"These annoying pests… I have no patience entertaining you fools! Begone to my sight!" The golden orbs exploded upon making contact with the notorious abominations. Despite the wise King's attack, the abominations relentlessly continued to pour like a swarm of ants trying to overwhelm an elephant. Useless, futile yet possible.
"Hah… hah… your majesty…" The soft hard breathing echoed loudly, behind Gilgamesh was Tingyun, sweat slid down to her chin.
"Why am I feeling drained…?"
"Because I've been using your mana. As a servant, a heroic spirit, I have no physical form and merely maintain my existence through you. Opening the gates must've consumed a lot of your mana." Gilgamesh explained briefly, eyes flickering between the abominations.
Tingyun furrowed her eyebrow, she kept getting introduced to new and mysterious stuff she could barely keep up. Perhaps she was tired because of these troubles, or maybe because of this 'mana' continuous consumption made her exhausted.
"Tingyun, do you think you could handle more minutes until I eradicated these annoying pests."
The question stays midair, waiting for her response. Before shaking her head.
"I-I'm sorry, your majesty. I don't think I could continue any further, I'm just a weak and fragile fox…" She forced her laugh, and Gilgamesh hummed in response.
"Very well, you've done well." Gilgamesh cut off the mana connection between them, preparing to use his own.
"Hah! Home!!!! Run!!" A baseball bat suddenly connected to the head of the abomination, before flinging back so hard it practically flew off beyond the horizon!
"Hey, don't just run off without our consents!" An arrow made of ice flies past, hitting the abominations with perfect accuracy, and slowly they become a solid sculpture.
"Ho? Perfect timing." His gaze shifted to the new voices.
There, a man with short grey hair, his golden eyes, and a long brown coat, underneath white t-shirt, holding a black and gold striped baseball bat. Next to him was a pink haired girl, wearing a blue dress and white polo. A jacket hangs in her waist.
"You two, are you alright?" The man turned around to face Gilgamesh and Tingyun, he smiled meekly.
"What happened here? I saw bodies lying on the ground on our way here, is something wrong here?" The girl asked worriedly, walking next to the gray-haired man.
"Benefactors… thank you for your help, sigh~ I don't think we will be able to survive any longer if you haven't arrived." Tingyun shook her head, her gaze then shifted to the king.
"Your majesty, it seems our benefactors thoroughly helped us eliminate danger, isn't that great?"
"Your majesty?" The gray haired man and pink haired girl echoed, their faces morphed into confusion.
"Hm. Indeed, unnecessary aid but needless to say, commendable individuals." Gilgamesh nodded his head, as Tingyun smiled at him, her tail swaying.
"March, Caelus, here you are. It seems you've managed to save them, goodness, I'm not really built for this kind of adventure." A middle aged man's voice snapped Caelus and March out of their trance, they looked back.
"Mr. Yang!" March waved her hand enthusiastically, a smile beaming in her face.
"I'm glad you two are safe," He sighs, then looks at Gilgamesh and Tingyun.
"They are…?" He raised his eyebrow, and Tingyun opened her mouth.
"Benefactors, I'm Tingyun, the Ambassador of the Whistling Flame Merchant. This is his majesty, Gilgamesh." She pressed her hand together, smiling aloofly.
"Gilgamesh???" Welt widened his brown eyes, staring at the wise king.
"Yes, his highness, Gilgamesh." Tingyun replied.
"Ho? Interesting." Gilgamesh smirked at the man, his eyes already knowing him. The one that kind of looks where all your secrets are unrevealed before him.
"Mr. Yang, you know him?" Caelus asked, March nodded along the way.
"Yeah, you seem more… Shocked?"
"I… calling him 'know' is just not the right word, rather… how should I say it… my world knows him." His eyes torn whether to tell the truth or simply dismiss it.
Looking at Gilgamesh's amused eyes, he finally decided to drop it or to be exact, just give the truth.
"You can say he's worldly famous because of the deeds he has done to mankind--to my world." He finally breathed a sigh of relief, pushing his glasses up.
"You've done your research well, mongrel. Heh, praising you wouldn't be enough to show how magnificent you've performed to my garden." He shook his head in amusement, before looking at Tingyun.
"Vessel, let's go. I have no luxury to waste time around, and these pests lying on the ground- are displeasing to my sight." He turned around, walking ahead of them.
"Benefactors, please follow me. I'll lead you to Central Starskiffs Heaven." Her foxian ears twitch, as if sensing Gilgamesh had already gone slightly ahead.
"Huh, that Gilgamesh guy is pretty arrogant, even his voice." March looked up ahead.
"Is he really that famous in your world, Mr. Yang?" March then shifted his gaze at Welt.
"Hm, yeah. He is pretty famous, but to think he is here, and completely different from what the sculpture and text says about him…" His last words commented quietly, as if he was talking to himself.
"Well, Mr. Yang, Caelus, let's go! If we stayed here for too long, we might get left behind by that Gilgamesh guy!"
"Yeah! Onwards, the journey!"
"I… sigh, slow down." Despite that, his words merely scattered through the air, disappearing into nothingness.
"...to think I'll be able to meet up with Gilgamesh, I thought it would be a coincidence, just a similar name… but it looks like that was not the case."
Back to the other side, Gilgamesh crossed his arms, while Tingyun stood next to him. Their eyes stared at the big block blocking their ways.
"Uhhh…" Tingyun scratches her head, clearly not knowing what to do. Not because she doesn't know how to move that thing, rather, it was the wise king waiting for their benefactors.
"Where were those fools?" Gilgamesh tapped his foot, agitated.
"Your majesty, please ease your anger–" She tried to talk but ultimately got cut off by Gilgamesh.
"Fool! My temper remains calm." He glanced at her.
"I'm simply waiting for those two to arrive, my time is precious for those two to waste it."
"That… Understood." A soft sigh escaped from her lips.
"Oh, Tingyun." Gilgamesh called out.
"Yes, your highness?" She perked up, glancing at him.
"Has your fatigue disappeared? Being my vessel, you should always remain unyielding. If you were easily splintered, that alone shows you're unworthy to be my vessel."
'This guy… Do you really think I want to be your vessel!?' But alas, despite her rebellious thoughts, what came out of her mouth was opposite.
"...yes, your majesty." She lowered her head, already resigning herself.
"There's no need to apologize, what you lack is not entirely your fault, I won't be putting blame on you." Surprisingly, the wise king didn't criticize her, instead offering oddly understanding and consults.
"Raise your head, Tingyun." She looked up, Gilgamesh already smiling at her. And the golden ripple opened the interdimensional space. It spit out a battle contained with unknown yet abundant liquid.
"Here, take it. Use it well, you're my vessel and as well as you are under my protection."
He throws it at her, this sudden act causes Tingyun to momentarily stunned and her Instinct kicks in, catching the object. Her eyes widened in surprise as he gazed at the abundance of energy in a form of liquid.
"T-this…? Your majesty, what is this?" Her voice hitched with excitement and curiosity.
"Potion of Youth, just a potion I obtained during my journey to attain immortality." Gilgamesh spoke calmly, though his face engraved a haughty smirk.
'Potion of Youth…? To think I'll be able to get hands on this precious thing! Not even the Elixir Seekers' could produce such an extraordinary.'
"Your majesty… Thank you! I'll treasure it well!"
"Hm."
Gilgamesh hummed in response, Tingyun's eyes stared at blue liquid in fascination, not many could lay hands in this extraordinary potion. She might not know how this thing works, but there's one undeniable truth; it's luxury!
The golden sunlight high above the sky, the scent of fresh air yet tainted with metallic property. The wise king finally broke down, his gaze sharpened like a cat, as footsteps finally echoed behind. Without turning his head, as such no king would willingly turn their head.
"You've finally arrived, mongrels. To think you had the audacity to waste my precious time waiting."
"Uhh--hey, Gilgamesh-guy," March awkwardly called out, despite the fact she was talking to the wise king.
"Miss Tingyun, there you are! We've been looking around for you and geez, this place is huge. No wonder why we got lost." Caelus also joined in, his fingerless gloves pressing on the back of his head.
"Hoh, it seems we were blocked because of this container." Welt looked curiously added.
"Yes, may I ask you for favors, benefactors?" Her lips curled up as her hands pressed together.
"Will you be able to move it, there's a controller ahead of us that requires strength to move it– with your extraordinary muscles, could you do it for us?" Her green eyes lit up mischievously.
"Because you know, I'm a weak fox girl and my fragile body couldn't handle such an overbearing task~"
March looked at her blankly, her voice echoed flat.
"So much for being fragile… Why are you treating us like a worker?" She placed her hand on her hips, looking at Tingyun's mischievous smile.
"Calm down March," Welt took the lead, facing Tingyun.
"Miss Tingyun, regarding the control panel, is it across from here? If so, I can handle it."
"Yes, just behind those containers, I would appreciate it if you control those containers to move to the other side, so we could pass through."
Her green eyes then shifted to the wise king whose arms still crossed on his chest, crimson eyes stared at them, waiting.
"We should probably… move now, right, March?" Caelus whispered to March.
"Yeah, I feel like Gilgamesh may get mad at us if we continue to delay…" March whispered back.
----------
it's bad, repetitive, limited words, and yet, will you stay and support this uneducated mongrel?
Also I'll not be making more than 1700 words, you know, this novel is simply satire and straightforward. Or perhaps I should try doing more than 1700 words if I have free time, though I'm mediocre at doing this, I might need help from Ai by reassigning the sentences or correcting the words I'll be using and might take between two to three days.
