With Sun I finally make it to the citadel. A ship floats on the sea. It looks incredibly odd like something you'd see out a steam punk story. Its also completely covered in runes. A massive enchantment, but what for? I lower the binoculars i turn my head to seer of the infinite who hasn't moved in some time.
"Yes?"
"Why exactly do you want that citadel?"
She tilts her head
"Oh feeling curious? Well you see that citadel was a prototype by the people of the divine realm of storm. It was made to copy the great citadel you seem. Thus it can fly, repair itself and even allow a sovereign to make a small dream gate between regions of the dream realm. Although these mini dream gates can be destroyed."
I nod turning back to the citadel in the distance. Bloodwave speaks up
"What kind of guardian is there?"
She chuckles with a very odd tone to it.
"A lotus flower like corrupted terror. Originally it was the creator of this citadel"
Oh i see what she finds so funny, the terror of lo49, it seems we are going to have to fight something very similar.
With Storm I quickly run off creating a saw. Just one of the smaller branches. Just one and I'll easily have enough materials for years even. Thus I start hacking away. This branch may be on the smaller side but its still completely massive. I work for hours before I take a break. I look out at the odd landscape in front of me. It's so weird looking.
"Snow tryant! If you can hear me i hope you aren't a spider!"
I then jump down the tree to go see kai and sunless. I'll on continue later.
With Beast I sit down eating something the crazy person made. Everyone talks around me as they eat.
"Oh really. Listen here you little-!"
"Ha! Bless your heart"
"Pfft like that could be true! You having worked so closely with that valor princess. You know Ive heard a lot of stuf-"
"Stop that we dont need two"
"Hey I've got to disagree i think we do need two. Right, honey?"
"No. No we dont need someone else to act like you"
The massive tent hums with countless voices. I eat some more, the cook is really good with pork like meats I'll admit that. Their a odd white haired person, a awakened, who's cold, and I'm the one saying that. There's also another pinked hair guy who hangs around, a master, he's got a real bad attitude but he's good at cooking as well.
With Storm I hold onto kai as we fly through the air. The bridge hadn't formed, so now I have to deal with this. I can deal as I do all the time. Dealing with some real bullshit is what I do. Kai and I land on the ground. One more peak and I'll be done with this. I lift my hands and I yell
"I'm glad you aren't a spider! I hate spiders!"
The two guys stare at me now very confused. I use my thumb to point at it
"that thing has really cool wings i have to say."
Maybe I could get sunless to make me a memory based on them. Soon after I sit down facing the moth, and i start sketching the massive moth.
With Sun I run on the water by freezing it under my feet. I jump over a wide swipe. This thing is nothing like the terror of lo49! Its faster by a lot and seems to actually br a more physical attacker. If anything its like that thing that was in the wreck of the chain breaker. Its main thing is a kind of poison it can spread through almost anything. Makes sense why she wanted bloodwave, his transcendent form is big enough to resist it well and mine is made of ice making me heavily resistant. I jump over another grab. I touch the vine as it passes by me and almost the whole thing freezes. Bloodwave bites at the flower causing a massive amount of spores to poor out. I use its distraction to throw a dense piece of ice into it and the ice explodes out shaking the whole thing. Lashes out whacking me on the shoulder causing my arm to pop off and me to fly away. Even bloodwave is thrown back. Cetus isn't as it rises from the water biting down on the massive flower. I freeze the water as I land it cracks when I do. I grab my arm getting back up and I start running again. I put the arm that popped off back into the socket. I move it around until it pops back into place, it seizes I grab it until it stops. I finally get the where the terror and monster are fighting, with bloodwave holding the vines back. I get to the stem and I start cutting into it. Soon i hear ripping as the flower is finally torn off the stem.
With Storm I walk across the bridge i feel its gaze land on me. I look up and I decided to be a little silly. Takes the edge off, also I'm so scared and I need something to help with it.
"Ive read moths are fluffy. I wonder how fluffy that one is. I can already see its fuzzy at least"
I smile until
"I would say I am quite fluffy."
My head slowly turns from my companions to the massive moth. Its voice was so soft.
"Huh."
It chuckles, reminds me of someone
"yes i can speak. Hello little monster"
I point at myself
"huh?"
I glance over at the other two, they aren't paying me any mind
"you seem rather confused i can tell. I'll answer any questions you may have"
my steps seem to echo
"uhhhh okay....? Well I guess I'll ask. How's this game related to the original snow and ash kings"
I hear a soft almost sad hum
"oh those two. I understand why you ask. You poor thing you must be so conflicted and confused on the fate of your kingdom" what the fuck is happening
"but i will tell you that story"
I feel strings try to touch me and I almost violently pull away
"I ask that you keep your strings to yourself. I haven't had to deal with anything close to spiders since war went to go scouting and I'd like to keep that streak up"
it softly laughs again
"as you said you do not like spiders"
it heard me then
"the snow and ash kings, one made by the god of death the other made by the god of flame. The two, so close all others got jealous. They grew together for years and years protected by the cold so deep nobody they didn't invite could get to the two kingdoms."
It sighs as if reminiscing
"But the cold got worse by the day because of the Kingdom of war. It weaved a massive runic magic to make the cold worse the more the snow kingdom grew. The snow kingdom wasn't affected but the volcanos the ash kingdom grew on started freezing. The only way to save his kingdom was to kill the snow king, and the ash king was torn about it but made up his mind to save his people"
I nod
"i guess-"
I look at kai who's covered in silk and I abandon everything pulling out a bone blade. I cut into the silk
"let him go already"
its soft voice resonates once again
"But aren't you angry, its king killed your predecessor wou-"
all of the silk around me freezes
"kill kai? You want me to let you kill him? I'll rip you apart before you ever touch him"
the moth goes silent before it speaks again
"oh how sad, I will get you to see sense."
And the threads come at me even when I turn to ice they stab into me. Into my very soul. It has to die. I dont care what else has to happen! I'll kill it! I'll kill it before it can hurt my friends any more then it already has! I won't let it escape! I turn into a massive shadow spawn biting into the threads or grabbing them with my claws. I dont care how much I have to try, ill free kai. The slope shakes. I only take one glance back
"what the fuck?"
How is that even here. No matter I finally get kai free and I turn into a bigger version of my normal self. Slayer and sunless, or not by the fact condemnation is here. And thus i decide to make a very smart and normal decision
"SUN!"
my voice shakes the mountain. He wanted me to call him sun so I did. Soon i feel the strings trying to bind me, that i simply shift my form to, a little successfully stop, be cut away by slayer.
"Oh slayer!"
The moth flies up and with that i start throwing javelins. Die die die. Soon by all three of our attacks the moth falls and is gotten by the wolf and rushed at by sunless. As the sword falls time seems to stop
"oh heir of snow, why do you forsake me? Don't you fear the same fate that came to your people by a dragon will fall again" I scowl "not by Kai's hand."
"But by someone else. Why don't you let me help you? I can help you grow in power and I can defend your kingdom"
I laugh
"you tried to kill kai. I will not forgive that. Also trying to copy mordret? Your a cursed tryant do better then copying a transcendent."
it tries to speak again but time is unfrozen and so very quickly sunless's shield falls from the sky and he smashes the moths head.
I pant and I start walking over using a javelin as a walking stick.
"Sunny! We've... we've won!"
I start speeding up feeling something is wrong
"sunny?"
Sunless attacks and kills the wolf. Shit he did something! I start running desperately
"What are you doing?! Stop!"
The sword comes down cutting into kai. The world turns to static as he tries to swing the sword down again. I slam into him grabbing onto him. No no no, what did the moth do? Or was it him? I dont care i need to stop him. Kais yelling and he's so hurt. I need to-
"you can let go now. I heard him."
I finally let go and sunless turns back into his normal self. The two quickly run off while I start trying to stuff the dead body of the moth into my bag. Mmm materials. God damn i feel terrible. I'll deal. I barely manage to stuff the thin in my bag before I disappear from the terrible game.
