ALICE
My legs are shaking so badly that the moment the bathroom door clicks shut, I slide down the freezing tile wall... and bury my face in my knees...
I am crying... but it's not because I am scared... it's because I am furious... at him... and at my own fucking body for giving him exactly what he wanted...
"I hate him... I hate him..."
I whisper into the dark, my voice cracking... but the words feel empty... because my skin is still burning where his hands were...
I force myself to get up, my muscles aching as the electricity suddenly flashes back on, blinding my eyes...
I quickly grab the gym clothes and pull them on... the gray fabric is oversized and rough against my skin, but it hides the marks I know his fingers left on my skin...
I look at the mirror... my lips are swollen... and my neck has a dark purple bite mark right on the vein...
"Bitch..." I hiss at my own reflection...
I grab my wet uniform, stuff it inside the plastic bag, and walk out of the sports complex...
I need to find Mio... I need to know if Ellie is really okay...
But as I make my way back towards the main building, I see the President's office door open... and Briar walks out... her face is completely red from anger... and behind her is Professor De Luca...
The moment his eyes land on me, that same creepy smile spreads across his face...
he whispers something to Briar, making her glare at me with pure hatred before she storms off...
De Luca steps out into the hallway, adjusting his suit... "Ah, Ms. Miller..."
he says, his voice smooth like oil as his eyes dart straight to my neck... where the collar of the gym shirt is slightly loose...
"I see you've changed... I hope the rest of your day goes... smoother."
Son of a bitch, what does he think of himself...? I nod anyway, forcing my expressions to stay blank, and make my way down to the corridor... when I finally see Mio... walking toward... me...
But even before she can reach me... I see it happen... a flash of black... walking just behind her... faster than a fly...
I freeze...
