - Am I a toddler now ?

Han suddenly woke up and opened his eyes quickly, breathing heavily. The last thing he remembered seeing was one of the enemy's spears piercing his left eye. He had thought he died that day.

"Ning you bastard !"

Han's blood boiled with anger and hatred because the reason they lost tha battle was originally due to the cunning and deceit plans of his enemy tribe the Shinzo. What made things even worse was the betrayal of one of his tribe's commanders, a man named Ning, who joined the enemy soldiers and stabbed them in the back.

Although the people of the Ting tribe were proud and revered honor, some soldiers had lost their honor and abandoned it in hopes of preserving their miserable lives.

Because of this cruel betrayal, they collapsed and Han lost his brothers in that battle. Han saw with his own eyes the way his brothers were killed. He felt pain, hatred, and bitterness over what happened and wished he could tear Ning's body into pieces and feed them to their hunting dogs.

Because of this overwhelming desire for revenge, Han did not notice where he was or what situation he was in. Without realizing it, he placed his hand over his left eye to check the damage done to it.

But something felt off...

It didn't make sense. Hadn't he lost his left eye? Then how could he see so clearly?

"Wait, where exactly am I?" Han wondered as he looked at the ceiling.

Although Han's thoughts were confused and his awareness was weak after the scene of a long spear pierced through his eye before he dies, he constantly felt that something was so wrong.

"Is it my eye again?"

Han raised his hand toward his left eye once more, but he was shocked as he lifted it!

"Why is my hand so small? And why is my skin white?!"

Han gasped nervously. Originally, his body had been large and muscular, and his wheat colored skin reflected his strength. But now Han was shocked by what he saw. Not only had his skin color changed, but the size of his hand had become like a toddler!

"W-wait, wait, wait! Am I dreaming ?!"

Han tried to look around. The place he was in looked like some kind of room... but why this room walls made of stone?

Everything around Han brought him shock after shock. Flowers inside a glass bottle? Strange bright glowing objects? The room he was in was illuminated.

"In the god's name, where am I?"

Han stared at the bright light above him.

He couldn't understand how there could be light inside a room, or why it was so bright!

The more Han looked around, the more shocked he became, causing him to have a severe headache. Without realizing it, he found himself screaming, but his screaming sounded more like a toddler's cry.

A few seconds later, a woman rushed inside the room then rushed towards him, she looked like she is in her late thirties and also she had a white skin. She spoke words Han couldn't understand, then lifted him to her chest and patted his head.

Although Han couldn't understand what the woman was saying, he understood that she was trying to comfort him. It seemed that somehow he had really become a toddler.

After that, the woman pulled her breast out to the child in her arms. Han felt nervous and embarrassed, but there was an instinct possessed by every child in existence—the feeling of hunger. Unable to resist himself, he began drinking the woman's milk.

A little later, the woman put the child back in his place and left the room again. Despite how strange everything was, Han guessed that this woman was his mother.

Han spent the entire day thinking and came to a few conclusions. The first was that he had either somehow been reborn into another life, or he was in heaven.

The tribes in Han's time believed that brave warriors eventually ends up in heaven. But Han did not think that the room with its stony walls was the heaven he dreamed off, so he leaned toward believing that he had been reborn.

"Does this mean I won't be able to kill that bastard?"

Han sighed sadly as he realized that he can't take his revenge anymore.

He didn't understand how all this happened, but he was somewhat happy that the gods had given him a new chance to live the peaceful life he had always dreamed of...

--------------------------------------

Two weeks passed since Han woke up again, and he discovered some new things. First, it seemed his name was now Alex. The name felt strange to him, but he realized it was his name because his mother constantly called him that while feeding him. So he decided that his name will be Alex from now on, and since the gods had given him a new life, he was happy to have a new name as well.

Second, he learned a little of this land's language through his mother's constant conversations with him. Although his mother took good care of him, he realized that her physical health was not good at all. It seemed she suffered from some illness, as he had seen her cry from pain several times before, which upset him. It also seemed that he had a dead father, or his father had abandoned them since he never seen him before.

One of the shocking things he realized was that this place was very different from what he remembered from his past. One time, his mother carried him outside while shopping, and he was truly astonished by what he saw.

Many houses were made of stone, and some buildings was so tall that it had multiple floors. Unlike in his old days, people now rode something fast and protected. He later learned these things were called cars. He also spotted some things in the sky that terrified him and made his blood run cold. There were huge creatures looked like the birds, only much larger, and some people were riding them. He didn't fully understand what they were, but from his mother he understood that they were called wyvern.

" what if one of those things attacks us?!" Alex became nervous at what he saw and imagined himself fighting those terrifying creatures.

The roads were crowded, people's clothing and methods of trade were different, and people exchanged pieces of paper for goods. Even the food was different. The smells were incredibly strong and truly delicious, but unfortunately, since he was still a toddler, he didn't have the chance to eat any of it.

Then Alex realized something that didn't shock him very much because he had already guessed it, he came from a poor family. The reason he realized this was because of the streets themselves and the differences between some buildings and others.

His current house was brown and looked shabby. Although his house itself amazed him with its beauty and craftsmanship, yet it could not compare at all to the other buildings around it. Another clue was that his mother walked around carrying him instead of riding one of those things that called cars, which made him realize they were poor.

This truth saddened Alex a little, but he accepted it because he had been used to living a very humble life in his previous life.

After that, he and his mother did not go out much during the following days, so his days were extremely boring. All he did was try to understand the room he was living in. It seemed that all the houses and streets in this place possessed the same bright object that illuminated everything. He concluded that humans had created something incredibly advanced that allowed them to produce such good lighting...

Month after month passed until Alex became two years old.

Unlike other children his age, Alex was quite unusual. His mother was surprised by his strange calmness. Normally, children were noisy and full of energy, but Alex was extremely quiet and enjoyed standing in front of random objects to study them. This made his mother think he had some kind of illness. Because of that, she brought a someone they call him a " doctor " to examine his health, but he was perfectly healthy, making the visit a waste of their money.

By the time he turned four, Alex had already learned the language spoken by the people of this place. Because of how quickly he learned, his mother and her friends who frequently visited were shocked. They began to believe that Alex was truly a genius and a special child, causing his mother to start teaching him letters and reading.

But what made him happiest was that he could finally eat human food.

"If I die now, I'll be happy after eating this divine food!"

Alex was drinking some soup while tears streamed down his face from happiness, making his mother slightly nervous at the sight.

Was there really a child who cried because food tasted so good?

As silly as it seemed, it made his mother very happy, causing her to make even more meals and different dishes for him, all of which were incredibly delicious.

By the age of seven, he could already read and write. His mother was truly excited about his progress, which led her to bring him many different books to read.

Alex loved reading because it was something completely new to him, and the books were truly entertaining. One book in particular caught his attention, a history book called The History of the Great Mage Voldrick.

Learning that magic existed made Alex incredibly excited. Although the concept of magic he knew from his previous life was completely different from what was described in the book, that only made him even more excited.

"It's magic! My gods, there really is magic in this place !"

Alex shouted excitedly as he held the book in his hands and began flipping through its pages quickly.

He read that humans in this era could use magic and perform many incredible things, such as throwing fireballs, controlling the wind, creating water, and many other strange and amazing spells. Alex wanted to learn magic, but it seemed that the books he currently owned contained no methods for learning it.

And so, Alex decided that his first goal would be to become a mage, while his final and most important goal would be to marry a beautiful woman and live the peaceful life he had always wished for.
