Chapter 2 - Unnamed

The Honest woodcutter

Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter in a village.He was very honest and hardworking. Every day, he want to the forest to cut wood.

One day, while cutting a teee near a river,his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the water. The river was very deep. The woodcutter became very sad and started crying.

Hearing his cry, a kind god appeared before him. The god asked him the reason for his sadness. The woodcutter told him everything. The god dived into the river and brought out a golden axe. He asked,"ls this your axe?" The woodcutter replied," No, this is not mine."

Then the god brought out a silver axe. Again he asked, " ls this yours?" The woodcutter said, "No, this is not mine either."

Filally, the god brought out his iron axe. The woodcutter became happy and said, " Yes, this is my axe."

The god was pleased with his honesty and gave him all the three axes as a reward.

Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
