WILLA POV
The rest of dinner passed in tense silence, thankfully without any further interruptions.
"Come, let me show you to your room," Mrs. Archer said.
"Thank you," I replied, placing my hand over hers.
She gently pulled me to my feet. I pushed my chair back in as quietly as I could, then glanced at Kol. He was staring at me now, brows raised in silent questions.
I wanted to speak to him—at least say something—before he disappeared again. I wasn't sure when I'd see him next. His mother and father both noticed the look and turned their gazes on me.
I looked away quickly, cheeks burning. Mrs. Archer took my hand and led me out of the room. We walked down a long hallway, passing several closed doors, before stopping in front of one.
One of the maids stepped forward, inserted a golden key into the lock, and twisted it. She opened the door slowly, bowing low in respect to Mrs. Archer.
Mrs. Archer sighed softly and stepped inside. "Come on," she said gently.
