Two days later, Colton Manor.
The door to the training room was tightly shut, with dull thuds echoing from inside from time to time.
Leo stood shirtless in the center of the arena, his fists slamming into a specially made metal post, one strike after another.
With every strike, the metal post shuddered violently, showing dents on its surface.
He wasn't using Nen, only pure physical strength.
Sweat streamed down his spine, dripping onto the floor, where it quickly evaporated.
Footsteps echoed in the corridor—more than one person.
The door was pushed open, and Kastro, Goreinu, Sophia, Shizuku, Kalluto, and Ashir filed in.
Kastro walked in front, looking travel-worn and weary, but his eyes were bright.
Goreinu followed behind him, his clothes still stained with dust he hadn't had time to clean off.
Sophia and Shizuku walked in the middle, while Kalluto brought up the rear, his eyes scanning every corner of the training room.
Leo stopped his movements, withdrew his fist from the metal post, and picked up a towel nearby to wipe his hands.
"You're back?"
Kastro nodded.
"Gavin and Nolan have both been taken care of. All assets have been cleared out; nothing was left behind."
Goreinu added, "Those two old geezers were even more cowardly than Blake. They hid in places one more obscure than the next. But with Kalluto's tracking ability, it didn't take much effort to find them."
Kalluto stood by the door without speaking, simply nodding slightly.
Leo glanced at him, then looked away.
"Good work. Rest for the night, and you can busy yourselves with your own matters tomorrow."
Kastro and Goreinu exchanged glances and nodded.
In a few more days, it would be the date of his duel with Hisoka, so he had to go back and prepare.
He had waited a long time for this battle and couldn't afford any mistakes at the final hurdle.
Sophia stepped forward, looking at the sweat on Leo's body, then at the deformed metal post behind him.
"Master, Niko hasn't fully recovered yet. Shizuku and I will stay for a few more days and leave once he's better."
Shizuku stood beside her, adjusted her glasses, and nodded in agreement.
Kalluto didn't leave, watching Leo expectantly.
Leo knew what he meant—he had originally planned to follow him for a while, and he hadn't had enough fun yet.
Ashir walked out from the back of the group, holding his phone with a newly received message on the screen.
"Mr. Leo, there's news regarding the matter you asked about. Morel has accepted the commission, but he has to finish up what he's currently working on first. It will take about ten days."
Leo nodded.
"Reply to him and say no problem. We can wait."
Ashir looked down to operate his phone and quickly sent a reply.
The training room fell silent.
Kastro and Goreinu turned and left to pack their things.
Sophia and Shizuku also left to check on Niko.
Kalluto remained standing by the door, unmoving.
Leo picked up the towel again to wipe the sweat from his face.
Two days ago, Vivian had spent a large amount of money and connections to finally make contact with a V5 official.
That official accepted Vivian's tribute, and with his support, Vivian successfully secured a seat among the Ten Dons.
But whether she could hold onto that position depended on the strength of the Colton Family, and the problems below were for Vivian to solve herself.
The night the news came back, the entire Colton Manor was brightly lit, and everyone knew that the Colton Family would never be the same again.
However, some people were not happy to see this result.
The day after Vivian sat in that position, the other Ten Dons sent two people over.
The leader was a fat, middle-aged man wearing a meticulously tailored suit, with a thick gold chain around his neck and rings on all ten fingers.
When he walked into Colton Manor, his chin was held higher than his forehead, and his gaze swept over everyone's faces as if looking at a swarm of ants.
He brought the mandate from the Ten Dons.
"The Colton Family may become one of the Ten Dons."
His voice was high-pitched and thin, a sharp contrast to his massive frame.
"But you must hand over all the assets obtained from Gavin, Blake, and Nolan. Otherwise—"
He drew out his tone, a malicious smile hanging on the corners of his mouth.
"—wait to be hunted down by all the gangsters in the world."
Vivian stood in the hall, her expression calm, saying nothing.
Her gaze drifted past the fat man and landed on Leo.
Leo laughed.
People really do laugh when they are speechless; there are still idiots like this in this day and age. Who gave him the courage?
He stepped forward, stood in front of the man, and looked down at him.
"I admire your ignorance. It seems the Ten Dons are all idiots."
The man swallowed hard, but behind him stood the Ten Dons, the highest authority in the entire underworld.
He summoned his courage and repeated what he had just said.
Leo looked at him, sighed, and raised his hand.
He slapped him lightly on the face.
But the force was not something an ordinary person could withstand.
The man's head exploded into a mist of blood like a watermelon hit by a sledgehammer.
Red and white matter sprayed far, splashing onto the face and body of the attendant behind him.
The headless corpse stiffened for a second, then crashed to the ground, hitting the marble floor with a dull thud.
The hall was deathly silent.
Leo shook the blood from his hand and looked at the attendant who had collapsed on the ground in terror.
"Take a message back. If you don't want to end up like Blake, then obediently get out of the way."
The attendant scrambled away, not even daring to turn back to pick up the shoe he had lost.
At this moment, Leo stood in the training room, recalling that scene from two days ago, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned.
Those old geezers thought they could suppress the Colton Family by threatening them with being hunted down by the world's underworld. How ridiculous.
Footsteps sounded outside the door. Vivian walked quickly into the training room, looking anxious, but more than that, excited.
"Boss, there's news!"
Leo turned around and looked at her.
"Those seven old ghosts are preparing to head to a secret stronghold in the Bartochia Republic to discuss how to deal with us."
Leo's eyes narrowed slightly.
It took them so long to make a move; these guys really are afraid of death. But that's fine; it saves him from having to find them one by one.
"It's time to take care of them."
Vivian hesitated for a moment, her voice a few decibels lower than usual.
"Do we really have to kill them all? Won't that cause dissatisfaction from above?"
Leo scoffed.
Above? Those guys sitting in the V5 offices pointing fingers.
"I want them to be dissatisfied."
His voice was calm.
"Only then will I be able to find out who the person behind the scenes really is."
He paused, looking into Vivian's eyes.
"Wipe them out all at once. I don't want people plotting against me every day. Once the Ten Dons are all dead, you can just push those two guys into the positions of the Ten Dons."
Vivian nodded, the hesitation on her face wiped away.
"Understood. Then I'll go prepare."
She turned and left, her high heels clicking on the floor in a rapid rhythm.
Leo looked at Kalluto by the door.
"Let's go. Finish it early to avoid complications."
Kalluto nodded and followed behind him.
The two walked through the corridor and down the stairs.
Ashir was already waiting downstairs. Seeing them come down, Nen surged from his hands.
A pale blue light door unfolded in the air.
Leo stepped through the light door, and Kalluto followed closely behind.
The light door slowly shrank and finally disappeared into the air.
Ashir stood in place, looking in that direction, silent for a moment, before turning to attend to his own matters.
