Chapter 11 - chapter 10

At first It was disorienting.

His mind would often blur and he would lose touch with his body.

But he was always able to put them back together, careful not to lose either less both be damned.

In the fog there were no paths to follow, no ground to walk on.

No places to go.

It was simply an empty white void.

And in that void everything existed together but were separated by will and perspective.

If the heart had remain asleep, he and Jack would've remain stagnated.

Trapped forever

But he was able to force the heart to remember, to beat.

And now Harris perspective was shifting due to his and the heart's will and his body was frantically trying to keep up.

Pain.

Pain echoed through his entire being.

It was as if his mind was going through layers upon layers.

And each time Harris would have to re-imagine his body over and over again.

"When will this end" He thought.

"How tedious" he thought

"How has it been" He thought.

As time passed, Harris simplified his design.

The human body was just too intricate to keep reproducing

Instead he focused on his organs, veins, arteries, capillaries and brain while his bones and muscle fibre became feeble but just strng enough to keep his body together.

Later He abandoned his eyes has they weren't really needed, there was no the to see.

Then his skin, leaving his muscles bare.

More time passed, by now Harris barely resembled a human though this helped in reducing the reducing the amount of mental power lost.

He was slowly losing consciousness.

"How lo...ng is...left"

And finally he felt a new kind of pain.

A familiar sensation.

Like tiny needles scratching against his bare flesh.

"Sand"

Quick, he re-imagined his body back to it's proper form and took in a deep breath.

"Finally....there you are"

An ominous shadow was casted over him.

The smell of blood and rotten flesh permeated the air.

Chained before him withing a cyclopean tower.

Stripped of her glistening black skins and left to rot.

Was mother.

"Let's end this nightmare"

Harris let out an heavy breath and sat than on blood red sand.

"I see"

"You think am here to kill you"

"But you're wrong, am here to offer you a choice"

"You can choose death now for yourself and for your children and end all this suffering or"

"You can fight back and die"

Mother remained silent for moment but then chains rattled.

She raised her head and stared at Harris with her hollowed out eyes.

Blood dripped unto the sand.

And she said with a painful voice.

"I choose neither...leave"

"Is that so"

Harris wasn't shocked at her response, he knew all too well that there people who would rather suffer through pain than be saved.

"I can understand your children's but Is this your punishment, for blocking your heart and thoughts, for not listening to theirs, for being lenient"

She simply responded "yes"

Harris shook his head.

"That's enough lies"

"Just say the truth, you missed them"

Mother remained silent.

"Your people were all killed, you built a kingdom in blood, in the blood of others who were trying to stop what you went through and after all that, after accomplishing your grand goal"

"You were still hollow inside"

"No amount of love, no amount a prain could fill that hole"

"So what did you do"

The chains rattled violently.

A low growling sound shook the fog.

"You distant yourself from them, saying yo love them but never bothered to listen"

"Am not saying you didn't care for them or them"

"Yes...you loved with half your heart.

"I loved them wholeheartedly, do not dare undermine my love"

Her voice dripped with but Harris's was more painful.

"Then you should've weeped with them instead you happily accepted your death"

"You wanted to die but then you happily accepted the suppose cure"

"If you had spoken, if you had reached out none of this would've happened"

Mother voice rang out in anger.

"No"

"I wasn't the selfish one"

"I gave them everything even my own life"

"But they refused let go, they clung to me, they ripped apart and even I held them because they were mine"

"You were a child too"

For a moment his voice shook something deep within her

"It's okay if you hate them"

"I understand"

"Hating them doesn't make you terrible"

Harris stretched out his hand.

"That's enough"

"You may not redeem yourself from your past mistakes now"

"But you can end this cycle of suffering"

"Choose"

He was right, she never loved them wholeheartedly, she was willing to sacrifice everything for them but half her heat was always back with her people.

And maybe it died with them.

At that moment Mother realised that she was tired.

Tired of pain

Tired of sadness.

Tired of listening to her own children's screams for forgiveness.

For a long time she had wanted to end, she had wanted to go home.

But she couldn't leave her children alone in pain while to tried so hard to rent of their sins against her.

"Can you save us, all of us"

"No...but I can try"

If it was possible, if there was even a sleep chance, she was going to accept.

A somber spoke.

"I choose death"

"Thank you kind stranger"

Harris let out a slow breath.

"Did you her momento 19"

"Good"

A small glowing star weaved itself from blue incandescent light on Harris palm.

Smile.

"Long time no see"

Harris quickly turned his attention to Mother.

"Now that you have choose"

"Wish upon this star"

Mother freed herself of the chains, shattering them an act of selfishness.

The fog quickly poured into the the cyclopean tower, in it was the faces of all her children including the translucent serpent.

She smiled and whispered

"My most beautiful child"

"I wish for us all to be free"

And finally she wished

The star burst into a blinding light, purging everything, granting her wish.

End of the white death.
