Chapter 46 - The Overlord of the Vortex

"B-But… the Archon War ended two thousand years ago."

"Now that only the Seven Archons remain in the world, how could you possibly awaken an ancient god?"

Paimon asked in shock.

"Of course…"

"I already prepared the method."

Tartaglia extended one hand.

Several golden talismans began circling around him.

"T-Those are Sigils of Permission!"

"I remember now! We really did find the Fatui researching them!"

Paimon stared in shock at the glowing talismans.

"So you really succeeded in copying the Sigil of Permission…"

Lumine took a fighting stance, gripping her sword.

"Correct. The one I gave you was merely a by-product of the research."

"With so many sigils gathered together, and the power granted to me by the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya…"

"Temporarily weakening the suppression of Morax's stone spears isn't impossible."

Tartaglia was deliberately stalling for time.

The sigils were slowly releasing their power.

"To be honest, reaching this point and relying on the power of an ancient god…"

"…is quite boring to me. It doesn't fit my principles."

"But thinking that not only the Geo Archon and that foreign god…"

"…but even you will have to respond to it…"

"Well, that makes it somewhat interesting."

The sigils burst outward with golden light.

At the same time, Tartaglia's body was gradually enveloped in a sphere of Hydro energy.

"Let us see!"

"A nation that has lost its god…"

"…whether it will be swallowed again by the malice of ancient times!"

Tartaglia raised both hands and laughed toward the sky.

The sphere of water wrapped around him completely and carried him upward.

"But if you want to drown alongside the people of Liyue…"

"…then enjoy yourselves!"

With that, the water sphere vanished from Lumine and Paimon's sight.

Lumine and Paimon immediately rushed outside the Golden House.

Meanwhile—

Qiu Nian was deep beneath the sea.

Before him was the Overlord of the Vortex — Osial.

Facing the enormous divine body, Qiu Nian had been preparing to personally break the seal.

But suddenly—

The suppressive power of Morax's stone spears began rapidly weakening under waves of golden light.

"So Tartaglia still chose to release Osial."

"…Good."

Qiu Nian quickly retreated.

He shot out of the water and landed lightly upon a pile of rocks by the shore.

Then he simply stood there, looking out toward the sea.

The sky darkened in mere moments.

Storm clouds swallowed the sunlight.

Massive waterspouts rose from the ocean and connected with the sky.

The sea roared violently.

The entire scene felt like the end of the world.

At the same time—

High above Liyue Harbor, the enormous Jade Chamber appeared.

In the sea below, the shadow of a gigantic creature slowly rose.

After passing a small island—

The monster finally lifted its enormous head from the water.

It looked like four colossal sea serpents, each raising a massive head.

The body of the creature glowed faint blue.

A terrifying divine pressure radiated from it.

When Osial fully emerged—

The clouds above began spiraling violently.

A blue light shone down from the vortex in the sky.

Osial's massive heads gazed down upon Liyue Harbor.

The overwhelming pressure caused many ordinary citizens—and even some Millelith soldiers—to collapse to their knees.

The creature's body was larger than mountains.

The sheer scale suffocated anyone who looked at it.

Some people were so terrified they even forgot to run.

Watching from the shore, Qiu Nian sighed softly.

He was closer to Osial than anyone in Liyue Harbor.

From his perspective—

Osial seemed almost as tall as the sky itself.

The monstrous scale would give anyone megalophobia.

"The Sigils of Permission have limited power."

"Osial has only been temporarily unsealed."

"His body is still pinned to the seabed by Morax's stone spears…"

"Only his heads have surfaced."

"And after thousands of years of suppression…"

"He's practically stacked with negative debuffs."

Qiu Nian murmured to himself.

In other words—

Even if Liyue did nothing—

Once the sigils lost their power, Osial would be sealed again.

But of course—

That would never happen.

Even with limited freedom, Osial would surely seek revenge on Liyue.

And the time he had was more than enough to destroy the harbor.

As for Qiu Nian—

He had no intention of helping on the Jade Chamber.

He already knew this disaster could be resolved by the people of Liyue, the adepti, and the Jade Chamber itself.

Meanwhile—

The perspective shifted to Lumine and Paimon.

Along the road, they saw many foreign travelers fleeing in panic.

But strangely—

Very few Liyue citizens were leaving.

Most remained within the harbor.

When Lumine and Paimon finally arrived at the Jade Chamber, they saw Osial clearly for the first time.

"So huge!"

"This is unbelievable!"

Xuehua stared at the screen, feeling her own megalophobia kicking in.

The livestream chat exploded.

[Holy crap…]

[How did Rex Lapis even defeat that thing]

[That's terrifying]

[This shows just how insane Morax and Guixu are]

[So what exactly is Venti's deal then?]

[I've seen you ask that like five times already]

[Venti: let me ask you something]

[Qiu Nian come save us!]

For the viewers—

This was the moment they truly understood the scale of a god's power.

And it made them realize how terrifying Morax and Guixu must have been.

As the crisis unfolded—

The Liyue Qixing and the adepti decided to set aside their disagreements.

They would fight together.

Large numbers of Millelith soldiers guarded the Jade Chamber.

Cloud Retainer improved the Guizhong Ballistae.

Ningguang expanded the Jade Chamber, creating a massive transparent blue platform beneath it.

The adepti poured their adeptal power into the ballistae.

Energy blasts rained down upon Osial.

But suddenly—

Multiple portals appeared across the platform.

Large numbers of Fatui soldiers poured out.

The Traveler, Keqing, and the Millelith rushed into battle.

During the fight, the Traveler received adeptal power from the adepti.

Together, they defeated the Fatui forces.

With no more interference—

The adepti focused entirely on the ballistae.

Massive blasts of energy slammed into Osial.

In pain, Osial lifted several of its heads.

Divine power gathered in its jaws—

Then shot toward the sky.

The beam struck the platform beneath the Jade Chamber.

And in a single blow—

The platform shattered.
