Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Introduction to the Gods

The cold metal of the gun pressed firmly against Myre's temple.

His heart pounded violently in his chest, but he forced himself to stay calm. Panic would only make things worse.

The man behind him spoke again, his voice steady but filled with suspicion.

"Mr. Beng seems to know something… something that ordinary people shouldn't know."

Myre slowly turned his eyes, trying to understand the situation. Even though fear ran through his veins, he knew something was wrong. Very wrong.

The man continued.

"Myre… do you know anything about the gods?"

There was a short pause.

"Contracts. Faith. Elixirs that can grant power equal to that of a god."

The man watched him carefully, waiting for an answer.

He needed to know something important.

Was Myre a danger to humanity… or someone who might protect it?

Then the man asked another question.

"If you had the chance to obtain the power of a god… what would you do with it?"

Myre's thoughts raced.

The book.

The strange voice.

The warning about the secrets of the gods.

For a moment, he suspected the man might somehow be connected to it. Maybe he was even stronger than the believers mentioned in the book.

But Myre knew he couldn't reveal the truth.

Not yet.

The man's voice suddenly became cold.

"Myre… answer before I count to three."

He raised the gun slightly.

"One."

Myre's mind searched desperately for the right words.

"Two."

The pressure in the air grew heavier.

"Three."

At that exact moment, something changed.

A dark, terrifying aura appeared behind Myre.

It was blacker than the deepest night.

The presence did not simply look at Beng.

It stared into him.

As if someone had reached into his soul, pulled it out, and forced something else inside.

Beng's body trembled.

For the first time, fear appeared in his eyes.

His voice, usually calm and controlled, now carried a faint hint of shock.

"You… passed the test."

He slowly lowered the gun.

"Follow me."

"Mr. Beng… where are we going?" Myre asked as they began walking through the quiet streets.

"You will go to a magic academy," Beng replied calmly.

Myre blinked in surprise.

"A magic academy?"

"Yes. Astryx Academy of Arcane Truth."

Myre frowned.

"What do you mean… it chose me?"

Beng glanced at him.

"You've probably read stories where people use magic. That power comes from the Ten Gods."

His tone grew serious.

"They grant gifts, talents, and power. But they can also grant curses… madness… and death."

Myre felt a chill run through his spine.

"To unlock the potential hidden in those chosen by the gods, people must discover certain truths and train."

Beng continued walking.

"Astryx Academy is the most famous magical academy in the world. Everyone wants to enter it."

"In a few days, the entrance exam will begin."

He stopped for a moment.

"And because the academy recognized your potential… and because I selected you… you will participate."

Myre stared at him.

"Me?"

Beng nodded.

"The academy has four main classes."

"Wolf Class – specialists in direct combat and strategy."

"Mage Class – masters of magic, healing, and long-range attacks."

"Assassin Class – silent killers, used for secret missions."

"Detective Class – investigators who solve mysteries related to the gods."

Myre listened carefully. The more Beng spoke, the more surreal everything felt.

Before he realized it, they had arrived in front of his house.

"Myre," Beng said calmly. "Go home. Tomorrow will be a long day."

Before Myre could respond, Beng stepped backward.

The darkness of the night swallowed him.

It was as if he had never been there.

Myre slowly entered the house.

His thoughts raced through his mind.

"This isn't even my real body…"

"I've only been in this world for one day…"

"Should I really go to that academy?"

He suddenly slapped his own face lightly.

The sting brought him back to reality.

Then he smiled with determination.

"No matter what happens…"

"I'll figure this out."
