Adder shouted at the spirit, "Hey, focus on the work."
After synchronization with the dungeon core, he could communicate with the spirit from any distance via telepathy.
The chubby snake started following his instructions to increase shrubs and add flowers to different regions of the forest.
As the dungeon spirit, it only had to touch a certain section of the forest for the changes to take place.
While the spirit did that, Adder focused on adding small components like ponds and rivers inside the forest.
He added a small swamp on the side with a bunch of rotten trees for slime consumption.
There were also a couple of fruit trees that he added along the bank of the river. These could be used by rats.
As for the rabbits, he added a bunch of long grass around the biggest pond in the center, along with making the ground there a bit softer.
The spirit already started working on scattering a whole lot of different-sized stones throughout the forest. These were to provide cover for snakes in the future.
Once all the macro stuff was set in place, he shifted from terrain control to the dungeon control screen.
[Input x5 'Slime']
He placed them next to the swamp on the eastern side.
[Input 5x 'White Rabbits']
The rabbits were dropped in the center next to the biggest pond.
[Input 5x 'Toothless Rats']
He dropped the rats right at the front section of the river.
Not stopping there, he started working on different traps all around the forest.
He especially focused on spike pits and wired sting traps. With this low fund, he only invested in movement-restriction traps.
These were not that lethal, but for lethality, he planned to use snakes anyway.
After tweaking and adjusting everything for almost an hour, he finally clapped his hands. "Let's stop it here."
He stared at the bustling forest. Thousands of mistakes in his previous life had taught him that when it came to dungeon terrain, there was no perfection.
There would always be something that could be improved depending on different situations.
It still lacked a bunch of things, but for initial growth, it was sufficient.
The entire forest was more of a paradise for those prey creatures.
He looked at the time. The entire thing took him around two hours. Not stopping there, he proceeded to the second floor, going through a similar process.
Though this time, he focused more on developing a short maze within the forest.
For this floor, he focused more on creating an environment that would aid snakes in sneak attacks.
Because of that, he worked to increase dense foliage while he let the spirit add random decorations.
He spent extra time making this floor as deadly as possible.
Once satisfied, he turned to the chubby spirit. "Xarik, let's go to the Void Village now."
The chubby spirit quickly returned to the dungeon core room. It licked the non-existent dust off its body. "Master, I didn't expect to finish this fast."
Adder raised his eyebrow. "What finished? We are moving to the Void Village."
The chubby snake stared wide-eyed at him and then started rolling on the floor. "No, Master, that's too much work. Let me rest."
This ticked him off. He did not entertain the guy and just grabbed its horn and mumbled, "Void Village."
The spirit's horn flashed in bright violet light as both of them got transferred to the Void Village.
Adder opened his eyes. He was floating up in space.
But just below him, there was endless black charred land that stretched beyond the horizon. It was so vast that he never got to see it end in his past life.
Up above, countless bright stars lit this entire world.
Ding!
[Due to the presence of the dungeon master, the Void Village will return to active dungeon time flow.]
Adder nodded his head. Basically, the time inside the Void Village flowed 10 times faster than the game time, which was already two times faster than real-world time.
So one day in the real world was two in-game days and twenty Void Village days.
It was this time difference that boosted dungeon masters to have sufficient creatures present inside their Void Villages.
To avoid causing any mental strain, either the player could not enter a slower time flow region, or the time flow of that place was adjusted to in-game time for the player.
It was the same cause for the void village. Which was kind of fair to all the players, as everyone had the same amount of time.
One more message popped up before him.
Ding!
[Congratulations, Dungeon Master Adder, you have entered your Void Village for the first time.]
[You have gained a medium grassland terrain map.]
[You have gained 2 packs of prey monsters.]
Adder raised his eyebrow. Even the Void Village reward had increased. 'That explains how those guys got the head start.'
He just shook his head. In the past, he had only gotten one extra basic terrain with no extra prey monsters.
Well, it was a good surprise to have. After some thought, he shifted his plan.
A medium grassland terrain was much bigger in size, so he decided to build a section-based snake nursery.
He mumbled, "Terrain modification."
Same as in the dungeon, a control panel popped up in front of him.
Though this time, instead of a 3D room, there was just an endless black plane.
Wasting no time, he ordered the chubby spirit, "Xarik, go there."
The little thing sulked but still moved.
This time, a massive grassland, almost ten times the size of the basic terrain, appeared before him.
After positioning the grassland, he created a dense line of trees, dividing the central grassland into two rings.
A small inner ring and then a massive outer ring.
He further divided the outer ring into ten sections for each type of snake.
He added stones and thorny bushes to fully separate each section, leaving only limited trails that connected each of these sections to the inner ring.
Before doing any micro-adjustments, he said, "Use all prey packages."
Ding!
[Dungeon master has consumed prey packages.]
Ding!
[You have gained 50 x Woolly Rabbits.]
[You have gained 30 x Yellow Peaker Birds.]
[You have gained 40 x Boar Mice.]
[You have gained 50 x Yellow-tailed Foxes.]
[You have gained 70 x Bluegill Fish.]
Adder raised his eyebrow. 'Oh, I even got a bird.' This was the biggest surprise, as the price of flying prey creatures was sky-high in the system.
Also, with boar mice and bluegill fish, he even had sufficient water creatures.
Now that he knew these creatures, he started adjusting the terrain to promote the growth of all these prey creatures.
