Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 – Aftermath

[CAMARAX KINGDOM – CASTLE CAMARAX]

[Two Weeks Later]

The faint sounds of kissing could be heard from the corner of the palace's courtyard.

"Arthos…sorry to interrupt, but you are needed." Percy whispered as he snuck up on the couple. Arthos and Neva blushed slightly being caught kissing in a hidden corner.

"Also, Princess Elencia asked to please find and bring Kristan and Wain. They are needed for the ceremony as well. They are in the garden; can you get them?" Percy asked.

Arthos and Neva walked out of the great hall of Castle Camarax, through the elaborate hallways filled with guards and arriving guests and into the secluded garden. As soon as they entered the garden, Neva grabbed Arthos' hand and the two walked holding hands as they looked for their missing companions.

Behind a marble statute covered by a pergola, they found their missing companions. Kristan and Wain sharing a passionate kiss as they had for days now since arriving to the castle.

"Kristan…please go easy on him. I'm afraid he is going to faint or worse." Arthos warned.

Wain blushed a deep red being discovered in this manner.

Kristan smiled and said, "five more minutes?"

The great hall luminated brightly like heaven itself. Hundreds of candles had been placed along with dozens of banners of the victorious army. Sitting on the throne was King Isandor, regal and elegant. By his side was Princess Elencia and Prince Luceran.

The court herald voice rang loud, like a sharp trumpet blast, immediately capturing the audience's full attention.

"Behold our triumphant host and king, King Isandor!"

King Isando stood, waved his hand to his loyal subjects and honored guests. The grand hall resonated with a thunderous wave of applauses, cheers, and stomping. The King lowered his hand which was accompanied by silence.

"Today we feast, not for conquest but for courage. We feast to honor the hundreds of brave men and women that gave their life defending Ray village from the orc hoard."

"We specially honor the brave warriors from Scavenger Guild, Sir Percy, Sir Wain, Sir Hector, Sir Kay, Lady Nevariel, Lady Kristan, and their commander Sir Arthos the Verdant Knight."

A thunderous cheer erupted. Many of those present in the great hall had seen firsthand the valor and honor displayed by these foreigners. Against overwhelming odds, they defended a village that was not their own, earning them the gratitude of Camarax and the crown.

"As a reward for your valor, I award you these spoils of war. The famed Black Knight Girdle, a powerful artifact from times long past. In addition, I present to you the gloves, boots, shield, and sword taken from the orc chieftain, each rare and of excellent craftsmanship."

"Let this be the beginning of a new era of peace between Camarax and Avalor."
