The next day, Ray and Lily headed to work. Entering the cafe hand in hand made everything obvious, but even without that, the atmosphere between them made it clear to everyone that they had become something more than just colleagues and friends. Seeing them, Jill smiled tenderly at the couple and said:
"I'm so happy for you guys, but be careful with this one. Just recently he was confessing his love to me," Jill said playfully.
"You rejected me and broke my heart, but this young lady's sincere care gathered up the pieces and carefully glued them back together, healing my soul. The day will come when you realize what you've lost, but it'll be too late," Ray replied jokingly.
"Girl, you're going to have a tough time. You've fallen for a true narcissist," Jill said, rolling her eyes.
"You're right, it won't be easy, but with this guy, it'll definitely never be boring," Lily said with a laugh.
"Kid, I'm happy for you. If with looks like yours you managed to win the heart of such a beauty, then if you got your act together and lost some weight, our dear Lily would have to fight off the competition. But seriously, I'm really happy for you both," Frank said.
"This is my first defeat on the romantic front. I don't want to admit it, but you really do look good together. But if you ever hurt our little Lily, I'll kick your fat ass," Tyler said.
"I don't judge your preferences, but I prefer girls. You should find someone else for that," Ray said, and the cafe filled with laughter.
Before leaving the cafe, Lily addressed her colleagues and friends. Despite differences in social status, age gaps, and some strange habits, the cafe workers had become true friends.
"Thank you all for your help. I'll never forget this, and if any of you ever need help, I'll do everything in my power to assist," Lily said sincerely.
"Little one, we're all friends here, no need for such grand words," Frank said with a laugh.
"The old man's right, you've had it tough. If our small help can make your life even a little easier, we're happy to help," Jill said.
"Let's consider this your reward for resisting such a handsome guy like me. It hurt, but you gave me new experiences," Tyler said.
"Have we gained another masochist in the ranks? 'Prince,' I think your senior colleague here wouldn't mind giving you some advice," Ray said with a laugh.
"Sorry, kid, but our duo doesn't need a third," Jill said.
"Even if I had such inclinations, I wouldn't dare destroy such a harmonious family," Tyler said.
