Skyler reached the station nearly early morning with the attorney beside him.
The fluorescent lights above the hallway buzzed faintly while officers walked past carrying files and half-finished conversations.
Somewhere deeper inside the station, someone was shouting.
Somewhere else, a printer refused to cooperate with existence.
Skyler stopped before the interrogation room and opened the door for the attorney.
Salvar sat inside with one hand cuffed to the metal table.
His posture looked relaxed.
Too relaxed.
The kind of posture people built deliberately.
The attorney entered first and extended his hand.
"I'll be representing you," he said calmly. "Attorney Gilbert Adam."
Salvar looked at the hand briefly before shaking it.
Gilbert placed a leather folder over the table neatly before folding his hands.
"As your attorney, I need the truth from you," he said. "If you lie to me, I cannot defend you properly."
Salvar nodded once.
"Understood."
Gilbert opened the file.
