CHAPTER FOURTEEN
THE SECRET ROOM.
The hallway was quiet, too quiet. every step echoed.
Lena stayed close to Adrian, her fingers brushing his hair, not out of fear alone, But for grounding. They reached the door, it looked ordinary and simple. But nothing about this night was ordinary. Adrian pushed it open.
Inside was filled with darkness, then light flickered on, and everything changed, the room was filled with screens, dozens of them. All showing the same thing.
lena , Adrian, their moment, their conversation and their kiss. Lena breath caught sharply. "He recorded everything." She whispered . Adrian's expression darkened. "This isn't surveillance," he said."it's obsession."
Victor stepped in behind them. "This," he said softly "is truth."
"No." This is manipulation." Victor smiled faintly. "Is it?" He gestured toward the screens .
"Or is it a reflection of what you have become?"
Silence filled the room, because deep down they both knew, this wasn't about danger anymore, it was about them. "You wanted to understand the stakes," Victor continued. A pause, "now you do." Lena stepped forward with fear or regret, her voice stronger now. "You're wrong." Victor's brow lifted slightly. She was more courageous and wanted to pour out her mind to the one who has kept her heart racing for days. "This doesn't break us." Adrian looked at her, and in that moment he understood."it makes us stronger," she said boldly.
Victor studied the both of them carefully then smiled. "Good." Because now, the real game could begin. They both looked at each other as Adrian stepped forward, Victor walked out of the room but this time they were ready for whatever he brought to the table . But then they have no idea of what could be next.
