Rin's eyes darted between the two massive boss monsters. One was the Stone Crawler they had already been fighting, and now, a second, slightly smaller one, with jagged glowing purple spikes across its back, stepped out from the shadows.
Lyle's knees buckled. "Two… TWO bosses? Who designed this dungeon?!"
The spear woman groaned. "Low-rank dungeon, my foot. This is a death trap!"
The shield man gripped his shield tightly. "We're all gonna die… again."
Rin gritted his teeth. "Relax. I've got this… mostly."
He glanced at the system window.
Recommended Strategy: Shadow Step + Quick Strike + Evasive Maneuver.
Rin felt a thrill. "Mostly, huh?"
The first boss slammed its claws into the floor, sending debris flying toward Rin. He activated Shadow Step and vanished, reappearing behind the creature. Quick Strike! He slashed across its leg, leaving deep gashes.
The second boss lunged from the darkness. Rin barely dodged, rolling across the floor, system glowing faintly.
Lyle yelled, "Kid! You can't handle both of them!"
Rin wiped blood off his sword—his own from a minor cut. "Watch me."
The shield man groaned again. "I hate my life."
The monsters roared in unison, shaking the entire chamber. Stones cracked and small chunks of rock fell from the ceiling. Rin realized that one wrong step could crush them all.
New Skill Available: Double Shadow Step (Unlocked)
Rin blinked. Another skill? He felt the system hum inside him. "Okay… now we're cooking."
He activated Double Shadow Step, vanishing midair, and reappeared between the two monsters. In one swift motion, he slashed both, leaving deep wounds in their legs. Both bosses screamed, staggered, and collided with each other.
Lyle's jaw hit the floor. "I… I can't even process this."
The spear woman muttered, "F-rank… huh… maybe not so weak after all."
The shield man groaned, dragging himself toward Rin. "I'm officially done with this dungeon. Done."
Rin ignored him. He activated Evasive Maneuver as the larger monster reared back and smashed the floor. Dust and small rocks shot into the air. He rolled, landed behind it, and slashed its back.
Quest Update: Boss Monster #1 – 25% HP
Boss Monster #2 – 40% HP
Rin smirked. "That's more like it."
But just as he prepared another attack, something strange happened. The smaller boss raised its claw, and a purple aura started swirling around it.
Warning: Boss Monster #2 Enraged
Lyle yelped, "Enraged?! You're telling me one of them gets stronger?! This dungeon is cheating!"
Rin's grin didn't fade. "Cheating or not… we'll see who's luckier."
The system window pulsed again.
New Skill Available: Counter Strike
Rin's eyes sparkled. "Counter Strike… perfect."
The enraged monster lunged at him. Rin activated Counter Strike just as it swung. The attack bounced off his sword with a metallic clang, the force of the blow sending a shockwave toward the other monster. Both creatures staggered.
Lyle staggered back. "Kid… you're officially terrifying."
Rin smirked. "Just getting started."
The dungeon trembled. The monsters roared in fury. And Rin knew that the fight wasn't over yet…
