「Ten Months Before The Evaluation Ceremony」
Krael awoke on his sixteenth birthday to an agonizing headach. It began as a dream, but it was more than that because as images of a life before in a world far different, yet very similar to this one began to apoear and merge with his concious and subconcious mind. It took Jack a while to realize that these were memories. Memories of his life from before, memories of his death, and memories of his afterlife.
"I transmigrated." Krael whispered as the pain began to recede.
[REQUIRED CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN MET...
STARTING PROTOCOL OMEGA ONE ONE ALPHA X...
ANOMALY DETECTED... AFFINITY: ALL]
Krael was taken by surprise by the announcement of the system, and wound up tripping over his bed.
[Most optimal form of cultivation: Cultivation of the foundation.]
[「Description:」Focus on strengthening you base foundation for now. Your Elemtal cultivation can wait.]
"So cultivation is possible?" Krael thought, knowing for some time, just like most people, what his affinity was.
-- Colorless --
Krael had originally believed, like everybody else, that cultivating would be impossible for him. Nobody that had a colorless affinity had ever become a cultivator, and now he understood why.
"While normal cultivation automatically filters out elements that don't align with one's affinity, allowing for normal progression, nobody seems to know about being able to conciously filtering out all elements to absorb neutral spirit essence. If they do, it's been kept secret." Krael continued thinking as he began to realize what he had been given. "I can change my destiny. In fact, I could potentially chang the destiny of all colorless cultivators."
Krael looked out his bedroom window as he contemplated what he would do.
"I have ten months until the Evaluation Ceremony. Maybe I could surprise them all." Just as Krael thought this, a knock resounded on his bedroom door.
"Krael, are you awake?" Krael heard his mother call through his bedroom door.
"Yeah. I'm awake, mom." His mother opened the door after he replied.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart. How are you feeling?" She asked referring to his initial colorless affinity.
Everybody began as colorless, but over time as they grew, each person's elemental affinity would awaken with their personslity being the primary dictator of one's element. However, while all of Krael's classmates eventually grew into their affinity, his remained colorless, and as such, his mother was a bit worried he might fall into depression, which wasn't uncommon for those who remained colorless.
"I'm feeling much better, actually, mom. Uh, can I ask to spend the day on my own?" Seeing the frown on his mother face, Krael continued. "Don't worry, mom. I just want to spend the day thinking about my future. That's all."
"Oh, okay. Sure, today is your birthday after all, and it's not every day one becomes an adult." She replied with a bitter smile. "He seems okay, but I still worry about him." She thought as she left him alone to go make breakfast. "Just don't miss breakfast!" She called back to him.
"I won't!"
Krael sat in a comfortable position and began using the cultivation technique he was taught in school.
[WARNING! CULTIVATION TECHNIQUE IS INEFFICIENT!]
Krael was almost instantly interrupted by his system.
"Then how am I..." Before Krael could finish his thought a technique for cultivating he has never read about in any of his classes formed in his mind, yet as it took shape, he could easily see how much more efficient the technique was compared to all the ones he learned about. After the system finished 'teaching' Krael this new technique, he immediately began to use it.
His cultivation went from a slow centuries long pace to near instantaneous as he broke into the first level of the first cultivation realm. In a matter of seconds, Krael had become a Novice Basic Elementalist.
[You have just broken through to the first level of Basic Elemintalist. Congratulations you have become a Novice Basic Elementalist.]
The system resounded in his ears, or rather his mind. He continued to cultivate after getting over his initial shock, however he learned that reaching the second level; Apprentice Basic Elementalist; was going to take much longer for him to attain. Deciding to take a break, he went and joined his mother and sisters for breakfast.
Krael's father was a soldier for the Imperial Court and was often away on duty, so it was normal for him to be the only male in the house. He was use to it, even though his sisters often picked on him. Though, recently, they became more aggressive as the would bully him for his colorless affinity. Today, however, he ignored their verbal jabs as he was going to make sure they regretted bullying him.
After breakfast, Krael returned to his room to continue cultivating. He cultivated the whole day even skipping lunch and dinner, having lost track of time.
[You have broke through to the second level of Basic Elementalist. Congratulations, you are now an Apprentice Basic Elementalist.]
It took him the rest of the day, but Krael finally reached the second level. Judging by how long it took for him to breakthrough to the second level of the first realm compared to how long it took him to breakthrough to the first level, Krael calculated that he shoukd be in the mid range or the sixth level of Basic Elementalist by the time that all sixteen year olds in the year to receive their evaluation. A ceremony that both marked the day that all current sixteen year olds left home to start their journey, as well as, the moment one would find out their estimated potential.
