Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — The Hidden Law

Far above one of the silent streets of Horizon Zone 01, a luxurious flying car slowly descended from the sky.

The vehicle hovered a few meters above the ground before gently landing.

The door opened.

A well-dressed young man stepped out first. He looked confident, almost arrogant. After stepping out, he turned back and gently helped a beautiful girl out of the car.

He smiled at her warmly.

"My dear… tonight this entire area belongs to us."

The girl looked around the empty street.

"Are you sure no one will come here?"

The man laughed softly.

"Relax. No one will come."

"And even if someone does… they won't leave."

He brushed his coat proudly.

"My name alone is enough in this city. In Horizon Zone 01, everyone knows who I am."

Just as he finished speaking—

A boy suddenly appeared at the end of the street, running quickly as if he was late for something.

The girl pointed at him.

"Wait… didn't you say no one would come here?"

"Look. That boy is running right through this road."

The man's face darkened.

"So the warning I gave earlier meant nothing?"

He stepped forward and blocked the boy's path.

"Hey kid."

"Can't you see the warning on your bots? This area is restricted. You're not supposed to be here."

The boy stopped, breathing heavily.

"Sorry, sir… but I'm late for school."

"This road is the shortest route. I'll just pass once and I promise I won't come again."

"Please… just give me one chance."

Without waiting for permission, the boy tried to run past him.

Behind them, the girl began laughing.

"A small kid doesn't even listen to you."

"And you expect the whole country to respect your authority?"

Her words ignited the man's anger.

Without warning—

BAM!

He threw a powerful punch into the boy's back.

The force was terrifying.

The boy's body flew forward and slammed violently into a concrete wall. His body stuck against the wall before slowly sliding down.

At that exact moment—

WEEEEOOOOO—

Emergency sirens began echoing across the entire street.

The girl's expression changed immediately.

"What did you do?!"

The man frowned.

"Relax. Nothing will happen."

But within seconds—

Two flying police vehicles descended rapidly from the sky.

They hovered above the road as powerful scanners swept across the entire area.

The vehicles instantly locked onto the flying car belonging to the man and the girl.

A loud mechanical voice echoed from the security vehicle.

"Raise your hands immediately."

"Failure to comply will result in lethal force."

The man quickly pulled out an identification card.

"Officer, listen—"

"I said raise your hands."

"I don't care who you are."

"Follow the command."

The man froze.

At the same time, a flying medical drone ambulance arrived and carefully retrieved the injured boy from the wall before transporting him away.

The officer's voice turned cold.

"You have committed a serious violation of national law."

Suddenly—

The girl panicked and tried to run away.

The system instantly flagged her movement.

"Criminal attempting to escape."

"Permission for lethal action granted."

A flash of light.

A single shot.

The girl collapsed to the ground instantly.

Dead.

The officer looked at the man.

"You made a grave mistake."

"You attempted to violate the law of this nation."

"You are a Power-Class citizen, yet you still broke the law."

"There is already a special zone assigned to people of your class."

"Even then, you chose to ignore the law."

"You will now face punishment according to national code."

The man was placed inside the police vehicle.

Meanwhile—

A female officer stepped out from another security craft.

She deployed a small drone device.

When the drone's blue scanning light passed over the girl's body—

The body completely disappeared.

Erased using advanced matter-removal technology.

The officer returned to her vehicle and sat down.

Next to her was a fellow security officer.

He looked thoughtful.

"Do you think what we're doing is right?"

She leaned back calmly.

"Since when did we start judging right or wrong?"

"Our job is simple."

"Law enforcement."

He remained silent for a moment before speaking again.

"But shouldn't people know the real hierarchy of this world?"

"Most citizens think society is simple."

"Poor… middle class… upper class… rich… and government."

"But they don't know there is another class above all of them."

She nodded.

"That truth is revealed eventually."

"When students turn eighteen, they sign their contracts."

"It's their choice after that."

"We never force anyone."

"Every year, on the last day of school, the truth of this world is slowly revealed."

"If they want to apply for that class… they can."

The flying vehicle slowly lifted back into the sky and returned toward the Security Command Center.

Meanwhile…

On another street—

Alex and Darex were still rushing toward school at full speed.

They had no idea that the danger warning on Alex's watch had just been resolved.

Moments later, they arrived at the massive entrance of their school.

The school was enormous.

At the gate stood a holographic assistant AI, scanning every student who entered.

When Alex and Darex approached, a blue light scanned them.

"Class 12-A. Attendance registered."

"You may enter."

Darex smiled.

"Wow. We're not late today."

Alex looked confused.

"But we are late."

The holographic assistant replied calmly.

"You are late."

"However, due to an emergency situation, punishment protocols are suspended today."

"Have a nice day."

The AI assistant even smiled slightly, showing surprisingly human emotions.

Beneath the school building, deep underground, a massive server dome controlled the entire artificial intelligence system of the campus.

Every school in the world had its own private AI network, operating from underground server centers.

As they walked toward their classroom, Darex whispered to Alex.

"I'm sure the principal might forgive us…"

"But our teacher won't."

He started imitating their teacher dramatically, puffing his stomach out.

"Students, look at these two idiots!"

"They have talent, but no ethics!"

"I hate this kind of students!"

Alex started laughing.

But suddenly—

A voice came from behind them.

"What are you two doing here?"

They slowly turned around.

It was their class teacher.

Both of them instantly straightened.

"Sir… we were just joking."

But strangely—

The teacher said nothing.

His face looked troubled… almost angry at himself.

After a moment he spoke quietly.

"Just go to class."

"I'll come in fifteen minutes."

"Sir, but class time—"

"Please."

"I don't want to talk right now."

Both boys nodded and walked into the classroom silently.

Inside the class—

A beautiful girl was sitting near the window.

She had deep red lips… long curly black hair… and eyes that sparkled like lightning.

Her name was—

Iris.

And the moment Alex saw her…

His heart skipped a beat.
