Despite the consistent bickering, Edward led Zion down the dimly lit administrative hallway until they reached the office of the TIC.
When they pushed the doors open, after a small knock, they were greeted by Mr. Stanley.
With a deep frown, Zion noticed their teacher in charge of the academy sat behind a massive mahogany desk.
As usual, he was wearing a cold, calculating smile that instantly felt like a bad omen.
And that was one of the prime reasons Zion always intentionally avoided being sought by this old man. But this time, he couldn't run away from Edward, who was glued to him all the way here.
"Ah, excellent work, Edward," Mr. Stanley commanded, his voice sounding much delighted.
Standing up from his chair, he adjusted his posture, his eyes locking onto Zion. "I must praise you for actually succeeding in bringing Zion here. He is, after all, one of the few students who always desperately avoid seeing me since the day he enrolled here."
