Arthur woke slowly, his body voicing its complaints over being left to lie on the floor. Rubbing his eyes lazily, he looked up and noticed a red carpet.
He tilted his head. I'm sure that it wasn't there before.
The carpet reminded Arthur of ones found in throne rooms. A bulb flickered on top of his head.
Quickly sprinting to his room, he donned a blue cape he had bought as a child.
Fixing his hair, he stared at the mirror and nodded. He looked as knightly as one could be.
Returning to the carpet, he began following it.
It led him through the house to the back exit. Opening the door, he was met with Higari's garden.
Usually, the garden was undecorated and empty, an executive decision Higari had made to prevent gnomes from being dueled by Arthur. Right now, however, it was filled.
A red carpet continued forward, reaching towards a metallic throne.
On the throne sat Higari wearing a makeshift crown, his face cold and regal.
Surrounding the carpet were potted plants, shivering as the wind blew on them.
"Arthur Boyle!" The King said, his voice booming. "Come forth and meet your king!"
Arthur straightened immediately.
His gait was calm and his head was tilted upwards.
Shoulders back, chest puffed, the vassal walked towards his king.
Arriving at the bottom of the throne, he kneeled with his head lowered.
"Arthur Boyle, my loyal vassal." The king murmured, his voice softening. "You have worked hard, haven't you?"
"For ten years, you proved your dedication to becoming a knight. On the day of your test, you not only managed to pass but excel."
The vassal lowered his head further, overwhelmed by the praise.
"I merely did what my duties required, my lord." He said, his voice soft.
"Nonsense!" The king exclaimed. "There is nothing 'mere' about your effort."
"Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain. You, Arthur Boyle, have spent your whole life bearing that mountain. Such a thing cannot go unrewarded."
"I, King Higari, with the power vested in me, knight you."
"You are no mere squire. Your heart beats with the spirit of dragons and your blood runs with the might of giants. If you are not a knight, then I fear no one shall ever be worthy of the title."
"Rise, Sir Arthur Boyle."
The knight rose and met his king's eyes.
Getting up from his throne, Higari held up a sword for his son.
It had a hilt shaped like a cross and its sheath was blocky.
The hilt and the sheath were pure white. Flawless.
The craftsmanship, the love, the care that had gone into it was bare for all to see.
Arthur raised his hands slowly and grasped the sword.
His voice trembled.
"I, Sir Arthur Boyle, vow to continue my path as an honorable knight of the kingdom."
Warmth engulfed Arthur's whole body. It was different from the one that came when Arthur used his quirk. Gentler. It reminded him of a warm blanket. Of hot chocolate on the day of a thunderstorm.
Lost in the sensation, it took a while for him to notice what had happened.
There stood father and son, locked in an embrace.
Minutes passed and Higari finally opened his mouth.
"I am proud of you, my little knight."

jinkies
idk if i did a good job with this one since im not good with soft scenes. Tell me what yall think
Also this officially marks the end of childhood and the beginning of the UA school year.
ALSO
i have two options for fitting Arthur into 1A.
First: I kick one of the 1A kids into 1B and delete one of the 1Bs
Second: I let 1A have an extra kid (which i THINK canon wudnt let happen but its me fic so whatevs)

Also a warning:
For the people familiar with Brandon Sanderson's work, you may have noticed Arthur only uses 4 metals instead of the usual 16.
Thats intentional and that is how itll likely stay. All 16 metals are absurdly overpowered together if u put them in MHA. Plus, where wud atium even come from?
That isnt the only difference between the quirk and the novel power. Here's the main ones:
1. Only 4 metals
2. There is no limit to the "rate" at which Arthur can burn his metals unlike traditional mistborn who only have the standard and flare.
3. If Arthur spends too long burning his metals, instead of his physiology changing, his body overheats.
4. The "rate" or strength of Arthur's burning increases with how knightly he feels.
That should be it.
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk!
Be sure to leave reviews or a powerstone or smth. (its not like they make me happy or anything... hmph.. baka)
