Leo's gaze swept over the remaining Waldock gunmen in the distance—more than forty of them, scattered behind various covers throughout the estate, still exchanging fire with the Colton guards.
He didn't immediately go to help Gorenou, deciding instead to clear out the fodder first.
His Rank 25 Enhancer body granted him strength and precision far beyond that of an ordinary person.
Leo bent down and picked up a fist-sized stone from beside his feet.
Nen flowed slowly, gathering in his right hand; his fingers curled, and his muscles tightened.
"Whoosh—"
The sound of breaking air was sharp and piercing.
Fifty meters away, as a gunman hiding behind a car just poked his head out, the stone accurately struck his skull.
Splat! The head instantly caved in and deformed, blood spraying out!
Without pausing, Leo picked up another stone and threw it.
"Pfft!"
Another one.
"Bang!"
The third.
His movements were concise and fluid, each throw accompanied by a dull thud and the end of a life.
The stones in his hands became death's calling card, each one unerringly accurate—regardless of whether the target was hiding behind cover or moving.
For an Enhancer, a tempered body is the best weapon.
The Waldock gunmen soon realized what was happening.
Panic spread like a plague; some tried to find the thrower's location, others turned and fled, but without exception, as soon as they entered Leo's line of sight, they were pierced by a stone in the next second.
A massacre.
In just three minutes, all forty-three gunmen lay on the ground.
Gunfire in the estate ceased abruptly; in the deathly silence, only the rustling of wind through leaves and the sounds of Gorenou's distant battle remained.
A warm sensation continued to emanate from the tattoo on the back of his hand.
The notification [Life Energy +100] appeared continuously, eventually converging into two stronger streams of heat that washed over his entire body.
He jumped two Ranks.
[Rank: 27 (0.5%)]
A faint tingling sensation emanated from his muscles and bones, and his five senses improved once again—Leo could clearly hear Gorenou's heavy breathing a hundred meters away and see the beads of blood congealing on the tip of Gabri's blade.
"Killing really is one of the fastest ways to level up."
He thought to himself, but immediately suppressed the idea. Power can be pursued, but one must not lose oneself.
He turned and looked at the battlefield on the other side.
Gorenou's situation was precarious. He already had multiple wounds on his body, and blood had soaked the bandages wrapped around him.
The "Black Sage" was covered in dents, clearly the price of hard-tanking Nen Bullets; the "White Sage" was also half a beat slower in its movements, having sustained blade wounds all over its body from Gabri.
Terence was constantly maneuvering and shooting from a distance, the trajectory of his Nen Bullets tricky.
Gabri was like a venomous snake, waiting for an opportunity; every time Gorenou revealed a flaw while dealing with the Nen Bullets, he would strike like lightning.
Once again.
Gorenou rolled sideways to dodge three Nen Bullets, which exploded on the ground behind him.
Gabri appeared behind him instantly, his blade thrusting straight for his heart.
Just as the tip of the blade was ten centimeters from his back—
"Shoo!"
The sound of breaking air rose again.
A stone accurately struck Gabri's wrist as he held the blade.
The crisp sound of shattering bone was clearly audible, and the blade flew out of his hand.
Gabri groaned and turned his head in shock.
Terence was also stunned for a moment.
Gorenou seized this critical opportunity and activated his Nen—the "White Sage" instantly swapped positions with him, opening up a distance of ten meters.
Leo had arrived beside Gorenou, his pace steady.
"Can you still hold on?" he asked.
Gorenou crouched on the ground, panting heavily: "Yeah, no problem."
Terence stared at Leo, his expression ugly.
"Is Theodore dead?"
Leo did not answer, just stood in place, the Nen around his body erupting.
Pale white Qi rose like flames, and the ground beneath his feet cracked inch by inch.
"Ken," but the intensity was far beyond that of an average Nen User—the amount of Qi from a Rank 27 physical enhancement was significant.
Terence understood.
He adjusted his glasses, his tone low.
"Then I know. If you want our lives, then come."
Before he finished speaking, he had already pulled the trigger.
Five Nen Bullets shot out in a fan shape, sealing all of Leo's evasion angles.
At the same time, Gabri picked up his blade with his left hand, his figure swooping down like an arrow, the blade pointing straight at Leo's throat.
Leo did not dodge or evade.
The Nen Bullets struck the "Ken" around his body, emitting a crisp sound like metal colliding; shockwaves exploded, but they failed to penetrate even a fraction.
Leo's body just shook slightly, completely unharmed.
Gabri's blade had arrived.
The blade speed was fast, but in Leo's enhanced dynamic vision, every trajectory was clearly visible.
He leaned slightly to the side, and the blade grazed past his neck, just millimeters from his skin.
Gabri's pupils contracted, and he changed his move to thrust again.
Leo dodged again, effortlessly.
For the next two minutes, Gabri pushed his speed to the limit.
The blade light turned into a silver storm, launching attacks from every angle... every strike was lethal.
But Leo remained at ease.
He strolled through the blade light, his movements minimal each time, yet he always managed to dodge by a hair's breadth.
He was observing, analyzing, and figuring out Gabri's combat habits, force-exerting rhythm, and patterns of changing moves.
Two minutes later, Leo moved.
No longer dodging.
Gabri slashed diagonally; Leo no longer leaned to the side, but stepped forward instead.
The moment the blade was about to touch his shoulder, he kicked off the ground with his left foot, creating a shallow pit, and the Nen around his body surged wildly toward his leg.
A side kick with a step.
The speed of this kick exceeded Gabri's reaction limit.
He only felt unimaginable force hitting his abdomen, his internal organs seeming to shift instantly, a mouthful of blood sprayed out, and his body flew backward like a torn sack.
The moment he flew out, Leo's right hand had already reached out, fast as lightning, accurately locking onto Gabri's ankle.
"Bang!"
Leo's arm muscles bulged, swinging Gabri up and slamming him fiercely into the ground.
The earth trembled, and gravel splashed.
Gabri vomited blood again, his consciousness already blurring.
"Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang—!"
Leo was expressionless, slamming him violently from left to right.
Each time, he smashed Gabri's entire body into the ground with such force that the ground caved in with every impact, and blood bloomed like a flower.
This violent scene terrified the surviving Colton members in the distance.
Some covered their mouths, some turned their heads, and some collapsed to the ground with weak legs.
Five times, ten times...
When Leo stopped, Gabri had become a twisted pile of pulp, lifeless.
A warm sensation came from the tattoo on the back of his hand.
[Life Energy +275]
[Rank: 27 (18%)]
Leo let go, and the corpse slid down limply. He turned to look at Terence.
Terence's face was deathly pale, his eyes behind his glasses full of fear.
Without the slightest hesitation, he fired a dozen Nen Bullets at Gorenou, then turned and ran wildly, rushing toward the estate wall.
Gorenou recalled his two Nen Beasts to block in front of him, hard-tanking the Nen Bullets, unable to pursue.
Just as Terence was preparing to get away, he saw a yellow card under a tree in front of him.
Just as Leo was about to move, a calm yet highly penetrating voice came from beside the tree on the perimeter of the estate.
"Chamber Judge—Yellow Card Warning."
The moment the words fell, a pale yellow curtain of light descended from the sky, accurately enveloping the fleeing Terence.
Like an insect trapped in amber, his movements halted abruptly, frozen in mid-air as he jumped.
Immediately after, a figure walked out.
A black suit, white shirt, meticulous tie, a serious face, and eyes sharp as a hawk.
He landed silently and walked toward the imprisoned Terence, each step steady and powerful.
Leo recognized the newcomer.
Micael Istom Nana—one of the Hunter Association Zodiacs, a Two-Star Crime Hunter, known for being fair and rigorous. His ability "Chamber Judge" can set rules and enforce them.
So he really came.
Leo helped up the exhausted Gorenou: "Are you okay?"
"Fortunately you were here, otherwise it would have been troublesome."
Gorenou panted, smiling bitterly, "Thanks."
Micael Istom walked up to the two, his gaze sweeping over Gabri's corpse first, then looking at Leo, and finally landing on Gorenou.
"I'm sorry, I have to take this one who was running away."
His tone was calm but unquestionable.
"He has committed multiple cases—murdering twenty-three civilians and orchestrating two terrorist attacks, with evidence in hand. So please do not stop me."
Leo shook his head.
"I won't stop you. I know who you are, Micael Istom, one of the Hunter Association Zodiacs, a Two-Star Crime Hunter. It's reasonable for you to catch him."
A flash of surprise passed through Micael Istom's eyes, but his expression did not change.
He had actually arrived long ago—lurking in the tree observing before Leo joined the battle.
The reason he didn't intervene was, first, to confirm the identities of both sides, and second, because the strength Leo displayed amazed him, so he decided to wait and see.
Leo continued.
"And I know that the Terence you want to catch is one of the members of the Purifier Organization. You're investigating this organization, right?"
Micael Istom's gaze became sharp suddenly.
"That piece of intelligence on the Hunter information website about The Purifiers operating in Tote City."
Leo met his gaze.
"We were the ones who released it. The goal was to attract you here."
He paused for a moment, letting the sentence sink in.
"You want to capture these guys, and I want to eliminate the threat once and for all. You saw it too, they already came to attack. I don't want to be retaliated against in the future."
Leo extended his hand.
"So, I want to cooperate with you. My name is Leo."
Micael Istom was silent.
His gaze lingered on Leo's face for ten seconds, seemingly evaluating the sincerity and risk of this proposal.
Then, he made a decision.
"You know about the Purifier Organization, which means you have prepared sufficiently."
Micael Istom extended his hand and shook Leo's.
"In that case, we can cooperate. But the premise is—all actions must be legal and follow my command."
"Of course."
Leo smiled.
"Pleasure working with you."
The two hands clasped tightly together.
In the distance, Terence, imprisoned by the yellow card, was full of despair.
The fall of the Purifier Organization began here.
