Ren had taken Leona back to the ship and landed on a planet where he could rent a room in an inn. While Leona was still unconscious, Ren treated her wounds. It was some time before she woke up.
"Eh, what happened?" Leona asked as she woke up.
"That guy Tigre hurt you pretty bad, but he ended up letting us go." Ren replied.
Leona looked down and noticed that she had been bandaged up by him. She then turned a dark shade of red.
"Hey! You must have had to take my shirt off when you bandaged me up! You didn't try to sneak a peek or something did you? You pervert!" She exclaimed.
"Obviously not. Who in their right mind would be interested in the body of a tomboy like you." Ren said pointedly.
"You jerk!!" Leona said as she tried to slap Ren, but he managed to dodge in time.
"More importantly, this fight brought something important to light." Ren said as he changed the subject.
"What's that?"
"We simply aren't strong enough right now. The way we are now, we don't have any chance of winning against people like Tigre, let alone anyone stronger than him."
Leona had tried to muster her usual bravado but she couldn't manage it after remembering the one sided beating that they both had took at the hands of Tigre. She also noticed that despite being the one who took care of her wounds, Ren actually seemed to be more hurt than she was.
"I know what you mean, but… I just can't let this go. I have to keep going forward even if it seems impossible. I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like if I just keep going forward that somehow someway I'll find a way to make it work." Leona said. "Sorry, I guess that doesn't really make any sense."
"No, it's fine. I kind of get what you mean." Ren said. "Plus, if I let you keep going on your own, who could say how much trouble you'd get into." He said as he returned to his less serious demeanor.
"I'm pretty sure you're the one that causes me trouble." Leona said with a smile.
The two would spend the next few days recovering from their injuries in an inn in a tavern on a remote planet. When they were about to leave the owner stopped them.
"This isn't good. Did they find out that we're wanted criminals? I thought that we'd be safe out here in the sticks." Ren thought as he prepared to take action at a moment's notice.
"I just wanted to let you know that there has been reports of someone kidnapping young women around these parts. I thought you should know since you're traveling with that young lady there. You two should watch out and be careful." He told them.
"I appreciate your concern, but I think we'll be alright." Ren said. "I'd almost feel sorry for the guy who tried to kidnap a girl like Leona." He thought.
Just as he was talking to the owner, there was a commotion brewing at the other end of the room.
"Give me my daughter back! I know it was you that took her! I've seen her with you! You have to give her back she's all I have left!" A man shouted through enraged tears to another man that was sitting down with his feet propped up on the table in front of him.
The man took a sip of his drink before standing up. Once he was standing it was clear that the man had an imposing stature and towered over the father. He then dumped his drink on him before smashing his glass over his head.
"Listen old man, I don't know who your daughter is and I couldn't care less. I don't take kindly to people interrupting me while I'm drinking. If you don't get lost I'll break your skull the same way I broke that glass."
"But, my daughter-" He struggled to say.
"I told you I don't care about your daughter. If she's gone it's probably because she couldn't stand to be around such a worthless excuse for a father as you." He said as he stepped on the man's head.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Leona shouted.
"Wait, don't get involved. You know we can't afford to draw attention to ourselves." Ren whispered to her as he grabbed her hand.
"I know, but I just can't stand by and let this happen." She replied.
"What do you think you're doing sticking your nose in my business little girl?"
"What do YOU think YOUR doing? You can't treat this man like that, and if you really are the one that's been abducting these women, then we are going to have a problem." Leona said sternly.
"Oh, is that right? And what kind of problem could you possibly be for me, little girl?"
"U-Um, please take this outside I don't want there to be any trouble in my bar."
"I don't mind, I'll throw down with anybody, anytime, anywhere. So if you have a problem we can solve it little girl."
"I'm game. Though I don't think that you'll be so cocky after this 'little girl' puts you down in the dirt." Leona said as they left and went to a more secluded area.
"Unusually I would stop her from doing something like this, but I don't sense any aura coming from this guy so he shouldn't give her any trouble. I say that but, I'm getting a really bad feeling from him. I can't explain it, but I get the feeling that he's dangerous."
"If you tell me where the girls you took are, I promise I won't hurt you."
"I'm not obligated to tell you anything. If you want to fight then let's get this over with little girl. I want to get back to drinkin'."
"I gave you a chance you creep! By the way, my name isn't 'little girl' it's Leona!"
"Ripple Radiance!!!!"
"Hey wait!" Ren tried to stop her but she didn't hear him. "If she hits him with her full force she'll probably kill him since the guy doesn't have any aura to defend himself." He thought.
Leona struck the man with her attack and a massive plume of smoke and debris shot into the sky. When the dust cleared it revealed that not only was the man not dead, he wasn't even harmed in the slightest.
"Was that the best you could do? I don't know why you bothered to tell me your name because I'd never remember the name of a plain looking girl like you, but if we're all going around giving our names I'll tell you mine too." The man said as he punched Leona into the ground. "The name my piece of crap father gave me is, Violence."
