Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Voices in the Void Pavilion

Location: Hidden Sector, Celestial Heaven Sect – Void Pavilion

The Celestial Heaven Sect was a realm of light, laws, and order.

Yet tucked away behind star-enchanted walls and forgotten pathways lay a sealed courtyard—The Void Pavilion. Covered in black vines and untouched by disciples for over 300 years, it was said to house the remains of a traitor—a man who walked the Void Path and challenged the heavens… before vanishing mysteriously.

Now, Qin Huaian stood at its sealed entrance.

High Lord Tian Zeming's final words echoed in his mind:

> "If you must understand your path, start where it once ended."

Beside him, Qin Xiaoxiao examined the celestial chains lacing the doorway.

> "These seals were made to hold off even Saint Kings. Why would they send you here?"

Huaian said nothing.

But his Void Flame pulsed, as if recognizing something behind the barrier.

He pressed his palm to the gate.

The seals didn't resist.

They unraveled.

🕯️ Inside the Pavilion

The interior was dim, covered in layers of dust and time. Yet at its center stood an obsidian tablet, cracked but humming faintly.

At its base were scattered journals, relics, and a single jade orb suspended mid-air, gently glowing with Void resonance.

As Huaian stepped forward, the orb blinked—then spoke:

> "You who walk the Void… you are not the first."

A ghostly voice, calm and weathered.

From the orb rose a projection—a tall man with hair like smoke and robes darker than night. His eyes bore the mark of the Void Sovereign.

> "I am Li Wuzhen… the last Void Disciple of the Celestial Heaven Sect. Branded traitor. Marked for deletion. Forgotten by all… but the Void remembers."

---

📖 Li Wuzhen's Legacy

Li Wuzhen's memory began to flow from the orb:

Three centuries ago, he was a Genius of Light Qi, adopted by the Celestial Sect.

But he discovered that his mother was from a forbidden bloodline—the Shadowborn, connected to the Void.

As he cultivated both Light and Void, the heavens rejected him.

Rather than destroy him outright, the sect sealed him in this pavilion.

In isolation, he wrote dozens of Void-Manuscripts, recording insights now lost to the world.

Before his death… he hid a portion of his soul inside the orb.

> "You are the inheritor now," the voice said. "The path of the Void isn't just power. It's rebellion against a sky that fears those it can't control."

Then the orb dissolved into smoke—and merged into Huaian's spiritual sea.

Xiaoxiao picked up one of the scattered journals.

> "This man… he was like you. Cast out. Feared. But strong."

Huaian nodded slowly.

> "He wasn't destroyed. He left a path."

🌒 Nightfall – Secret Meeting

Later that evening, a disciple in green robes visited Huaian quietly.

He knelt and whispered:

> "Qin Huaian. Someone within the sect requests a secret audience. Midnight. Spirit Well Garden. She says you'll know her… by the frost in her voice."

Huaian's eyes narrowed.

Song Yueru.
