Chapter 18 - Volume 17: The Shaded Zenith – The Last Stand

Chapter 1: The Crystalline Graveyard

The transition from the previous sector was a jump from fire into a frozen hell. The Crystalline Nebula was not made of gas, but of suspended, jagged shards of frozen time and space. Picking up from the Prince's desperate journey, the fleet was instantly ambushed. The Outer Void Lords had anticipated the trajectory. Thousands of Void-Rifts tore open, and out stepped the Void-Generals, their bodies humming with the power of Eternal Singularities (Level 2).

Tiān Chuàng stood on the deck, his breath visible in the absolute zero temperature. The two fragments hidden here were pulsing—one a deep sapphire, the other a violent crimson. But between him and those shards stood a Multiversal Overlord (Level 3). The Overlord didn't have a face; it was a swirling mass of dark laws that moved like liquid mercury. "The son of the Source," the Overlord hissed, the sound vibrating inside Tiān Chuàng's skull. "Your father's blood will make a fine vintage for our Master."

Chapter 2: The Harvest of Souls

The battle erupted with a violence that surpassed the previous sector. The Dragon King and the High Elf Queen realized that time was their enemy. To allow Tiān Chuàng to reach the shards, they had to create a wall of flesh and spirit.

"For the Sovereign!" the Dragon King roared. He didn't just fight; he performed the Final Dragon-Soul Sacrifice. His massive body, leagues long, began to burn with a white, transcendental fire. He wrapped himself around the Void-Generals, detonating his entire cultivation to stall them for a mere ten minutes. The Elven Queen followed, weaving her life-force into a web of World-Tree Roots that anchored the crumbling nebula. One by one, the heroes who had trained the Prince were falling. Every sacrifice was a hammer blow to Tiān Chuàng's heart, but he couldn't stop. He turned his grief into raw speed, cutting through the Overlord's minions with a desperation that bordered on madness.

Chapter 3: The Broken Seal of the Empress

Back at the Sovereign's Flagship, the situation was a "Death End." A Law-Ender (Level 4) had bypassed the front lines and was now deconstructing the ship's hull. Mo Yue watched her allies die on the viewscreen. She looked at the nursery where her husband's Azure Spark flickered weakly.

"I cannot let his world burn," she whispered. Mo Yue stood and walked to the center of the command deck. She closed her eyes and reached deep into her soul, past the Supreme Void-Creator realm, into a place she had promised Tiān Yuán she would never touch. It was her Ancient Origin Seal—a power from a time before the current Multiverse was even born.

As she shattered the seal, her hair turned into flowing silver light, and her eyes became voids of pure creation. The ship was instantly repaired by her mere presence, but the cost was visible—her life-essence began to leak out like glowing mist. She was using a power that her current body could not contain. She stepped out into the void, a goddess of life turned into an angel of absolute annihilation, holding back the Law-Ender with a strength that defied logic, even as her own skin began to crack like porcelain.

Chapter 4: The Deadly Ambush

In the heart of the Nebula, Tiān Chuàng finally reached the sapphire shard. He grabbed it, feeling its power surge through him, but as he reached for the crimson one—the Sixth Fragment—the space around him solidified. The Multiversal Overlord had laid a conceptual trap.

Before Tiān Chuàng could react, a spear made of Level 5 Forbidden Origin energy—the same stuff that had "killed" his father—shot out from the shadows. It pierced through Tiān Chuàng's shoulder and lung, pinning him to a frozen crystal pillar. His blood, golden and divine, sprayed across the ice. The Overlord moved in, its mercury-like hands forming a blade. Tiān Chuàng was paralyzed; his "Origin Equilibrium" was being rotted from the inside. He looked at the crimson shard, only inches away, but his vision was fading. Death was not a possibility; it was an approaching certainty.

Chapter 5: The Masked Arrival

Just as the Overlord's blade was about to decapitate the Prince, the entire Nebula went silent. Not the silence of space, but the silence of Absolute Authority. The laws of physics didn't just bow; they died.

A rift opened—not a Void-rift, but a clean, sharp tear in reality. Out stepped a man. He wore a mask of polished white bone and clothes that were shockingly modern—a tailored, midnight-black suit of the highest quality, shimmering with a weave of stars that cost more than an entire galaxy. His aura didn't just fill the Nebula; it suppressed the entire sector. It was the aura of The Omnarch (Level 9).

The Overlord screamed in terror, its liquid body trembling. "Who... what are you? A Level 9 cannot exist here!"

The masked man didn't answer. He moved so fast that time itself didn't register the motion. With a single flick of his fingers, the Level 3 Overlord was turned into a small glass marble, which he casually crushed in his hand. He walked toward the dying Tiān Chuàng and pulled the Forbidden Spear out as if it were a toothpick. He looked at the Prince, and for a moment, the air around them felt familiar.

Chapter 6: The Sixth Fragment

The masked man reached out and grabbed the Crimson Shard. He looked at it for a moment, then pressed it into Tiān Chuàng's chest. The fragment fused instantly, healing the Prince's wounds and surging his power toward the Eternal Singularity (Level 2) peak.

"One remains," the masked man said, his voice distorted by a frequency that no mortal could track.

Mo Yue, still fighting the Law-Ender at the edge of the sector, felt this new aura and froze. The power was so high it felt like the Source had returned, but the "flavor" of the energy was different—it was colder, more refined, and possessed a technological precision.

The masked man looked toward the Sanctuary, then back at Tiān Chuàng. Without a word, he vanished as quickly as he had appeared, leaving the Prince alone with the Sixth Fragment and a Multiverse that had just seen a glimpse of a True Ruler. The war was still raging, but the predators had just realized they were now the prey.
