Chapter 69 - Chapter 68: Misty's First Kiss

When Yuuto directed Pidgeotto to find Misty, the strong swimmer had already climbed ashore on her own.

She sat on a large rock by the river, soaked to the bone. Her light orange hair clung to her cheeks and neck, still dripping with water.

But she was clearly not in a good state.

There was a noticeable scrape on the outside of her left calf, seeping blood, and the surrounding area was already red and swollen.

She was bowing her head, wiping her face with the back of her hand.

Her shoulders were twitching rhythmically.

Yuuto jumped down from Pidgeotto's back, recalled the Pokémon, and walked over quickly.

The sound of footsteps startled Misty.

She jerked her head up.

When she saw it was Yuuto, her eyes — still shimmering with moisture — instantly lit up.

"Yuuto!"

Her voice carried a clear sob, mixed with pleasant surprise.

Yuuto walked up to her and crouched down.

His gaze swept over her face; teardrops still hung from the corners of her eyes, her nose was red, and her cheeks were a wet mess of either river water or tears.

"Silly girl."

Yuuto spoke, his tone teasing.

"Who told you to run around with your head down? Now you know how it feels to cry, don't you?"

"Who… who's crying!"

Misty's stubborn streak immediately flared up.

She wiped her face hard and stiffened her neck.

"This… this is river water! It splashed on me when I fell in just now!"

"Fine, fine, river water."

Yuuto didn't expose her. His gaze fell on her injured leg.

"Can you still walk?"

"I can!"

Misty's competitive spirit rose.

She braced her hands against the rock, gritting her teeth to stand up.

But as soon as she stood straight.

"Ah!"

The sharp pain from the wound on her left leg made her entire leg give way.

Her body tilted forward uncontrollably.

She was about to take a hard fall.

An arm steadily caught her around the waist.

Yuuto had expected this.

"Alright, stop trying to be brave."

He steadied Misty, turned around, and crouched down with his back to her.

"I'll carry you."

Misty looked at Yuuto's broad back, her cheeks turning slightly red.

She pursed her lips and murmured softly:

"Then… then you're not allowed to touch me inappropriately…"

"Don't worry."

Yuuto didn't look back, his voice full of amusement.

"I'm a man of integrity. Even when those women with great figures from Nanshan Academy threw themselves at me, wasn't I still firm and unwavering?"

"Hmm?"

Misty suddenly got triggered again.

"You're still thinking about those bad women from Nanshan Academy!"

She wrapped her arms around Yuuto's neck, hugging him a bit tighter.

"You're not allowed to think about them anymore!"

There was a hint of jealousy in her voice that she hadn't even noticed herself.

"Fine, I won't think about them!"

Yuuto coaxed her, and only then did Misty obediently lean onto his back.

Yuuto reached back with both hands.

He steadily supported Misty's bouncy, beautiful buttocks.

The sensation from his palms made his heart flutter uncontrollably.

Misty looked thin, but she definitely had curves where it mattered.

"Ya!"

Misty let out a sensitive little cry and punched Yuuto's shoulder.

"Where… where are you putting your hands!"

"To carry someone, I obviously have to support them here, otherwise how would you stay on?"

Yuuto spoke righteously and even gave her a deliberate little hoist.

Misty's whole body was pressed against his back, leaning tightly.

The fabric had become semi-transparent after being soaked through.

The outline of her light blue bra was clearly visible.

*Feels pretty good!*

The corners of Yuuto's mouth curled up.

Carrying Misty on his back, he stepped forward along the riverbank.

His steps were very steady.

Misty lay flat on his back, her wet body pressed close, her body heat transferring through the thin clothing.

"If the ones from Nanshan Academy are bad women, then who's a good woman?"

Yuuto looked for a topic.

"Sister Delia, of course!"

Misty blurted it out without hesitation.

But after saying it, she paused.

Her voice grew softer, carrying a bit of bashfulness.

"And… and me."

"Oh~~"

Yuuto drew out the sound meaningfully.

"Then I'll just think about the two of you from now on!"

"Mhm! That's more like it…"

Misty nodded with satisfaction.

But a second later, she suddenly realized.

Wait.

Why does that sound… strange?

Something seems wrong.

"Think about the two of you"?

What kind of "think" is this "think"?

It's like… Delia and I are both his women or something~ Hmph!

While she was pondering, Yuuto had already carried her quite a distance.

The path along the riverbank wasn't easy to walk; there were many pebbles and weeds.

Yuuto's every step was steady, his hands firmly supporting her thighs.

That position… was too high up.

Misty could clearly feel the warmth of Yuuto's palms, and when he occasionally moved, his fingertips would unintentionally brush against the soft skin of her thighs.

It felt tingly and numb.

Her face grew redder and redder.

Her body also gradually went a bit limp.

"Yuuto…"

She spoke in a low voice.

"Yeah?"

"Could… could you move your hands down a bit…"

"If I move them down, I won't be able to support you, and you'll slide off."

Yuuto's reasoning was sound.

As he spoke, he deliberately hoisted her up again.

"Ugh!"

Misty trembled all over and bit her lip, not daring to speak anymore.

She could only bury her burning face into the crook of Yuuto's neck.

Her breath puffed against Yuuto's skin.

It was warm, moist, and carried the unique fragrance of a young girl.

Yuuto chuckled inwardly.

This girl usually acts like a tomboy, but she's actually quite sensitive.

It seems the progress of winning her over can be accelerated.

The two walked in silence like this.

There were only the sounds of footsteps and the rushing river.

The atmosphere became somewhat ambiguous.

But soon, it was interrupted.

"Excuse me…"

A crisp female voice came from the edge of the forest ahead.

Yuuto looked up.

A girl wearing denim overalls and a pink short-sleeved top was standing not far away.

Her beautiful long green hair was tied in a braid at the back of her head with a large red bow.

Her features were delicate, and her skin was fair.

Right now, she was looking at Yuuto and Misty on his back with a curious yet concerned gaze.

"Was it you guys who just shouted for help?"

The girl asked.

"Help?"

Yuuto was stunned for a moment, then immediately understood.

He glanced sideways at Misty on his back.

"It must have been this silly girl shouting when she fell into the river."

Misty embarrassedly buried her face even deeper.

"So that's how it is."

The green-haired girl walked over.

Her gaze fell on Misty's injured leg.

"She's injured. It looks a bit serious."

She crouched down and carefully examined the wound on Misty's leg.

"I know a bit about common herbal medicine."

The girl looked up, revealing a gentle smile.

"I can give you some simple treatment to prevent infection."

Saying so, she naturally took a small cloth pouch out of her backpack.

She opened it.

Inside were some dried herbal leaves and clean strips of cloth.

"My name is Kusui, and I live in the nearby forest."

The girl introduced herself while skillfully crushing the herbs on a rock.

"I'm Yuuto."

Yuuto also gave his name while gently setting Misty down to sit on a flat rock.

"She's Misty; we're both passing Trainers."

"Thank you, Kusui."

Misty said softly, watching Kusui seriously crush the medicine.

"You're welcome."

Kusui's smile was mild.

She applied the crushed herbs to Misty's wound and then carefully bandaged it with the cloth strips.

Her movements were gentle and her technique was skillful.

"It's just emergency treatment. You still need to disinfect it properly when you get back."

Kusui reminded them.

Yuuto stood to the side, his gaze sizing up Kusui.

According to the script… this girl was the temporary caretaker of that high-potential Bulbasaur.

He didn't expect to meet her so soon.

"Miss Kusui lives in the forest all by herself?"

Yuuto struck up a conversation.

"Yes, I like the peace and quiet, and I also like taking care of injured Pokémon."

Kusui nodded, packing up the cloth pouch.

"No wonder."

Yuuto laughed.

"Beautiful and kind-hearted, with great skills to boot. With you in this forest, the injured Pokémon are truly blessed."

He spoke quite bluntly.

Kusui's face turned slightly red.

"You… you flatter me."

She lowered her head somewhat shyly.

But the smile at the corners of her mouth couldn't be hidden.

Meanwhile, Misty, who was on his back, was already fuming inside.

*Yuuto! You pervert! You big pervert!*

*You can't even walk when you see a beautiful woman!*

*When you first saw me, you even called me a hungry ghost!*

*Now, to this Kusui you just met, you're praising her for being "beautiful and kind-hearted"!*

*Hmph!*

She glared at Yuuto puffily.

If looks could kill, two holes would have been glared into the back of Yuuto's head.

*Bite you!*

*Bite you to death!*

Misty imagined herself pouncing and taking a hard bite out of Yuuto in her mind.

As she thought about it, she actually unconsciously opened her mouth in the air.

She made a "biting" motion.

Just then, Yuuto happened to turn his head, wanting to check on Misty.

With this turn of the head.

His profile happened to move right up to Misty's open mouth.

*Mwah.*

A slight but clear sensation.

Misty's lips planted a solid kiss right on Yuuto's cheek.

Time seemed to stand still.

Kusui blinked, watching the scene.

Misty froze completely.

Her eyes widened, her lips still in the position of being pressed against Yuuto's face.

Her mind went blank.

Yuuto was also stunned for a moment.

Kusui caught sight of this, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curve up as she teased softly:

"Yuuto, you and your girlfriend have such a great relationship."

These words were like a needle, gently pricking Misty's sensitive nerves.

Normally, she would have immediately jumped up to retort: "Who's his girlfriend!" "We're just companions!" "Don't talk nonsense!"

But right now… she had just "kissed" Yuuto's face.

And it was her first kiss!! Her first kiss! Was it really going to be like this?

The lingering warmth on her lips and the fresh scent of Yuuto's skin made her head spin.

The words of defense were stuck in her throat; she couldn't utter a single word.

Her face was hot enough to fry an egg.

She fell into a complete silence.

In the end, it was Yuuto who laughingly came to her rescue:

"Her? She's just hungry. Her stomach is growling, and she wants to bite someone when she smells something good."

As he spoke, he deliberately turned his head to look at Misty, who was still frozen on his shoulder:

"Right? She has quite an appetite; she can eat three bowls of rice in one sitting!"

"You… you're the one who eats three bowls in one sitting!"

Misty finally found a bit of her voice, but her retort was weak and lacked her usual vigor.

Kusui was amused by the interaction between this "little couple":

"I happen to have plenty of food in my little hut; we'll be there in a bit."

She stood up and brushed the herbal debris off her hands:

"Let's go, I'll lead the way."

Yuuto picked Misty up on his back again and followed Kusui toward the depths of the forest.

For the rest of the journey, Misty was unusually quiet.

She buried her face in Yuuto's back without saying a word.

Only her slightly rapid breathing and the occasional soft grunt from Yuuto's movements proved she was still awake.

Yuuto could feel that Misty's muscles were all a bit tense.

It seemed that accidental "kiss" just now had a significant impact.

He chuckled inwardly but didn't expose her, just carrying her steadily along.

They walked for another distance.

A "rustling" sound suddenly came from the dense bushes ahead.

Yuuto paused, his Aura Power instinctively spreading out.

A familiar and gentle life fluctuation was rapidly approaching.

"Yuuto? Misty?"

A female voice rang out, carrying a hint of surprise and worry.

The bushes were parted, and a slender figure stepped out quickly.

Her light brown hair was somewhat messily stuck to her sweaty forehead, her fair cheeks flushed from exercise, and her chest was heaving slightly.

It was indeed Delia.

The hem of her plain outfit was stained with some mud and grass, but it did nothing to hide her mature and moving charm.

Right now, her gentle eyes were urgently scanning Yuuto and Misty, and especially when she saw Yuuto carrying Misty, whose leg was wrapped in cloth, her brow immediately furrowed in worry.

"Are you guys okay? What happened to Misty?"

"Sister Delia!"

Seeing Delia, Misty, who had been acting like an ostrich, felt as if she had found a savior, and her eyes brightened quite a bit.

After a long silence, she finally spoke, her voice carrying a bit of grievance:

"I… I accidentally fell into the river and scraped my leg. Sister Delia, where did you go just now? We looked for you for a long time."

Delia walked closer, first carefully examining Misty's injury, then letting out a sigh of relief:

"It's okay, the wound was treated very promptly."

Only then did she look up and explain:

"I was chasing that Oddish just now, and when I chased it to a clearing in the forest, I found it was with a Bulbasaur."

"That Bulbasaur was very alert; when it saw Pikachu and Eevee approaching, it attacked directly with Vine Whip."

"Pikachu and the others blocked a few times, and then that Bulbasaur took the Oddish and fled deep into the forest. I chased them all the way, and I didn't expect to run into you here."

Delia spoke quickly but clearly.

After she finished, her gaze fell on Kusui, who was standing quietly by the side, and she gave a friendly smile:

"And this is?"

"My name is Kusui, and I live in this forest."

Kusui introduced herself gracefully, her gaze lingering on Delia's gentle and beautiful face for a moment, unable to help but praise her in her heart.

*What a graceful and beautiful older sister.*

"I heard some noise just now and came to check it out. I happened to run into Yuuto and Misty, so I helped treat Misty's wound."

"Thank you so much, Miss Kusui."

Delia thanked her sincerely.

The two women exchanged a few pleasantries.

At this point, Kusui frowned slightly, repeating the key words from Delia's story:

"A Bulbasaur… with an Oddish?"

"Yes, it was a bit sturdier than a normal Bulbasaur, the color of the bulb on its back was darker, and its eyes were very sharp."

Delia recalled the description.

"Could it… be him?"

Kusui murmured to herself.

"Miss Kusui, do you know this Bulbasaur?"

Delia keenly caught the information in Kusui's words.

"Well… I suppose I know a little bit about him."

Kusui nodded, a complex expression appearing on her face:

"Once you get to my place, you'll understand."

She said no more, turning to continue leading the way.
