Chapter 8 - The Fall of Ambar Lok

Here, King Drishtadum begins searching for a way to stop and defeat the Vijayvahini army. For this reason, he once again goes to Rishi Maratanya and asks him for guidance.

Rishi Maratanya says to King Drishtadum,

"Your Majesty, if you wish to defeat the Vijayvahini army, you must obtain the Blue Gem of Takshak Lok.

That is the only way to defeat them."

"That is reasonable," replies King Drishtadum.

After saying this, he returns to the council and informs everyone about the solution given by Rishi Maratanya.

One of the rulers says,

"That may be true, Your Majesty, but how will we obtain the Blue Gem of Takshak Lok?"

"Yes, Your Majesty," another ruler adds.

"Takshak has secured his world completely, and now he even possesses the Blue Gems of our worlds. Meanwhile, the Vijayvahini army is spreading destruction in Ambar Lok. I don't think we will even be able to save Ambar Lok."

Hearing such words from everyone in the council makes King Drishtadum very worried. He says,

"You all try to obtain the Blue Gem of Takshak Lok. I will go to Ambar Lok and try to protect it."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" everyone replies together with determination.

King Drishtadum goes to Ambar Lok with his soldiers and begins bravely defeating the Vijayvahini army. His sword moves faster than the wind, and soon the Vijayvahini soldiers begin falling in battle.

Meanwhile, in the palace, Princess Ratri is resting in her chamber. At that moment, Prince Susim arrives with the food he prepared.

"P… pranam, Princess," he says nervously.

"Oh, you came?"

"Why did you take so long? Come, serve the food."

"Yes, Princess."

When she looks at the food, she asks,

"What is this that you have made?"

"Well… you asked me to prepare something good, so I made this."

"Oh, I see. So you don't know how to cook, do you?"

"Yes, Princess… you are right. I do not know how to cook. Because of my poor financial condition, I started working here in the Queen's Palace. Please forgive me."

"Alright. You may go. But learn your work quickly. I will not forgive you every time."

"Yes, Princess."

At that moment, her friend Kumar arrives and says,

"Ratri, you are resting here while in Ambar Lok—"

"Wait, wait! First take a breath," Ratri interrupts.

"Purva, bring some water."

After drinking water, Kumar continues,

"Ratri, in Ambar Lok, King Drishtadum is defeating our army. The Vijayvahini army is losing."

"Oh."

"That means I will have to go there."

"You eat this delicious food prepared by Purva. I will just visit Ambar Lok."

After saying this, Princess Ratri leaves.

Kumar begins eating the food and thinks to himself,

"Now I understand why Ratri is so strange. She herself is strange, and even her tastes are strange."

After hearing this, Prince Susim secretly follows Princess Ratri. He takes the place of one of her soldiers and reaches Ambar Lok with her.

The land of Ambar Lok is covered with the fallen heads of the Vijayvahini soldiers.

Seeing this makes Princess Ratri extremely angry at King Drishtadum. She draws her sword and begins cutting down his soldiers one by one.

Prince Susim and King Drishtadum both think in shock,

"Dear God… what is this?"

"There is not even a single drop of blood on her sword, yet the heads of enemies keep falling from their bodies."

Seeing Princess Ratri's bravery leaves both of them stunned.

Soon everything around begins burning and turning to ashes.

No one realizes when, during the battle, Princess Ratri reaches close to King Drishtadum and thrusts her sword through his chest.

Now Ambar Lok comes under Princess Ratri's control, along with its Blue Gem.

After obtaining the gem, Princess Ratri returns to the palace.

However, Prince Susim stays behind. Seeing King Drishtadum seriously injured, he takes him to his world, Kusumdhwaj Lok.

When the Queen sees the king injured, she becomes very frightened.

"What happened to the king?" she cries.

"Who did this?"

Prince Susim introduces himself.

"Your Majesty, my name is Susim. I am the prince of Tuluv Lok. King Drishtadum was injured by Princess Ratri of Takshak Lok."

Just then Vaidya Sheel, the royal physician, arrives and begins treating the king.

After some time he tells the queen,

"Your Majesty, the king was seriously injured, but I have treated him. It will take some time for him to recover fully."

"When will he regain consciousness?" the queen asks.

"Do not worry. He will regain consciousness by tomorrow morning."

"Thank you, Vaidya."

When King Takshak hears that Ambar Lok has been conquered, he goes to Princess Ratri and congratulates her.

Hearing praise from her Baba makes Princess Ratri very happy.

King Takshak says,

"Child, today you have made me very proud. I am extremely pleased with you."

"Now only two Blue Gems remain to be obtained — one from Naumar Lok, and the other from our greatest enemy, Kusumdhwaj Lok."

"Yes, Baba. Do not worry. I will obtain them soon and present them to you."

"Good."

"Pranam, Baba."

The next morning, King Drishtadum regains consciousness.

"Thank you, Prince Susim, for saving my life. I will surely repay this debt."

"But I am astonished… such bravery in a young girl! How is it possible?"

"Who was that girl?"

Prince Susim replies,

"She was Princess Ratri, the daughter of King Takshak. I have heard that she possesses immense powers. Defeating her is beyond anyone's ability. And you must have seen proof of that on the battlefield."

"You are right, Prince Susim," says King Drishtadum.

"I felt a very unusual energy within her."
