'Wait…does that mean, if I don't have sex…Would I die? But…how does that make sense? Am I supposed to have sex with just anybody around me? Like animals do?'
Earl wanted to scream those words at her, as her answer kept vividly echoing in his head. Feeling a little dizzy with the sudden shift of the situation, he was confused and stunned.
But his pride as a stubborn middle-aged adult held him back from spitting those words before the nurse.
In fact, the situation she had foreseen was something entirely unthinkable for him at that moment.
However, watching his face turn paler than a ghost with every second, the nurse reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, glass vial filled with tiny white pills.
She placed it gently into his trembling hand and gave a small nod.
"Don't think of it too much right now. Take this," she advised softly.
