The man looked at his teammate who was helping move the corpse and pointed the knife at him, backing away quickly.
But there was no other way. Not killing him would only harm more people.
His teammate closed his eyes, killed the man, and then tossed his body into the pile of zombie corpses before setting them all on fire.
After a few days of cleanup, the area outside the base looked just like it did before, with no sign of the chaos that had unfolded.
Two days later, the second wave of the zombie outbreak hit.
"You mentioned Zhou Ning earlier—do you think she's coming today?"
Meng Ci and Shen Que walked towards the base entrance, leading Qie Zi and the eagle. They were in lighter spirits, chatting and laughing as they walked.
