I get up and I walk over to the door. Sunny went into his dreamscape pod and I have my own thing to do. I said to Kai once, when a movie is made about us tell me about it.
He sure delivered, Kai used his connections to put me in contact with the movie makers. So I'll be doing some consulting work, nothing too hard. I may not like talking with people I don't know but a whole ass movie?
I have to help make it. I leave going to the tram. Once there I summon my helmet and I lean back in my seat. I'm being stared at, some are whispering, others are taking pictures. I don't get it but ill definitely be looking at the network to see what people are saying about me.
Most of it's just good fun, some is kinda weird, oh, and the art I see sometimes. Maybe I should make an account and be one of those famous people. How funny would that be?
I walk over to the building where the start of the movie-making is taking place. I knock on the door and a man answers, he looks at me shocked
"Awakened Heat Seeker! Come in, come in"
He opens the door wide and steps to the side. I walk in looking around. They seem to be in the planning or writing stage for now.
"So this is where you'll be writing the movie?"
"Yes yes, you and awakened sunless exploration report have heavily inspired it, none of it would even be slightly possible without it!"
He pulls out a chair for me.
"I've heard so much about you"
"all good things I hope"
He freezes for a second before going back to his very excited demeanor
"Of course awakened Heat Seeker all good things."
I lean back summoning my notebook
"All of the drawings I created within the forgotten shores are here"
I swear the guy gets stars in his eyes as he takes the notebook and starts flipping through it. He stops on the page of the statue and depth dweller fight
"Oh gods I'm seeing the original, so much of the detail is lost when it was turned digital!"
He starts muttering to him I catch things like
"the spire messenger" or "the first bright lord" and even "is that what Gunlaug looked like"
After a while he hands it back to me with a reserved but clearly excited expression.
"I have to thank you awakened Heat Seeker. I really do, what's in this notebook could help a lot."
I nod
"How do you plan on portraying us?"
He gets surprised for a second before he gets excited
"Well Changing Star will be noble and incredibly intelligent of course"
I wave for him to go on
"Awakened Han Li Caster will be a valiant legacy that truly shows what a legacy is meant to be"
I make a face, not that he can see it. I remember the little confrontation I walked in on with Sunny and Caster. I only caught the end but he called Sunny and "mongrel" to his face. Oh or the many many times Effie got him with a sex or dick joke. Or most of his interactions with me, like the time he patted me on the head like a dog and almost got bitten for his efforts.
"Hmm okay okay"
"You'll be a powerful and unknown force that not even Gunlaug understands. Oh and can't forget that truly fearsome healer of yours."
Well, I wouldn't say I'm sinister but, that sounds so fucking cool.
"Awakened Raised by Wolves will be strong and outspoken of course"
I nod
"Do not forget that she isn't stupid, no stupid person survives as a solo hunter."
He nods and takes notes
"Awakened Song of the Fallen will be quiet but deeply compassionate"
"Do not forget that she is far more formidable than meets the eye"
He takes more notes
"Awakened Nightingale will be polite and kind as well as deeply intelligent"
I nod
"And as for awakened Sunless?"
"Aw yes awakened Sunless he will be the comic relief?"
I almost glare at him at him
"In what way?"
"Well isn't it obvious? He's from the outskirts and isn't very fluent. He will have his moment of course with leading the dreamer army to the gate."
I shake my head at that
"I can see him being comic relief in some ways but he isn't a barbarian or stupid. He's the one who did most of the writing for the exploration report after all. You see you've gotten his intelligence wrong. He's not stupid, he just says stupid things."
He nods quickly noting that down
"Also after a month of hunting with our party in the dark city, he left for 4 months and lived in the city itself. He left after an argument with Changing Star because he figured out that if Gunlaug were to die a civil war would happen and he didn't like the idea of that kind of loss of life."
His writing speeds up
"As well as being the one to kill the right-hand man of Gunlaug. I asked him myself and the man had the aspect to make things blind and sunny can see through his shadow. From there a lucky shot is all it took"
He looks up at me dumbfounded
"Wait he did what?"
"Yes yes, he was very open about it. Now if you still want him to be comic relief, don't make him some dumb outskirts kid make him the only one who reacts like a normal person to the insane stuff that Changing Star plans. I'll also ask about what nightmare creatures they fought on their way to the city and what he was doing in the battle of the crimson spire"
He nods quite fast
"Thank you for all this information. If you will I'd like your number to contact you with any more questions we have"
I nod taking out my communicator.
I sit on the tram I'm getting looks but now without my helmet for a different reason. Like all awakened I am likely "hot" hehe. Its not like i can tell, i can't see myself, no doubt i have a better fashion sense then most, well Kai does. He was the one who got me new clothes.
But whatever Sunny should be getting out of the Dreamscape soon. I wonder what name he chose. Probably something completely weird or slightly insane. I get off the tram and I start walking home.
I got a fat check from doing consulting work for that movie. I forgot its name. The local school had just gotten out and I passed a kid who looks a lot like Sunny.
I turn back around, yeah she looks like Sunny what a weird and completely random thing to happen. I go back to walking. I get home flopping on the couch.
After a while Sunny comes upstairs from the Dreamscape
"Yo Sunny. So how did it go?"
He sighs dramatically
"I swear to god they all used the same stupid fighting style! The god damn same one" he flops down
"I got no real training done."
He looks over at me
"I did some consulting work and got some money from it"
He nods a few times
"So what name did you choose anyway?"
"I chose mongrel so people wouldn't know it was me"
