Upon hearing this, Su Mianmian abruptly turned her head, but the force made her even more dizzy. "What are you angry about?" Gu Yizhou's deep gaze remained fixed on Su Mianmian's fierce yet adorable face.
"As a married woman, accepting flowers from other men, drinking with a man who has feelings for you—if I hadn't shown up, he might have had to carry me home. Tell me, shouldn't I be angry?"
Gu Yizhou spoke clearly and calmly, each word logical and reasoned. After hearing Gu Yizhou's accusations, Su Mianmian's previously puffed-up cheeks softened, and her tone lowered considerably. "Did you see Tang Yunzheng giving me flowers?"
Seeing Gu Yizhou staring at her without answering, Su Mianmian felt even more guilty, her red lips trembling, "I can explain all of that..." Gu Yizhou said leisurely, "Then explain." Su Mianmian rubbed her temples, her voice soft and sweet from the alcohol.
"But my head hurts so much right now, I don't want to talk. Can I explain tomorrow?" Hearing this, Gu Yizhou's heart sank slightly, and he had to temporarily abandon his plan to use this opportunity to lecture her.
He reached out and lifted her head, placing it on his lap. "Besides your headache, is there anything else that's bothering you?" Su Mianmian hummed softly, feeling Gu Yizhou's dry fingers gently massaging her temples, instantly feeling much better.
"You have no energy, and your vision is blurry..." Gu Yizhou's voice was low. "From now on, you're not allowed to drink without me by your side." Su Mianmian obediently responded, her voice growing softer. "I know."
As she finished speaking, her pink lips smacked twice, and her eyelids slowly closed. Gu Yizhou looked down at the little drunkard on his lap, gently brushing the hair that was covering her face away.
A glistening tear slipped from her collar. Gu Yizhou glanced at the butterfly tassel pendant, his expression softening. Su Mianmian didn't know how long she had slept when she suddenly felt herself sinking into a pile of warm, soft cotton.
Her eyes slowly opened, and what came into view was Gu Yizhou's well-defined features. Dark eyes, a high, straight nose, lips that were neither too thin nor too thick… Su Mianmian's wet eyes narrowed slightly, and she suddenly reached out and pressed her finger against Gu Yizhou's lips.
The feel was soft and elastic, exactly as she had imagined. Just as she was about to continue her mischief, her finger was grabbed. Gu Yizhou's dark eyes swirled with inky blackness. "Awake? Do you recognize me?"
They had just arrived home, and Gu Yizhou was carrying her to the bed. Before he could even leave, some young girl had taken advantage of him. Su Mianmian blinked a couple of times, seemingly awake, but in reality, she was still completely under the influence of alcohol. "I recognize you, you're Gu Yizhou."
Gu Yizhou's lips slowly curved into a smile. "Oh? Then Gu Yizhou is your…" Su Mianmian immediately interrupted, "Brother-in-law!" Gu Yizhou's expression changed. He knew he wouldn't take it a third time; it seemed he was really going to teach her a lesson.
Just as he was about to unleash his anger, Su Mianmian's lips curved into a smile, revealing two small dimples on her cheeks. "Just kidding. I remember, you're my husband."
Husband… Since they got their marriage certificate, Su Mianmian had rarely called him that, at most occasionally calling him Gu Yizhou in a slightly awkward way. This was the first time she had called him husband.
Gu Yizhou was successfully pleased by those two words. A smile played on his lips as his large hand gently stroked Su Mianmian's delicate chin. "Good girl." "So, do you want to go to sleep now, or should your husband carry you to take a bath?"
Su Mianmian sniffed the smell of alcohol on her body and wrinkled her nose. "I'll take a bath first, but I don't want you to carry me."
She suddenly sat up abruptly. Gu Yizhou, who was leaning slightly down to look at her, couldn't back down in time and bumped his forehead against Su Mianmian's, a sharp pain shooting through his lips. "Ouch!" Su Mianmian clutched her forehead, looking like she was in more pain than him.
"Are you alright?" Gu Yizhou, disregarding his own discomfort, quickly reached out to rub her forehead. Her skin was delicate, and it was already red. Su Mianmian tilted her head back and noticed a trickle of blood seeping from Gu Yizhou's lips. She frowned. "Your lip is hurt."
Gu Yizhou hummed in response, his eyes filled with concern, his hands continuing their work. "It's okay, it doesn't hurt."
"How can it not hurt? It's bleeding..." Su Mianmian pouted, looking aggrieved, and reached out to touch his lips. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Maybe my forehead is just hard. When I was little, I always lost to my dad when we played 'Bullfight'."
Gu Yizhou let out two soft laughs. The drunken Su Mianmian seemed even more charming and adorable than usual. "What are you laughing at? You're bleeding, how can you laugh?"
Su Mianmian straightened up, aligning herself with Gu Yizhou, who was bent over by the bed. "Let me blow on it for you." She said, her lips slightly pursed, blowing out a cool breeze that was sweet with a hint of alcohol. Gu Yizhou's Adam's apple bobbed, his eyes growing increasingly dark.
Su Mianmian, unaware of Gu Yizhou's change, continued blowing on him, when suddenly a shadow fell over her.
The next second, warm lips pressed against hers. Su Mianmian blinked, her eyes still wet, not understanding what was happening. A large hand gripped the back of her neck, forcing her head forward.
Then, her lips were completely enveloped in his, a wet, slippery sensation slowly tracing her lip line. Su Mianmian felt as if she had been electrocuted, becoming even more dizzy and weak. "Breathe."
A husky voice gently reminded her in her ear. Then, the warm sensation briefly withdrew, and Su Mianmian seemed to come back to life, taking a deep breath, her chest heaving.
Just as she was about to take a second breath, Gu Yizhou pressed his lips against hers again. This time, it was far less gentle than before, possessive and forceful, his thick, fragrant saliva caressing their intertwined tongues, as if he wanted to devour her whole.
Su Mianmian's mind went blank. She tilted her head back to receive his kiss, but after a moment, she couldn't take it anymore and protested softly, pushing against his chest with her small hands. Gu Yizhou reluctantly withdrew from her lips.
Su Mianmian's breathing was rapid, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes were glazed, still not fully recovered from the passionate kiss. Gu Yizhou was also somewhat overwhelmed, his breathing slightly erratic. His thumb traced the glistening trace left on her lips. "Can you still take a bath by yourself?"
Su Mianmian nodded softly, as if only then realizing what had just happened. She buried her head deeply and shyly murmured, "Mmm."
Gu Yizhou saw a blush spreading across the tips of her ears, and his heart melted. He grabbed her slender waist, lifted her off the bed, and carried her straight to the bathroom, tenderly preparing a bath for her. "Then you shower, I'll wait for you outside. Call me if you need anything."
Su Mianmian said "Okay," and only after hearing the bathroom door close did she exhale and slowly sink into the bathtub. The moment the warm water enveloped her body, Su Mianmian couldn't help but recall the kiss from earlier.
Dizzy, numb, all her strength gone. She thought, so this is what kissing feels like, a bit like being drunk. Gu Yizhou leaned against the bathroom door for a while, then went out onto the balcony to light a cigarette, gradually calming the restlessness in his heart.
That kiss was intended to be just a fleeting experience, but the taste was too wonderful. He, who usually had excellent self-control, almost lost control. Recalling that sweetness, that full, soft touch, Gu Yizhou slightly raised his chin and took another deep drag of his cigarette.
Su Mianmian didn't know how long she soaked in the tub when she heard Gu Yizhou knocking on the door outside, startled awake. She'd been soaking in the bath too comfortably, and with the added effect of the alcohol, she'd accidentally fallen asleep. Su Mianmian quickly replied, "Coming right out."
After drying herself with a towel, Su Mianmian realized she'd forgotten to bring her pajamas. After struggling for a few minutes, she finally mustered the courage to ask Gu Yizhou for help through the bathroom door. "Gu Yizhou, could you pass me a nightgown?"
Gu Yizhou saw Su Mianmian's hazy, graceful figure through the frosted glass door, and the restlessness he'd just suppressed began to resurface. "Just a moment." Leaving those words, he went to the walk-in closet and picked out a pink lace nightgown.
Su Mianmian's slender, white arm peeked out from the crack in the door and snatched the nightgown from Gu Yizhou's hand. A moment later, she emerged from the bathroom like a jasmine flower glistening with dew.
Gu Yizhou glanced at her half-wet hair; glistening water droplets trickled down her collarbone and slowly disappeared into her neckline. A small patch of her pajamas was damp, clinging to her body and revealing the slight curves of her skin. Gu Yizhou's throat bobbed. "Why isn't your hair dry?"
