The energy for the ship does not use a palladium element reactor, but a new element reactor.
For this reason, Harry brought Dr. Otto back.
Inside the underground Osborn facility in New York.
"This new element has excellent compatibility with almost all substances."
"It's like a pocket dimension that can hold anything."
Harry shrugged.
Dr. Otto's tentacles were like octopus arms guarding a treasure, surrounding the sample, and he looked like he wanted to press his face right against it.
Since Dr. Otto couldn't suppress his desire to conduct scientific research on the new element, and given that there were no other technical issues with the Washington power grid, Harry let Dr. Otto return.
"Completely clean, no radiation, no decay—it's simply a miracle."
Dr. Otto was clearly a true materialist—before this, if someone had told him that they could create a new element that was stable and non-radioactive, he would have thought they were a quack.
But now, the thing was right in front of him, existing in reality, and Dr. Otto's mind was rapidly revising his scientific worldview:
A simple particle accelerator could turn palladium into a brand new, magical element.
"Dr. Otto, we need to use this element to replace our existing energy technology and update our cold fusion technology."
"Of course, of course, we will definitely do that. We can start the experiments right now!"
Otto's professional dedication left Harry in awe; Harry was very relieved to entrust this work to Dr. Otto.
"Also, Doctor, research regarding this new element can only be conducted in this underground facility. I hope you understand its importance."
Otto nodded heavily.
This Doctor Octopus wasn't ignorant of the reasoning behind this; after all, his ideal was to use technology to make life better, not to become a villain.
At the moment, all of Harry's teams were operating at full capacity. Except for the resistance to the promotion of ctOS, progress in other areas was going very smoothly.
Walking out of the laboratory, Harry's phone rang; it was a call from Bone.
"Boss, the ctOS hardware infrastructure in Manhattan has been installed, but there's been a situation. Do you want to come and take a look?"
"What's the situation?"
"Uh, a hacker uploaded a video to our servers. I think you might need to see it."
Hearing about a hacker group, Harry's expression immediately became strange.
Hopefully, it wasn't that DedSec group chasing him to New York. Last time in Chicago, they had tried to hack into The Bunker, but Lening had silently blocked them. If they came again, Harry wouldn't mind spending a few million to wipe them out completely.
But when Harry arrived at Bone's office, the situation was not what he had imagined:
"We... we know what you're doing. You want to monitor us, control us, make us lose our freedom, and become birds in a cage."
"But we will always be watching you. The secret has been leaked."
The voice sounded like a young girl, full of vitality.
Listening to this audio, Harry's expression was a bit strange.
"Don't you hackers process your voices when posting this kind of video?"
"Although the technique is pretty good, you can tell it's a novice. I restored her voice."
Bone shrugged. "She claims to be from a hacker group called Rising Tide."
Rising Tide, a hacker group that helps ordinary civilians revolt on a global scale.
Their scope of operations is wide, but they haven't done anything that would qualify as a major event in the superhero World, which indirectly suggests they might indeed be a decent organization and likely aren't involved with villainous factions like HYDRA.
"Can you track her?"
"Of course, Aiden has already set off and is probably right behind this girl now."
Bone shrugged and then pulled a chocolate bar out of his pocket.
On the other side, inside a white van.
A young girl wearing cheap clothes with big, watery eyes was focused, reciting a script with deep emotion, and recording every word she said onto the computer.
"You can't hide in the background forever and control the city."
"You can't make us shut up, because you will never be able to find us, you can't know our identities, and no matter what happens, you can't stop us."
Bang!
The girl's voice stopped abruptly; the door to the van's cargo hold was violently forced open.
The phone in Aiden's hand was playing the audio, and the lines were exactly the same as what the girl was recording into the computer.
"Uh, hello, sir. This is my personal broadcast station; I don't really welcome fanatical fans."
Aiden didn't speak; he waved his hands, and a black hood was placed over the girl's head.
Osborn Tower.
"Skye, right?"
Harry looked at the girl with interest.
Skye, real name Daisy Johnson—though she didn't know it yet, she wasn't actually an ordinary human, but an Inhuman with superpowers, though her abilities hadn't awakened yet.
Calculating the time, she should have just come of age and probably joined Rising Tide not long ago; she was clearly still very green.
Skye seemed to want to play dumb in front of Harry, remaining silent.
"There is one thing I'm curious about: why do you think Osborn is violating civil rights? You should know that every operation we conduct is done under legal authorization."
"Aren't all companies the same? Hammer Industries hired Ivan Vanko to wreak havoc in New York, and then Osborn comes out to gain fame and do some PR."
Hearing this, Skye said indignantly.
"So you think we had Ivan blow up New York so we could come out and reap the benefits?"
Harry laughed; how could this person's thought process be so strange?
Hearing Harry's laughter, Skye said stubbornly:
"The Osborn Group provides a large sum of money to the New York City government every month, and the New York City government transfers this money to some strange company accounts, letting them dig secret Bases underground. What are you trying to do?"
"Wait a minute, the payments are because Osborn sponsors many subsidy programs in New York City. But regarding the secret Bases, why do you think the New York City government paying money to other companies has anything to do with Osborn?"
"Who doesn't know that New York is the Osborn Group's backyard? Who else could it be besides you?"
Harry was a bit helpless; he probably understood what was going on.
These underground Bases were obviously S.H.I.E.L.D.'s doing. This young Skye's technology wasn't enough to hack into the S.H.I.E.L.D. network—not yet—so she blamed it on Osborn.
Harry didn't say much else and took a stack of documents out of his drawer.
Does Osborn need to dig an underground Base sneakily?
"Osborn does indeed have underground Bases, but they are completely legal. Here are the documents; this is an underground laboratory, not a secret Base. You need to understand one thing: just because the media doesn't publicize it doesn't mean it's shady."
In reality, if the media doesn't report it, who would know which piece of land was bought by which company?
After all, ordinary people's lives are busy enough. Who else besides reporters and detectives would have nothing better to do than force themselves to get documents from various agencies, aggregate clues, and draw conclusions?
And as long as Osborn doesn't want it reported, the city's media won't mention this underground Base.
"Look, Ms. Skye, I didn't even lock you in a dark room; instead, I invited you to Osborn Tower. What does this indicate?"
"It means you can't crack my files and need me to decrypt them!" Skye said triumphantly.
At this moment, the phone in Harry's office rang.
"Boss, the girl's files have been decrypted. This girl is just the kind of little girl who runs under Stark Tower to play cosplay. Here are her selfies."
Skye was stunned.
