Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: New Life, Old Shadows

The door of the medical chamber closed quietly behind Lord Valerian.

Before leaving, the old man had said only one thing.

"Rest well. Change your clothes and come to the family council hall this evening."

Then he left.

Now the massive room felt strangely quiet.

Sanat stood there for a moment, staring at the closed door.

Then he slowly sat down on the edge of the bed.

For the first time since waking up in this world, there was no one around him.

No robot.

No elf.

No powerful grandfather.

Just silence.

And that silence allowed something else to enter his mind.

A thought.

A heavy one.

His old life.

It hit him suddenly—like lightning.

Sanat leaned back slowly.

"…They're gone."

His voice sounded small in the large room.

His brother.

His friends.

His best friend Kyleis.

His little sister Fira.

All of them.

None of them were here.

Sanat rubbed his face slowly.

Until now, he had been so busy trying to understand this strange world that he had completely ignored the most obvious truth.

He had died.

And this…

This was a new life.

That meant something else too.

He would never see his old family again.

The realization settled heavily inside his chest.

Sanat leaned back and closed his eyes.

Memories began surfacing.

His father shouting at the television during cricket matches.

His mother telling him to stop playing games all night.

Kyleis laughing at his terrible jokes.

Fira running into his room just to annoy him.

Small moments.

Ordinary moments.

But suddenly they felt incredibly precious.

Sanat stayed like that for several minutes.

Just remembering.

Just letting the memories pass through his mind.

Eventually he opened his eyes again.

"…Well."

He let out a long breath.

"That life is over."

Sanat stood up slowly and walked toward the window.

Outside, the enormous city of Astra Prime stretched endlessly.

Floating highways.

Skyships.

Massive towers piercing the clouds.

A completely different universe.

"This world…" he muttered.

"…is insane."

Five power tiers.

Mythical beasts capable of destroying continents.

Ancient noble houses controlling entire planets.

And he had been reborn into the middle of it all.

Sanat looked down at his hands again.

This body.

This power.

This opportunity.

His expression slowly changed.

"In my old life…"

"I was just a gamer."

A small smile appeared on his face.

"But in this life…"

"…I won't stay weak."

He clenched his fist.

His mind returned to the story his grandfather had just told him.

His new father.

Lord Arcturus Virel.

One of the strongest humans in the history of Astra Prime.

A Tier 5 Transcendent.

Assassinated.

Betrayed by his own allies.

Sanat's eyes hardened.

"If I'm going to live this life…"

"…then I'm going to do it properly."

He looked out toward the distant horizon.

"I'll become strong."

"Strong enough that no one will ever try something like that again."

He stretched his arms.

His body felt incredible.

Energy flowed through his muscles.

Almost like this body was built for combat.

Sanat thought for a moment.

"If this planet has five power tiers…"

"And I'm currently Tier 1…"

"…then I need to start climbing."

Immediately.

But before that…

"I need information."

Sanat began pacing around the room.

This world clearly ran on power.

Guilds.

Noble houses.

Beast hunters.

Political alliances.

And somewhere in the shadows…

Enemies strong enough to assassinate a Tier 5 Transcendent.

Sanat stopped walking.

Then he smiled.

"Alright."

He cracked his knuckles.

"Step one."

"Learn everything about Astra Prime."

"Step two."

"Start cultivating."

"Step three…"

His smile widened slightly.

"…find the people who killed my father."

Outside the window, the sun of Astra Prime slowly climbed higher into the sky.

And far away, deep within the dark regions of the system…

Something ancient stirred.

Meanwhile, in the quiet medical chamber…

Sanat Virel had just made his first decision in his new life.

He would not live quietly.

He would climb.
