Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Subpoena

On the other side.

"Boss, this is truly terrifying." Bone showed Harry the information he had dug up.

This information detailed the specifics of the Prism Program.

The forces involved were staggering. At first, Bone thought it was just a domestic surveillance program spearheaded by the United States government, but digging deeper, he found that this plan not only involved the United States but even included the Five Eyes Alliance.

The targets were not just ordinary people; the list of those being monitored included many well-known figures, even heads of state.

And Harry had only casually mentioned it to him at the time.

Moreover, the Prism Program promised significant benefits to the companies participating in it, amounts far exceeding Bone's imagination. These benefits were not just monetary but also included support in terms of channels and policies.

Furthermore, according to the data dug up, if the Battle of New York hadn't broken out, a lawsuit against Osborn would have been filed immediately, and the U.S. government would have imposed massive daily fines on Osborn.

Even now, this plan has not been shelved; on the contrary, the capabilities ctOS demonstrated during the battle made them pay even more attention to the conspiracy against Osborn.

Norman becoming President is something no old power wants to see. If that happened, they might still be able to manipulate things regarding the presidential election.

It's just that Bone vaguely felt that a massive organization was hidden behind this plan, and the Prism Program might just be the tip of the iceberg.

He hesitated.

In the original work, he was a tough guy, but now he was actually hesitating.

However, this is not hard to understand—after all, Bone is no longer a man with nothing to lose. Besides, in Chicago, he faced at most a few local powers and politicians, but this plan...

Skye stood in the corner; she really wanted to know what Harry would do.

This young hacker was not as mature as Bone; what she was thinking was: 'If Osborn won't do it, I will.'

Harry looked at the dense data; the Prism Program in this World was much more formidable than he had known.

But on this matter, there were still people whose goals aligned with his.

Harry said: "Just do as I told you."

If Harry hadn't guessed wrong, in this World, the Prism Program might be part of the Insight Project. Without Osborn's protection, Snowden or others might really have been taken out by HYDRA on the path to exposure.

Or perhaps they wouldn't have been able to get this information at all.

Under Harry's instruction, Bone would cleverly leak this information to a few righteous individuals.

And then justice would arrive.

Bone said: "Won't they be silenced?" Ordinary people think hackers come and go without a trace, but Bone knew that anyone could slip up, especially when facing a behemoth like the NSA.

"No, this World doesn't only have English speakers."

Bone was stunned.

"Won't this be considered treason?"

Harry glanced at him: "It depends on which country you're talking about. Considering we now have an ultimate enemy: Aliens, his actions might be considered heroic in the future."

Bone pondered for a moment, then finally pressed the button.

He didn't think that much; he just instinctively felt repulsed by this kind of thing.

A string of large characters appeared on the screen: Lyre Protocol activated -- processing complete.

After the program finished running, Harry gave Bone some more instructions and then left the company.

Skye suddenly said: "I want to know why this thing is called Lyre? Is it some kind of code?"

Bone smiled.

"The instrument invented by Hermes—don't you name your little gadgets with chuunibyou names?"

In the face of Skye's expectant gaze, Bone did not offer further explanation.

"Let's not talk about that for now. Grab your gear; we have to go on a business trip."

"To do what?"

"Digging for secrets—do you think I don't know you've been hacking into that S.H.I.E.L.D. network?"

Skye froze when she heard this.

More than a month later, Manhattan was completely unsealed.

As the last thing Norman did before stepping down, it was done quite well.

Except for a few severely damaged corporate headquarters, the streets and urban areas had taken on a new look, and the vast majority of the ruins had been cleaned up.

Even those companies that paid Osborn to handle it had opened for business early.

It's just that everyone suddenly discovered that some properties in Manhattan were connected, and Osborn's robots were working day and night on the construction sites, looking like they were building some kind of alien fortress.

The people from the Department of Damage Control kept transporting alien debris there, which felt quite eerie.

In front of Stark Tower, the area had been cleared into an open space, and a huge victory monument stood there.

Norman was going to give his last speech before stepping down here.

"Citizens of New York, today, we stand here, on this land, this land watered by the blood of many heroes. Behind me are the statues of firefighters, Police, and other urban heroes who sacrificed themselves in the battle."

"The World changes quickly, and it catches us off guard, but we are honored to have these heroes."

"Remember all of this; please let us observe a moment of silence for these heroes for 3 minutes."

Everyone lowered their heads.

"I believe everyone knows that I am standing here today to deliver my final speech in office."

"I am very sorry that these things happened during my term, but besides apologizing, I must express my dissatisfaction here."

"The Security Council fired two nuclear missiles at this city on the grounds of World security; this is an act of utter incompetence!"

"As the Security Council, they knew nothing about outer space; when the Aliens arrived, they didn't send reinforcements; when this city was fighting in blood and was about to achieve victory, they chose to launch nuclear missiles."

"Incompetent, powerless, cowardly—that is my assessment of them!"

"Not to mention the federal government, which played no role in this incident; I am extremely disappointed in them."

"This is also why I have decided to run in the next general election."

Nick Fury and Harry were sitting in the audience.

"I have to say, the presidential election has ended early," Nick said.

"Otherwise? Who else is more suitable to be this President? Ellis? Forget it, he's just a slow-witted old man." Harry looked at his watch, "You have 15 minutes to finish what you have to say; NSA Agents are here, probably looking for me."

"Then you might be in trouble; other people are looking for you too."

This was not unexpected.

It was one thing that the space magic was taken away by Thor, but the Mind Stone was also missing, and HYDRA was furious.

There weren't many suspects, and Osborn was the prime suspect.

This actually gave Harry a sense of pleasure—after all, HYDRA had always been known for being insidious, and Harry was someone who had read the script.

Most of the time, others were the ones guessing which behind-the-scenes power was involved in these matters, but this time it was HYDRA's turn to guess.

"Two things: they are stirring up trouble in the international community, and you might need to prepare yourself mentally."

Nick didn't ask about the Mind Stone.

Harry asked: "Do you know what conditions they offered?"

Nick nodded: "Not bad, I know a little bit."

This King of Agents still had something to offer; even though his secrets were all exposed, he still provided Harry with some effective information.

When it comes to winning over allies, you have to learn to make an offer; the art of making an offer is to offer just a little bit more than the other party.

"The second thing: the NSA hasn't given up on ctOS; they plan to use this as a breakthrough."

"I know about this, but evil cannot prevail over good."

Nick Fury was stunned; is 'evil cannot prevail over good' something you should be saying?

But thinking about it carefully, Osborn didn't seem to have done anything bad.

The two talked for a while, and Harry basically understood the situation.

"Is there anything else?"

"Yes, Banner told me you are conducting some kind of advanced scientific research—that Apollo Project is part of the plan."

Nick's one eye looked over.

"There are twelve main gods on Mount Olympus, but he only told me about one deity. Where are the other eleven? Who is Zeus?"

Harry shrugged: "Well, the project name was just a whim; the Zeus Project, simply put, is to upgrade the global power grid and promote sustainable, clean energy to the World."

"I couldn't tell; you're actually an internationalist. I thought it would be a person."

Harry looked at Nick strangely: "Of course not. Apollo is also a project name. This is scientific research, not an armed uprising."

Nick stared at Harry for a long time, his expression writing the words 'I will be watching you' on his face.

"The last thing: you need to keep an eye on your father; it's best to have him wear that equipment at all times."

Harry smiled and said nothing.

Everyone thought the Osborn father and son relied on high-tech equipment just like Iron Man, not knowing that each of them could punch Captain America and kick the Winter Soldier.

Nick left on time, and the NSA Agents arrived on time.

"Mr. Wolff, it's you again?" Harry spoke first, "I mean, welcome here."

"Yes, it's me again. This is a prosecutor from the Federal Court."

Wolff briefly introduced this individual, and unsurprisingly, he was here to deliver a subpoena.

Or rather, to collect fines.

"Mr. Osborn, you are being sued on multiple charges of illegally using information technology to obtain citizen information, and are ordered to appear in court next Tuesday."
