I glance over at everyone else. It feels so odd, to see them like it. This all brings back memories. To see them preparing for war. Sunny even has a special task. Although he's definitely taller heh.... God this feeling of dread is so strong. What if they die? No their strong, their all more skilled then me. My divine aspect doesn't make me so much more skilled or stronger. My aspect may be good in this kind of fight but that doesn't mean a damn thing if I don't use it right.
I need to pay attention now is not the time! I put my halberd on my back for what's to come. I glance at everyone in their armor as I take a deep breath.
"...Ah. They finally sensed us."
I glanced at N, he looks so sick. This has to be part of some plan. He plans a lot so.... so this is a plan, yeah.
"No point in hiding anymore. We are close enough, anyway… oh, what a night to be alive, my friends!"
He laughs as the boat goes flying up. I use one hand to grab onto the railings preparing. I start fiddling with my rings I need something to do. I'm not as prepared as I wish I was but I'm here now.
War drums? We are quite close now. Its almost time to fight.
"I guess this is it. Good luck, guys. Don't die out there."
I don't glance at sunny, I don't want to.
"Why would we die? It's just a couple of armies and three Transcendents. No big deal…"
Effies voice is so childish, in this nightmare she is a child isn't she?
"However, let's make a promise to not do suicidal battles beneath giant towers again, okay? I mean, at this rate, it might become a habit…"
I shake my head, now that she's said that's exactly what's going to happen
"No... no towers. Let's try to avoid giant towers in the future entirely. How does that sound?"
I glance at Kai who's staring at a arrow. I walk past patting him on the shoulder as I do. I keep it quiet
"You're going to do amazing"
I get to the front of the ship and I look out.
"Sounds fine to me… can't promise anything, though..."
Thats.... thats a lot of ships. Oh damn, well no holding back i guess. This will be almost as bad as the crimson spire. To be fair i was out of commission for half of it.
"Now… witness us, gods..." I go to glance back at N but a loud noise makes my head swing back to the enemy ships. One gets destroyed in a flash of light. Oh, would you look at that! I step forward, my hands change into large claws, I grip the railings, activating my cloak and I jump.
I fly forwards landing on one of the enemy ships. When one goes to attack a cold wind sweeps through the ship and it starts to fall as ice destroys almost everything on it. I hear crashing as frozen bodies fall to the floor. One of the masters rushes forward, only three of them survived.
I flick a ring at her and before she can even catch it a chain wraps around her neck and pulls her into the void. I throw the other 2 rings at singer. I start running to the other side of the ship when I feel soul essence start slowly flowing into my soul. My head snaps up at the moon disappearing.
Well I'll be damned, it seems N will have a problem. I will not be as, it seems whatever just happened is associated with death God in some way as I'm getting essence. Even if its only a tiny bit at a time. I get to the other side of the ship and I jump to another. I rush forward cutting the head off of one of the war ones. As another attacks a shield blocks it and a halberd cuts off their head.
I close my eyes as a bright light blinds everyone on the ship. In a few steps in get to the next enemy and in one slice off goes their head. I push their body into another person, the next i slice to ribbons with my claws. I get to the edge of the ship and I jump.
As I cut another enemy down I hear a massive and very loud crash. I turn my head to one of the moving statues being dusted by a javelin. I follow the path of destruction to see.... the sun prince. Well isn't that something
"Oh showing yourself now?!"
I start running as a black ice chain so massive that if I used almost all of my energy I could barely make it. I reach up as singer flies over grabbing my hand,a feeling like being disconnected from reality appears right as she does. We fly up, in her other hand is two ice shards. A arrow goes right through us as we fly up.
Singer tosses one of the two shards at the sun prince and flame comes out of it. It lands on the sun prince dragging its claws down making a massive cut in its chest. Flame isn't the most physically strong but a corrupted devil is a corrupted devil.
I land on top of the sun prince, my boots start heating up and cooling down rapidly. I gather energy rapidly and I start freezing it. Although its too hot to freeze fast. I get onto all 4s crawling along the sun prince avoiding its hand that's trying to swat me off.
There's flashes of bright light as N and the war leader fight. Every clash causes shockwaves that almost fling me off of the sun prince. I have to keep remaking my claw arms just to stay on the sun prince.
The only reason I haven't been caught is because singer and flame are taking up far more attention. I turn my head at N's ship flying far into the sky controlled by cassie. Its quite damaged too arrows everywhere and from what i saw not a lot of the sailor dolls are left.
I turn my head seeing sunny, kai and effie falling. The three smack onto the island. The sun prince pulls on the chain, with a loud and metal like snap the chain around its arm is broken. Singer flies over grabbing me. I try to keep going, keep fighting but she isn't having that. She very quickly flies over to everyone else. A floating word appears
"Hold"
Effie and kai seem to mostly understand. She reaches out and grabs the not paying attention sunny. We are disconnected from reality and there's a massive shockwave.
I turn my head to see N's ship having hit the sun prince. A massive shockwave rolls over the word as the ship crumples and the sun prince is thrown back. I look around with my heat sense as well as physically. I see N and the war leader smash into the broken ship. After a few seconds my head turns to the side seeing Effie fly towards the sun prince and with a loud clap her shield hits the sun prince and the two fall.
Ms and sunny see movement as we rush over to the ship. We run over finding a dirty and injured cassie. Shes mostly fine
"Who... who is there? Sunny? ■■■■?"
I reach out to her
"Yes, it's me. But can't your Ability tell?"
I reach to her and I pull her to me. Sunny and her talk as kai is sat down. He's a lot more injured then I am that's for sure. Sunny leaves to help N as I start patching the two up.
"■■■■ are you okay?"
I glance to kai
"Yeah. I went to hold off the sun prince before I got too injured. My arms are a bit broken but other then that I wasn't hit." He nods looking at cassie
"I'll likely have to help with the dragon."
His head snaps to me
"Thats not a very smart idea"
I laugh
"your saying that to one of the two most impulsive people in the cohort"
N and sunny rush out of the broken ship i rush over to them, it seems that flow of essence is gone now. Does that mean?
"Get to the point! Now that the sun is rising, your powers will be diminished, while his will reach their peak. How are we going to survive?!"
I stop next to them.
"I uh… will come up with something?"
Sunny glares at him then shakes his head
"You are joking, right? Come on… you must have some devious trick up your sleeve! You have an incredible advantage, after all! You have the knife that can make him mortal, while he doesn't have yours. Should I give you the knives? You have never asked me for the damned knives! Wasn't that the reason you befriended me, in the first place?!"
I glare out at the city and the retreating ships.
"No. No, that was not the reason, Sunless. In any case, giving me the knife won't do much good. I will still have to defeat Sevras, whether he becomes mortal or not. Either I subdue him and we can use the knife to finish the job, or he subdues me, and then there's no point. And... I really don't have any tricks left."
N then seems to attempt to smile, he seems better, it really was a plan after all.
"Ah, except one."
Sunny loudly breathes a sigh of relief
"Finally! What is it?"
N seems a bit more cheerful now
"Why… it's you, Sunless! Of course. Did I not say that fate brought us together for a reason?"
I look at him, please don't tell me he's saying...
"You did… but what the hell do you mean?"
I shake my head its more then clear, isn't it? Maybe sunny does understand and doesn't want to believe it, I can't say I don't understand.
We gather together watching it turn to day. I lean over to N I hold out a pack of jurky, my last one, he takes one and when he takes a bite he grimaces but eats it all.
"Hey so... what exactly is a perchta? You called me one, so ill assume that's what the race is am is called but... I come from a place with a lack of knowledge so...."
He glances at me then fully stares at me
"You don't know?"
I shake my head
"Sadly not"
He sighs
"Shadow god made them, although their more connected to death then the shadow spawn. Their more rare as they where.... what's the word you used... a prototype."
Nodding I pat N on the shoulder he steps away
"You are quite cold"
I laugh
"Hey I'm the one who has to always be freezing... by the way ill be helping fight the dragon"
His head snaps to me, he stays silent then sighs
"Did Hope's powers get to this badly?"
Slowly turn my head not very entertained
"This is how I've always been a few issues i have simply were made more apparent. No I'm not fully insane, the dragon uses fire if I'm correct. That happens to be something I'm specialized to deal with. As long as I don't get hit head on I'll be okay and you'll need the help."
Singer floats behind me, he glances at her then he laughs
"Well i doubt I can convince you... also his name is s-"
I put my hand up
"I don't care about his name."
He shakes his head with quite a bit of humor.
"You best keep up then"
With a thunderous roar the dragon finally comes out of his dear city. Sunny and him talk then he goes into his transcendent form. I wish I can draw it, that's one of the most beautiful ones I've ever heard of.
He goes forward and the two start clashing. Dragon opens its mouth to spit out fire but a heavy chain wraps around it snapping it closed. Flame bolts forward, i keep standing, I've been riding flame for a year or two now, of course this isn't too hard.
With the sound of metal bending and breaking the chain over his mouth is broken and the dragon breathes fire. Soon he burns the streets of the city he loved so much.
The dragon reals back in horror, his whole world falling apart, his city, his brother. With everything you thought you stood for seemingly gone, you go mad. He reals back clearly deciding to abandon all reason, to abandon humanity. Then again this city abandoned humanity when it started sacrificing people to him did it not?
I lean back then spring forward throwing a javelin, it hits in between the scales of the dragon. As the dragon roars the ice lights up and explodes making quite the wound.
Flame dives away almost being hit. Its movements causing cracks on just about anything it jumps off of. Another javelin is made in my hand and i throw it. This time the dragon is able to move out of the way, but singer grabs it and uses it like a spear.
I finally finish my project, a shield made of flames ice made as dense as possible. As flame lands i finally use all of the power i have to throw it. It seems to miss, but that was the plan. A chain wraps around the shield and its swung right into the dragon, with a loud crack its slammed into his side.
I lift my hand, its finally time for the new trick I've been working on, I expand the condensed ice. A explosion enough to shake dragon rocks the city. N seeing the opening makes the decisive strike, breaking his wing and the dragon falls.
Flame finally stops, half its saddle had already been destroyed and wounds cover it's body. I desummon flame and I don't grab the saddle, its mostly broken anyways. I drop the ice shard and it floats joining the other. I jump over burning buildings and burned bodies. A ripple seems to flow over the world as the dragon dies, to kai.
I land on the prison of hope. The last of the three ice shards joins the others. I rush forward, hugging noctis
"You won noctis!"
He freezes for a second then pats me on the back
"You really are dreadfully cold."
I go to let up but he hugs me back.
"But as the most pragmatic man in the kingdom of hope i can deal with it for you"
I look at his face, it seems so much more peaceful. If a little burnt
"I never asked you what you think of as home"
We separate
"A safe place i live for long periods of time"
he blinks then smiles
"As simple as always, at least you remembered my name"
I look down a little embarrassed.
"Once this is over I'm sure you can put words to home..."
He presses some thing into my hands, its.... its a dagger a black one. I look at his face
"Its not hard to figure out, you doing this will help you and.... you seem like you'll need it"
I look down at the dagger
"Are you sure this is what you want?"
He nods
"Just make sure everyone knows of me would you?"
I slowly nod
"Okay..."
I lift it, I'm a craftsman, why are my hands so shaky?
"You're a lot more sentimental then I thought when I met you. Heres a tip, don't trustthe gods and.... maybe don't trust that chained one you have"
He takes my hand and drives the dagger into himself. I catch him before he falls.

The island rises as I hold his body. Twice now, twice now someone has had me kill them. It feels almost selfish. The island is going further and further into the sky with us on it. This is how the crushing was made wasn't it.... this is both the past and not is it not. Fate is a cruel bastard, maybe that's why the spell is a thing.
