From Kiana the Lord Ravager Onward: A Grand Fabricated History
Author: Better Hang Myself Than Write
"The examination results… are extremely healthy."
Inside the laboratory, after reviewing every one of Kiana's test results, Herta frowned.
Unwilling to accept it, she opened several more documents and pulled up every index for repeated cross-checking, but the conclusion remained exactly the same.
Ruan Mei, standing nearby, was equally surprised by the result.
Heart rate: normal. Path fluctuations: stable.
Even the cellular activity decline that should, in theory, commonly appear after prolonged hibernation showed not the slightest trace in Kiana's body.
Judging from the current situation, the Abundance blessing left behind by that Miss Cecilia was perhaps even stronger than either of them had imagined.
Perhaps that was simply the terrifying nature of the Path of Abundance.
At least, that was what the two geniuses believed at the moment.
Kiana herself, on the other hand, felt nothing special about it.
After all, she had never actually been asleep in the first place, so there was naturally no way she could have developed any genuine aftereffects.
"I told you already, I'm really fine. There's seriously no need to keep examining me."
And Herta, quite obviously, was a very reasonable person.
"All right. Since you're fine, come help us test the Simulated Universe."
Kiana: ???
What was that supposed to mean?
Kiana genuinely failed to react for a second. Just moments ago Herta had been all concern and care, and now the moment she saw that Kiana was fine, she was immediately dragging her off to do labor?!
So this was the kind of Herta she really was!
At that moment, Herta even kindly explained it for her.
"It just means helping me with a bit of work. Be good. Listen."
Kiana felt helpless, then quickly began searching for excuses.
"So I'm already being sent to work now? Actually, I do still feel just a tiny bit unwell…"
The Simulated Universe?
Better not.
Who knew what sort of situation the simulated Aeons inside might turn out to be? Never mind the worst-case scenario of her cover being blown.
Even just encountering Nanook would already be enough to give her a headache.
After all, in the original plot, whether it was the Trailblazer or Herta's group, whenever they encountered Nanook in the Simulated Universe, he mercilessly obliterated them.
But her persona was supposed to be the so-called true orthodoxy of Destruction. If Nanook came knocking and beat her down, wouldn't that absolutely ruin her image?
Unfortunately, Herta had no idea what Kiana was worrying about.
She explained matter-of-factly, "This isn't called work. This is called participating in family activities."
Kiana: "..."
Well, that really did leave her momentarily speechless.
As a lazybones, sorry for disappointing you!
But just then, inspiration suddenly struck Kiana.
While Nanook's indiscriminate attacks were certainly troublesome, this persona of hers was still, at the very least, an Emanator of Destruction. It wasn't impossible that he might not target her.
And more importantly, she had just remembered one of her blank Erudition personas.
Perhaps this so-called Simulated Universe could be used for her purposes too.
...
...
Very soon, the three of them moved to the main battlefield of the Simulated Universe—Herta's office.
"So? Looks pretty spectacular, doesn't it?" Herta introduced it to Kiana.
Kiana lifted her eyes and looked over it. It was more or less the same as she remembered.
Still, she gave it a positive evaluation.
"Mm. It's pretty nice."
"But what exactly is this Simulated Universe supposed to do?"
The moment Kiana asked about Herta's field of expertise, Herta's interest was instantly piqued.
"Put simply, it simulates Aeons and lets us ask them questions."
Kiana nodded thoughtfully. "Simulates Aeons?"
Herta nodded again. "The virtual Aeons are connected to real-world Paths, so you can think of it as us creating miniature gods that don't possess actual power."
"Before you, I even brought in a girl who had a Stellaron sealed inside her to run tests."
"She walks the Path of Trailblaze and has even been glanced at by Nanook, so someone like her is naturally more likely to gain the Aeons' recognition."
"You should know that the wills of the Aeons remain almost impossible for us to predict. Other than their Paths, they practically think of nothing else. So if we ask them questions directly, of course they'll ignore us."
"Even though one of our partners designed a virtual personality for every Aeon and maxed out their sociability settings, it still didn't help."
"So we decided to try a different angle: find a special person and have them pretend to be a certain Aeon in order to get closer to the others."
At that, Kiana's eyelid twitched.
"So… you want me to pretend to be the Aeon of Destruction?"
Herta answered as though that were obvious. "Of course. You're an Emanator of Destruction, so who could be more suitable to play Nanook than you?"
"I once tried pretending to be Nous myself, but I don't know whether it was because our compatibility wasn't high enough or because he's just not very popular—either way, none of the other Aeons paid me any attention."
"But if we switch to you playing Nanook, then even if the other Aeons still don't respond, at the very least we can observe Nanook's own reaction."
Hearing that, Kiana almost lost it—but thankfully, she had long since prepared herself.
And apparently assuming Kiana was worried about her safety, Herta added another explanation.
"But it's fine. We're not doing any Inception nonsense here."
"Even if you die inside the Simulated Universe, you won't be injured in reality."
"Well? You get it now, right?"
Faced with Herta's question, Kiana sensed that the moment was ripe and finally spoke.
"Isn't this just my aunt's Universal Fantasy?"
"Could it be that you and the others studied abroad under my aunt, Big Sister Herta?"
The instant those words came out, the room fell silent.
"Your aunt?" Herta raised a brow.
"Universal Fantasy?" Ruan Mei picked up the other half.
The two geniuses turned toward Kiana at the same time, their eyes full of confusion.
Kiana continued explaining, "Yeah. Didn't my aunt already promote Universal Fantasy all across the galaxy ages ago?"
"Could it be that you're playing at being archaeological scholars or something, Big Sister Herta?"
At that, Herta immediately couldn't sit still anymore.
"What are you talking about?"
"What 'Universal Fantasy'? And who exactly is this aunt of yours? How have I never heard of any of this?"
Herta was genuinely stunned. Since when had her Simulated Universe been promoted by somebody else? Wasn't this supposed to be her recent new idea?
Kiana continued, "Hm? Big Sister Herta, you don't know my aunt?"
"She's Theresa, the Number Two seat of the Genius Society. Since you're both geniuses, shouldn't you know her?"
Herta: ???
What did she mean the Number Two seat of the Genius Society was named Theresa—and was also Kiana's aunt?
Had this girl run into a History Fictionologist or something?
