The alarm rang sharply through the lunar base.
Deep inside the Kryptonian storage vault, the Storm Axe resting within the treasury suddenly trembled. The weapon rattled violently against its containment frame, the metallic resonance echoing through the quiet chamber as if something far away had called out to it.
"What…?"
A Kryptonian engineer stared at the axe in disbelief. His eyes widened as the massive weapon began to shake harder, its handle vibrating with an eerie energy that seemed to pulse with intention.
The engineer swallowed nervously as he approached the containment platform. This weapon had been entrusted to the lunar base by the Supreme Emperor himself as part of the empire's expansion efforts, and it was considered a priceless imperial gift. Neglecting it—or worse, losing control of it—was something no one stationed here would dare imagine.
"Oh no…"
His voice trembled slightly as he stepped closer. The axe suddenly jolted upward within the storage cradle.
"The battle axe just moved!" the engineer shouted.
At that moment, a group of Kryptonian troops had just returned to the lunar base from patrol. Hearing the commotion, they rushed toward the treasury and froze in confusion as they saw the weapon shaking violently.
"How is that possible?"
"Why would it move on its own?"
The Storm Axe was no ordinary weapon. It weighed far beyond what most soldiers could wield, and it had remained perfectly still since arriving at the base. Watching it stir like a living creature left everyone bewildered.
Only one person in the room understood what was happening.
Foola stood quietly among them, her expression calm but her eyes sharp. Known throughout the empire as the Ice Queen for her cold beauty and disciplined demeanor, she had served closely under the emperor for a long time.
Because of that service, she knew something the others did not.
This weapon possessed awareness.
More importantly, it could respond to its master's call.
"It's returning to His Majesty…" Foola murmured softly.
Her gaze followed the trembling weapon as the realization settled in her mind. If the Storm Axe was responding to a summons, then the emperor must have called for it personally.
Which meant only one thing.
A battle had begun.
Foola's brows furrowed slightly as a rare hint of surprise crossed her face. She knew better than anyone that their emperor's own body was already the most terrifying weapon in existence.
Why would he need a weapon at all?
"Everyone remain calm," she said suddenly, her voice cutting cleanly through the confusion in the room. "His Majesty is summoning the weapon. Return to your stations immediately."
The moment she spoke, the Storm Axe burst free from its containment frame.
Hum!
With a thunderous vibration, the weapon shot upward like a rocket, blasting straight through the vault's open ceiling hatch and vanishing into the dark vacuum beyond.
None of the soldiers dared attempt to stop it.
Foola watched the axe disappear into space without interference. Her expression remained composed, though her mind had already reached a decision.
Krypton's social hierarchy was absolute. Rank and duty were engraved into their very genes, and no one questioned the order of command.
Soldiers remained soldiers. Generals remained generals.
Under the empire's strict structure, both Foola and the commander Lilith stood at the very top of the chain beneath the emperor himself. Their authority among the troops was unquestionable.
Especially after the birth of Krypton's first female Superman.
"Prepare the base defenses," Foola ordered calmly. "I'm heading to Earth."
If the emperor had summoned a weapon personally, then a battle must already be underway. Sitting idle while their ruler fought alone was not something she could accept.
Without another word, she launched herself upward.
Her body streaked into the sky like a meteor as she chased the Storm Axe toward Earth.
—
Earth.
Massachusetts.
Yun Chen stood quietly in the open field beneath the night sky, his right arm raised toward the heavens.
Ten seconds passed in silence.
Then the air suddenly exploded with a distant roar.
A blazing streak tore across the sky, descending toward the battlefield like a falling star.
"This…"
Several Asgardians looked up in shock.
"That bastard!" one of them snarled. "He actually controls the artifact!"
Odin's eyes narrowed slightly, a faint killing intent flashing across his face.
That weapon had been forged from the same divine mold that once created the legendary Thunder Hammer. It carried immense divine power and belonged to the lineage of Asgard's greatest relics.
And yet it was now answering someone else's call.
The blazing object descending from the sky was unmistakable.
The Storm Axe.
As the weapon shot downward toward Yun Chen, several Asgard warriors exchanged glances.
"Don't let him get it!"
"Grab it together!"
Boom!
The ground cracked beneath their feet as three warriors launched forward like cannonballs. Their bodies blasted through the air toward Yun Chen, aiming to intercept the weapon before it reached his hands.
The rushing wind whipped Yun Chen's cloak behind him as the warriors approached.
He didn't move.
Instead, he calmly watched them come.
"You want it?" Yun Chen said evenly. "Then take it."
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"But some things aren't yours just because you want them."
His raised hand suddenly dropped.
Then he pointed toward the charging warriors.
Odin's eyes widened.
"No—go back!" he shouted instantly.
But it was already too late.
Whoosh!
The Storm Axe, which had been flying toward Yun Chen's hand, abruptly shifted direction in midair. Under his invisible command, the weapon veered sharply and shot straight toward the approaching warriors.
"Catch it," Yun Chen said calmly.
The Storm Axe's speed increased dramatically.
It streaked forward like a meteor.
One of the leading Asgardians stretched out his arms confidently, believing he could seize the weapon before it reached Yun Chen.
But he had completely ignored one thing.
The terrifying momentum behind the descending axe.
Bang!
Before his hands could fully close around the handle, the blade slammed directly through his arm.
The divine weapon sliced cleanly through bone and muscle before crashing straight into his chest.
Pfft!
Blood burst from his mouth as his body was launched backward like a broken doll.
The two warriors behind him didn't even have time to react.
Whoosh!
The Storm Axe continued its path forward.
Slash!
Both of them were cut cleanly across the waist.
Their bodies split apart as intestines spilled across the ground.
The axe continued plowing forward through the Asgardian formation like a spinning blade of death.
"Not good!"
"Damn it, that's a divine weapon! You can't block it with your body!"
Panic erupted among the Asgardians as screams filled the battlefield.
"Bastard!"
Odin finally moved.
Seeing his people being slaughtered, the King of Asgard could no longer remain still. His aura exploded outward as he charged toward Yun Chen with overwhelming momentum.
"The wrath of a god!"
Power surged from his body like a tidal wave.
But Yun Chen simply watched him approach without concern.
Momentum?
Divine power?
What difference did it make?
Even if Odin's presence shook the heavens themselves, Yun Chen still responded with nothing more than a single punch.
A simple punch.
No flourish. No technique.
Just raw force.
Boom!
Odin suddenly stopped mid-charge as if he had collided with an invisible wall.
The impact slammed into him with terrifying force.
His body was thrown backward instantly.
He staggered several steps, gasping for breath as his boots carved deep grooves into the earth before he finally stabilized himself.
"Kryptonian… Superman?"
Odin's eyes narrowed as realization dawned.
At first he had only been suspicious, but now that he looked closely at the young man before him, the answer became obvious.
Across the universe, Kryptonians were infamous for their terrifying physical power.
"There's a new Kryptonian Empire?" Odin said slowly. "And it produced someone like you?"
Asgard had lived in relative isolation, and news of the newly rising Kryptonian power had barely reached them during the past six months.
"Superman…"
The surrounding Asgardians looked uneasy.
A Kryptonian Superman was a monster known across the cosmos for possessing an unstoppable body.
But hadn't the Kryptonian Empire already been destroyed?
How could such a figure still exist?
Anger flickered in Odin's eyes as he stared at Yun Chen.
"So the Kryptonians stole my treasure," he said coldly. "An empire that already collapsed actually believes it can challenge Asgard?"
At that moment, Carol stepped forward calmly.
"The Kryptonian Empire never died," she said. "It has begun rising again."
Her words immediately changed the expressions of the Asgardians. Several of them suddenly remembered the powerful woman who had been fighting on the battlefield moments earlier.
Odin ignored her completely.
His gaze remained fixed on Yun Chen.
"Superman truly is powerful," Odin admitted slowly. "Even I must respect such physical strength."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"With a body like yours, even gods would feel envy. But every Superman has a weakness."
"Kryptonite."
Yun Chen's lips curved faintly.
"I don't have that weakness."
Odin shook his head calmly.
"But magic exists," he replied. "And we Norse gods are very good at it."
As soon as he said those words, the morale of the Asgardian warriors rose immediately. At least now they no longer felt completely helpless against the terrifying power Yun Chen had just displayed.
Yun Chen suddenly laughed.
"Do you know how your people stationed in the Dwarf Realm died?" he asked casually.
"They wanted to test how magic worked on me."
His smile widened slightly.
"Looks like history is repeating itself."
