Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 — Clash with Umbraxis

The rooftop was already collapsing.

Cracks spread across the concrete as overwhelming pressure crushed everything beneath it. Windows shattered across the upper floors, raining glass down into the streets below.

At the center of the chaos—

Two forces stood opposed.

Kael Varyn.

And

Abyss Herald Kaeron.

The air between them warped.

Distorted.

Heavy with killing intent.

Kael rolled his shoulders slowly, crimson energy beginning to coil around his body like a living flame. His gauntlet—Blood Tyrant's Grasp—flickered into existence over his right arm, pulsing with deep, violent power.

Kaeron stepped forward calmly.

Each step cracked the rooftop further.

"…You've grown quickly," he said.

"…But you are still incomplete."

Kael smirked.

"Then come finish the job."

Kaeron vanished.

Not fast.

Not sudden.

He simply… ceased to be where he stood.

Kael's instincts exploded.

Instinct Override — Active

Time slowed.

The world blurred.

Kael turned—

BOOOOOOM!

Their fists collided mid-air.

A shockwave erupted outward, tearing apart what remained of the rooftop.

The building groaned under the force.

Kael skidded back slightly.

His arm vibrated.

"…Strong."

Kaeron didn't move.

Not an inch.

"…You rely too much on raw force."

He raised his hand.

Dark energy condensed.

But unlike void energy—

This was different.

Denser.

Older.

Heavier.

Kael's eyes narrowed.

"…Abyssal?"

Kaeron's gaze sharpened.

"The power of Umbraxis is not something your world understands."

He released the energy.

A wave of black force surged forward.

Kael didn't dodge.

He stepped into it.

Rage Burst — Overdrive

His aura exploded.

Crimson met darkness.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The clash split the rooftop in half.

The entire upper section of the building collapsed.

Below—

People screamed as debris rained down.

Back in the air—

Kael burst through the explosion.

He punched.

Kaeron blocked.

But this time—

He was pushed back.

His feet slid across the collapsing structure.

"…Impressive."

Kael grinned.

"Yeah."

"I get that a lot."

Behind them—

Zarek Voidborn was still engaged with the other two Umbraxis warriors.

Void and abyssal energy collided violently.

CRASH!

BOOM!

Zarek dodged a strike, countering with a blast of hybrid energy.

"…You guys don't know when to quit!"

Back to Kael—

Kaeron raised both hands now.

The sky darkened.

A massive abyssal construct formed above them—

A spear.

No—

A pillar.

Hundreds of meters long.

Condensed from pure abyssal energy.

Kael looked up.

"…That's new."

Kaeron's voice echoed.

"Fall."

The spear descended.

Fast.

Too fast.

Kael's instincts screamed.

He couldn't dodge.

So—

He did what he always did.

He attacked.

Kael roared.

His aura surged beyond its limits.

Bloodline Surge

Primordial Awakening: 20% → 22%

Power flooded his body.

His gauntlet pulsed violently.

He leaped.

Straight toward the falling spear.

"COME ON!"

He punched.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The sky exploded.

The abyssal spear shattered.

Fragments of dark energy scattered across the skyline like falling stars.

Shockwaves rippled across the entire city.

Even Kaeron's eyes widened slightly.

"…You broke it."

Kael landed hard.

Breathing heavily.

His arm trembled violently.

But he stood.

"…Not done yet."

Kaeron lowered his hand slowly.

For the first time—

His expression changed.

Serious.

"…Then I will stop holding back."

His aura surged again.

Stronger.

Darker.

But this time—

Something else appeared.

Behind him—

A symbol formed in the air.

Ancient.

Glowing.

Kael's system reacted violently.

Kael froze.

"…War?"

Kaeron spoke.

"Your bloodline…"

"…was not meant to exist in this age."

The symbol behind him expanded.

"It belongs to a forgotten era."

Kael's heart pounded.

"What are you talking about?"

Kaeron's eyes glowed.

"…The war between the Primordial Berserkers…"

"…and the Abyssal Sovereigns."

Silence.

Even Zarek paused mid-battle.

"…You're serious?"

Kaeron nodded.

"Your bloodline…"

"…is the last remnant of that war."

Kael's mind shook.

Visions flashed.

Battlefields.

Endless destruction.

Beings far beyond hunters.

And at the center—

A figure.

Covered in crimson.

Standing against darkness.

Kael clenched his fist.

"…Then I guess…"

His aura surged again.

"…I'll finish what they started."

Kaeron smiled faintly.

"…Good."

The sky darkened further.

Because this battle—

Was no longer just a clash of power.

It was history repeating itself.
